It was not added, so the attack should have been a 14, for 12 damage. If that hits, that is. *crosses fingers*

Tarlon stomps once again and crushes the evil wench!
"splat."
Congratulating one another and catching your breath then searching you find a note and a map on the woman that shows directions to a cooper’s
warehouse on the south side of the Imperial Naval Shipyards, in which there is an office with a trap door that leads to a hidden basement where the “Cult of Nature’s Cataclysm” meets and gathers supplies.
The note is a love note accompanying the directions and is signed by one Dalirio Teppish.
You search everywhere, that's all you find.

"Ewww," Taliesin says as Tarlon stomps the zombie into the deck.
Still, gathering her resolve, she congratulates the party. "You are all so amazing and capable! Good work, everyone!" she says cheerily.
Examining the note further, she looks for any clues.

"I've seen many love notes, but they are all written to me. I guess we'll need to go to this hidden basement."

Reginald momentarily ponders how he can top the love notes to Taliesin written by so many others. But the tiefling's words wakes him up from his reverie. "The cult of nature's cataclysm. Could that be druidic in origin?" He looks to Miriam. "Regardless, let's make haste!"

DM Jelly |

Finding the building was quite easy, climbing to the roof and knowing where to look for the trap door made things even easier. When you carefully and stealthily peak into the room below:
A smell, not unlike wet dog, fills this room. The corners are occupied by dirty straw pallets covered by wrinkled, mildew encrusted blankets. A single dilapidated table and four cracked and uneven chairs surround it. The floor is covered in a thin layer of dust and mud and footprints clearly cross the room from the trap door in the ceiling to a set of wooden double doors in the west wall.
You also see two dire rats and another druid, not unlike the first encounter, guarding the room.

"That's very brave and selfless of you, Gilthanis! We should definitely go help!"
Taliesin prepares to go forward as the stench assaults her senses.
"I'm new to this, but I have to ask: Is there some rule that all places Pathfinders go stink to high heaven?"

Before venturing into the building, Miriam would prefer to be healed, along with Tarlon. "Can someone toss a little healing our way? I can't afford one of those wands yet, I'm afraid..."
They are both down 3 hp

"Ah, thank you, good sir. Now, shall we deal with these creatures inside?"
Miriam and Tarlon ready themselves around the hole in the roof to jump down and surprise the creatures inside, waiting for her allies to get in place.

DM Jelly |

Jumping in three by three the human and two rats are taken by surprise!
I'm not going to allow the second three a surprise action as by then the druid and rats will be moving.
The moment the druid spots you he begins shouting: “intruders are entering the lair!” He then orders his rats to attack you!
Gilthanis, Reg and Zoren have a surprise action.

![]() |

"Remember who you fight for!" Taliesin yells from the top. It is not clear whether she means the Pathfinders or herself.
Just a reminder for the +1/+1 banner should still be in effect, since Taliesin is standing with it right above you!

Reginald charges at the rat to the south! I assume that doesn't draw an AOO from the rat to the north because the enemy is flat-footed.
Charge!: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 22; Damage: 2d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 + 1 = 10

Zoren charges at the druid and strikes at him with his dagger.
Dagger charge: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 71d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
Zoren charges to the spot south of the rat so that it gets flanked. Since Regi should be out of the way by the time I act.

Correct, no AoO from FF
Three of the hero's run into battle, two flounder yet Reginald connects soundly with a dire rat and dispatches it. La rata muerta.
Init:Taliesin, Gilthanis, Miriam, Rat, Zoren, Druid, Reginald
Miriam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Zoren: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Taliesin: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Reginald: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Gilthanis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

"Tarlon. The rat. Go."
Tarlon charges the rat, slamming at it with a branch.
Tarlon slam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Miriam then follows Tarlon, attacking with her scythe. If Tarlon took out the rat, she'll move into its square and attack the druid instead.
Scythe attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 = 10
Crit chance!!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 6d4 + 15 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4) + 15 = 32
GAH! I was so excited about a crit chance with my scythe, and then of course I roll a 1 on the confirmation! &%$(&#$%!!!

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 to check the bodies and the room.

DM Kludde |

Giving a dot to let you know I'll run the final encounter of this scenario.
A quick recap (to see if I got everything right): there's a room, with the body of a druid and a rat (courtesy of the society), a doorway to the west. Furthermore, Miriam has found a hidden switch.

![]() |

Taliesin looks at her companions and blinks a few times.
"I just had the most bizarre, waking dream," she says. "We had come all this way, only to fail to reach our goal. Regardless, it has passed, and it's time to achieve victory! Someone pull that lever!"
Thanks, Kludde!

![]() |

"I believe I also had the same dream, young one. There must be some strange magicks at work in this place. Oh well, let us continue!"
As soon as the others are ready, Miriam will direct Tarlon to pull the lever.

"It is as if we've been standing in front of this door for hours, trapped in an illusion."
Reg pinches himself, and is pleased to feel it. "But the righteous vengeance we bring shall be very real!"
