"… um, pretty please", Gruugdúrz ads to Miyako's talk to the prisoners.

Sickly quickly grabs any items of interest on the garundi woman and shoves them in his bag for later examination.

He waves Miyako away, after she starts to heal him, pointing towards Saarai. "Her. Get her." He mutters, eyes downcast like he can't look her in the eye as he absently wipes his nose. Miyako leaves to go heal others, moving between members of the group.

Sickly looks over at Gruugdúrz sitting against the wall, and frowns like he wants to say something, but doesn't.

Instead, he turns back to the prisoners. "I can let you out, but I need to know if you know of any Riftwardens?" He says again, for the first time, not muttering. "Are there more inside?" He adds, indicating the direction of the main building. "Is this all of you? Four of them, came together... anyone?"

Gruugdúrz gets up gingerly, felling like a trampled rag doll.
He walks slowly to the prisoners and demands silence:

"Shut it, you lot!"

"We've had a hard time of it, so I'm not my usual cheery self!"
"We will get you out of here, but just calm down!"
"Just tell us where any other prisoners might be."
"And follow this dwarf's directions," as he points to Sickly,
"so he can get you out of all the faster"

The throng quiets down a bit at this, and Sickly continues. "Please?" Fetching his rope, he then takes his adamantine weapon and smashes the lock clean off the cage.

"You can go over the wall, it is clear. But use the rope. Others have fallen." He holds up the rope. Miyako returns to Sickly and turns to look at the prisoners. "Please answer my friend's question. Are there any Riftwardens among you, or do you know the whereabouts of any Riftwardens?"The prisoners seem taken aback but one speaks up.

"Can we just go out the gate? Most of us are too weak for that climb."

Not waiting for a response, many of the prisoners run free, one of them taking the rope wordlessly. Still looking for signs of the Riftwardens, Sickly moves on to the next cage to bust the lock off that one too. The prisoners run out, but one remains behind, looking suspiciously at the group.

"You're seeking Riftwardens? Why?"

Outside, in the courtyard, Sidney utters a few commands to his eagles and watches as they fly up, into the sky, each taking a different cardinal direction. Heartbeats pass into seconds and each one winks out of existence, none of them giving a signal to indicate they spotted trouble. Saarai, after everyone is up and healed, and Miyako offers her a hand up, says "That was close, but we haven't much time. I could try to disable the door so it is harder for them to get through. Though maybe sticking together is a better idea," she adds.

"Whatever we do, let's do quickly!"

While her companions question the prisoners, she moves to the courtyard to watch the door to main gate. Then, following some shouting and a clang of metal breaking, a number of people begin to stream out of the warehouse. Several, maybe four, go for the wall, with a rope in hand, but more, perhaps eight, head towards the door you all entered the courtyard through. There is a second smashing noise, and then more people begin to run out. Again, almost all of these go to the courtyard door.

Saarai, will you interfere with them attempting to go out the main door to this compound? We should resolve this before you get to any disabling. EDIT--Yes, you are. OK, thanks!

Sidney, you've got a couple more actions you could take in this long-round. Saarai, I don't have anything from you, but you're up at about half-way through the long-round. If there's something you'd like to do, please tell me.

"We didn't clear the front." Sickly responds, to the question about fleeing that way, "Might be more guards... and the gate... " His voice trails off and he watches helplessly as many of the prisoners run that way anyway.

He seems momentarily relieved to see the man stay behind, though startled to get asked another question. "'S'posed to rescue them all." He offers visibly wilting under the remaining man's suspicious gaze. "Need to find the others." The last comes out almost a whisper.

Gruugdúrz approaches the lone prisoner talking to Sickly about Riftwardens.

"We're here to rescue the captured Riftwardens."
"We understood they were to be killed for sport"
"We want to get them, and us, out of Rahadoum with all speed."
"Can you do us a favour and help us find them?"

