About Miriam Vinedancer

Miriam was born to a well-recognized elven family in Kyonin, and from birth she was expected to be an Evoker. Her parents were Evokers, her grandparents were Evokers, and the only close family member who wasn't a Wizard was her brother who had become an Arcanist, using the innate magic ingrained in him by his family's long history of arcane magic to augment the fire-based spells he learned from his parents. However, Miriam knew from a young age that she didn't have the patience or dedication to study Wizardry.

When she was only 40 years old, she found herself one day walking through the forest on her own, and came upon a treant, a guardian of the forest. The treant looked at Miriam with sadness in her eyes and pointed toward a baby treant, just a sapling, who was suffering from some sort of wasting disease. Miriam took the sapling up in a backpack and told the adult treant that she would take care of him.

She nursed the baby treant back to full health using a combination of herbal infusions and her own innate magic, which seemed to be springing forth from her in the presence of the small plant creature. Once he was fully healed, Miriam named him Tarlon. Realizing that her innate magic was manifesting in Druidic magic, and fearing that her family could not understand, Miriam left her family and her noble name behind, taking up the surname "Vinedancer" and traveling the world to learn about Golarion's many plants for herself.
