Amiri, Kinslayer |
"Skulls on a table." Amiri mutters. "That's not familiar at all"
Are there any lanterns or the like that she can light?
If so, she'll light some and put the torch away for her sword. Otherwise, she keeps the torch out.
She makes her way over towards the northern doorway, ready for more trouble.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
gfvelastegui |
No problem then.
Lady Illirigarde appears in the table’s reflective surface, though she appears tired. A box carved with skulls is closed behind her as she furiously tries to align two delicate silver disks etched with compass directions. She looks down at a book, and lightning flashes brightly outside. When it subsides, the box is open, and the tiny winged creature is hanging from the nearby bookcase. It leaps at her throat with hate in its eyes, and the vision fades.

Amiri and Leryn, your turn.
Who is carrying the two crystal boxes?
Amiri, Kinslayer |
Amiri snarls in anger. Partly at being attacked by the tiny creature, partly in response to the feelings of dread she can't quite explain.
Dropping the torch, she pulls out her sword, and takes that anger out on the thing trying to bite her.
Move action: draw weapon, Rage, Standard: attack. No power attack, because already taking a negative from being shaken
Melee Attack, Rage, shaken: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 - 2 = 18, for 2d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 + 3 = 15
If that hits and takes it out, she will then 5' step to the right
Leryn |
If Adowyn can give Leryn the attack sign, Leryn will attack red... if not, he'll wait for Adowyn's turn to get teh signal.
to hit, red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
Mavaro moves forward to stand by Kyra, then swings his one-eyed sword at the mite closest to Adowyn.

3 rounds remaining of Legacy Weapon
6 rounds remaining of lead blades

Amiri, Kinslayer |
Aw, Erasmus moved in my way... was going to throw a chair at it =)
Guess its the sword then...
Single move, than swing! At blue, unless Erasmus took it out, otherwise at yellow (which might have some cover, not sure)
Still fuming, Amiri skirts around the table moving up to, and past, Erasmus to take a swing at one of the mites.
Melee, rage, shaken: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 - 2 = 18, for 2d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (8, 7) + 6 + 3 = 24 damage.
Adowynn |
Adowyn gives Leryn the signal to attack.
handle animal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
She herself shoots at yellow.
to hit: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 4 = 11
dmg if hits: 1d8 ⇒ 5
gfvelastegui |
Adowyn gives Leryn the signal to attack and Leryn attacks killing to the red mite. Then she shoots, but fails.
Rivani keeps runing, fear is presented on her face.
Erasmus moves forward, and tosses a chakram at one of the mites. He kills to the blue one.
Mavaro moves forward to stand by Kyra, then swings his one-eyed sword at the mite closest to Adowyn. Unfortunately, he fails.
Amiri kills the last one.
The table’s mirrored surface once again reflects Lady Illirigarde holding one of the silvery disks in each hand. In a whispering voice "Why have you come?"
Amiri, Kinslayer |
Actually, we're looking for the compass things, right?
Amiri snorts. "She tortured the creature. The creature killed her." She mutters.
Amiri glares at the strange reflection suspiciously, as she goes to pick up the torch she dropped before something lights on fire.
She otherwise does not interact with the strange apparition at all.
Suppose someone should go make sure Rivani's ok =)
Adowynn |
Figuring some knowledge of nature or survival might go well with the compasses, Adowyn reaches out and takes one.
I don't think Adowyn would have taken a crystal box... she needs both hands free to use her bow... unless one would have fit in her pack.
Adowynn |
Adowyn does so... putting it in a box as soon as one is produced, hopefully before it dissolves completely.
gfvelastegui |
With fortune you put both compasses in the boxes and they are in an acceptable condition. It takes you 2 days to travel to find to Dr. Quolorum. "Thank you, guys. This is a good advance against this misterio. I hope we can solve it soon. You should keep going to the monolith."
And so, you explore a nearby ruin — a monolith about an hour’s hike from the sleepy village of Dunhob.
Mavaro Knowledge history: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Rivani Knowledge history: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Kellid barbarians ruled this land before it was Ustalav, and, depending on the tribe, they both worshipped and warded against powerful ancient evils.
When the undead Whispering Tyrant conquered this part of Ustalav, he killed all the living but left many of the ancient Kellid sites untouched. After he was defeated, the Ustalavs reclaimed the land.
Tales tell of a group of Ustalavic nobles who fled deep into the earth through a well below the monolith to escape the Whispering Tyrant—a well that the ancient Kellids knew to be a gateway to evil. After the Whispering Tyrant was defeated in the Shining Crusade, crusaders sealed the well, trapping any surviving nobles below.
The great monolith of the ancient Kellids towers over the barren hillside. A distant flash of red lightning silently illuminates the muggy air, revealing a hole that gapes in the slope like a toothless mouth. Several dozen feet away rises a low mound of dirt and loose rock.
Rivani the psychic |
Barely recovering from her previous experience Rivani mumbles:"Seems like the place where we are going isn't all that happy. At this point small surprise I'd say. Anyway in ancient times Kellid tribes ruled the area and created sites to defend against evil beings... or in some cases to worship them. It's must have been somewhat effective because even the Whispering Tyrant left these sites untouched. Anyway there are tales of a group of ustalavic nobles who fled the Tyrant hiding under the same monolith we're going to visit. Apparently they knew there was some sort of well under the monolith and hoped to use it to escape the Tyrant. Unfortunately when the Shining Crusade finally managed to crush Tar Baphon the nobles never reemerged and the site was sealed".
Rivani pauses for a moment allowing her words to sink before adding:"If you are wondering, there's a catch: the Kellids considered the well under the monolith to be a gateway to evil of some sort..."
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
Mavaro looks into the hole and then studies the mound of loose dirt.

Amiri, Kinslayer |
Amiri will study the area for signs of recent activity.
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Then, assuming nothing untoward, will pull out another torch, light it, and move to the entrance to peer in.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
"If any of my ancestors were here, they've long moved beyond this realm." She says with a shrug, than frowns slightly at the implications.
gfvelastegui |
When Mavaro comes close to the hole he sees an eye within an elongated hexagon on the wall, at both sides of the entrance. There are other signs around it.
Amiri can't determine if there was recent activity in this place. With the torch Amiri lights part of the hallway in front of Mavaro. The tunnel extends only a few feet through the soil before meeting a stone, partially collapsed hallway. The passage to the northwest is choked with fallen rubble, and it extends to the east.
Amiri, Kinslayer |
"Manual labor I can do." Amiri says, eyeing the rubble speculatively.
"Someone else will have to provide the light." She adds, putting down her torch. "Will need my hands."
She will do her best to clear out the rubble, and lead the others into the tunnel.
Dunno what it takes to clear the way in, roll something appropriate if needed!
