Husarq |

GM, Husarq is going to Ready an Action, instead of Delay, if that's OK with you. He'll Melee Attack as soon as there's an opportunity.
If Husarq is waiting/readied, then it appears that it is the necrophidius' turn, right?

Funny thing is, I have a +6 Will save...not too shabby for level 3. But I seem to fail too often, even with that...

The problem I find is a human one: dice-rolling is random, yet I always feel like I miss the important rolls. Just my perception bias. I never remember the good ones. I just remember the bad ones. The one where I'm being disintegrated and I roll poorly. The one where I swing and miss on the crucial, final-man-standing attack. The one where...

Husarq waits for an opportunity to attack.
"Selter, move. Sir."
He waits until after Selter moves. If Selter doesn't move, Husarq does not attack.

If y'all don't mind, I'm going to "call" this fight. The necrophidius is unlikely to be able to hit/damage Husarq and Sithiss. And those who were incapacitated are about to re-enter initiative. Rather than have the party expend further resources, I'd prefer to have you all heal up and be solid before we continue on. If, for fun (or catharsis) you want to take a parting shot at the enemy, please feel free! :-)
Combat over!

"Hey! Who kill the pretty snake!?!" Harrow bellows. But then he seems to come to himself, and says "...Oh..."
He then moves over and kicks the bones, as if to have done something useful.
After he performs his childish act, he examines the western passage.

Harrow points out his findings to the others.
"Harrow not mind wearing cloak if no one else want to wear..." [ooc]I don't have one yet...if someone else wants it, go ahead.
After they have examined the sarcophagi, the half-orc moves to the stairs. "This way, right?"
We came out of the mirror in G1, correct? Looks like the only way is the stairs. Harrow will also examine that statue to the east (take 20) before using the stairs.

Shivers run down Harrow's spine, though he cannot feel them.
"This way," he points, then leads the way past the stairs.

New Map: The House of Night--Upper Levels
I've circled in red where you came up.
I decided to reveal the whole map because most of this is a "spatially distorted, shadowy reflection" of Boroi Manor.

![]() |

Harrow looks around suspiciously as they come up the stairs.
"Hmmm..." the half-orc says. "If this place kind of spatially distorted, shadowy reflection' of Baron guy's house, maybe we go straight to room Baron sleeps in to find bad guy?" he says as everyone's jaws drop at Harrow's use of polysyllabic words.
"If I were bad guy, I would sleep in best room in house..."

![]() |

That's room A10 on the Boroi Manor map. If you ascend the stairs to the next level (circled in green) of the House of Night, you'll see that there isn't an equivalent room.
However, you have to go into room G11 to get to those stairs. Here's a description of G11: This elegant room resembles a fine dining room on the Material Plane, spread with a feast fit for a great lord. A stairway in the room's northwest corner leads up to another floor.
The ornate bone flatware intricately set about the table is worth 200 gp. The delicate porcelain dishes that adorn the banquet table and fill the two hutches along the south and east walls are worth 1,000 gp if collected in their entirety.
The wall (circled in blue) abutting room G12 bleeds black ichor.

Berosius looks at Harrow in dumbfounded amazement at the half-orc's burst of completely lucid speech. He tries to cover this up with a wide smile.
"Why, that's just what I was thinking, Harrow, my friend. Lead the way!"

![]() |

"Harrow thought he had good idea..." the half-orc says. "Bleeding black wall not good, but Harrow not sure what to do with it. Maybe need to look around more..."
Upstairs from the dining room sounds good.

G13: A feather bed piled high with blankets dominates this well- appointed room. Floral wallpaper has been carefully pasted over the black walls of the manor, and carpets cover the floor. A dresser, mirror, desk and armchair complete the illusion of a comfortable apartment on the Material Plane.
A human corpse lies in the bed, propped up against pillows and swaddled in coverlets. The cold air has preserved his body well, and there is little smell.

How about G14?

![]() |

Thinking on it for a while, the party eventually realizes that the dead body in here (G13) matches the description of Iozif Boroi.
G14: This is a well-appointed bedroom, where carpets and wallpaper cover the otherwise grim substance from which the house is constructed. Every available surface is covered in writing, lines of curly script that wind around the room in great arcs and spirals. A hanged body dangles from the ceiling, immobile in the still air.