@Sidney & GM: I fully healed Sidney in this post, which was my round 29.

Round 30:
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

"We're here to rescue the Riftwardens," Miyako tells the prisoner who stayed behind. "Do you know where we can find them?"

Sense Motive on the prisoner, just in case: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

The only ones who still have severe wounds are Sickly and Miyako herself. Seeing as Sickly told her to heal other first, Miyako decides to cast a healing spell on herself.

CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Miyako -16

I will continue the conversation with the prisoner during the following rounds, but since the GM told us that we'll proceed all the way up to round 38 I'll briefly post my others actions for those rounds below.

Round 31:
Miyako casts another of her healing spells on herself.

CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Miyako -8

Round 32:
And again, Miyako casts a healing spell on herself.

CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Miyako fully healed

Round 33:
Pretty sure Sickly will accept healing now, Miyako walks over to him and places her hand on his shoulder. A warm, orange glow emits from her hand as she casts a healing spell on him.

CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Sickly -9

Round 34:
Seeing Sickly's still no longer drastically wounded, she figures she'll use her own healing wand to heal the last of his wounds.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Sickly's fully healed

Round 35:
With Sickly now fully healed, Miyako takes a look around. She notices there's still a tiny scratch on Gruugdùrz's nose. It bothers her. A lot. So she decides to walk over to Gruugdùrz again and tap him with her own wand.

CLW, rolling for the heck of it: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Gruugdùrz's fully healed.

"Your nose just looked weird like that," she explains to Gruugdùrz.

Round 36:
Miyako puts her healing wand away and starts scratching her ear. It itches.

Round 37:
The itch is really annoying.

Round 38:
The itch is gone.

A rail-thin Taldan man, his hands both broken in many places, gingerly steps forward, considering your words. When he sees Miyako cast several healing spells, he pauses,

"A follower of Daikitsu here? You are a long way from home, young lady."

He steps out of the cage and over to the wall, giving the wizard's body a distasteful look. Wincing, he takes a pouch off the wall and hands it Miyako.

"Here, I know they'd left this here to pay their daemons. There were four of us. I've seen Mikael and Jahani several times since we were captured. I suspect they are underground. I can show you where the stairs leading down are, but I don't know much else about the compound. And without my staff, and my hands broken like this," he shows his swollen, purpled hands, several fingers bent strangely, "I'm not much help liberating them. I've not seen Imaga since the raid. She is a Garundi woman with close-shorn hair. Jahani is also a Garundi woman with tattoos on the backs of her hands. Mikael is a Chelish man with dark brown hair."

He pauses, the magnitude of his freedom becoming apparent to him. "Who are you people? Who sent you? I thought we were going to die in here."

The group in front of the door to the outer courtyard argues for a moment or two over the body of the guard laying on the ground there. One takes the bow, another takes the flail, a third pulls the shield off the body's back, and a fourth rummages through the body's pouches while a fifth takes the boots and puts them on. They howl at the missing keys, until one of their number spots them, still hanging from the door where the he left them before being shot. A sixth freed slave quickly works the lock and throws open the door with a muted cheer.

Glancing over her shoulder, Saarai sees the other group has tied off their rope using the rungs of the ladder to the warehouse roof, and are preparing to go over the wall.

This is about round 36. Everyone's healed now.

Haven't done anything this minute yet, but talk to the guy

Sickly looks relieved to have found one of the Riftwardens they were sent for, though his face gets worried as the man explains the others are probably still inside. He also is not sure about the condition of the man's hands.

Is this something a healing spell would fix? Or does one need to set the fingers and stuff first... and how long would that take?

As the taldan man asks about his rescuers, he mutters "No time." And starts ushering him towards the main building.
"Show us where. The guards will be here soon. We have to hurry."

The pale dwarf heads directly over to main building to head inside to find the others.

Has Saarai managed to work on it? Or are the prisoners taking too long at the other door?

He will immediately go through and groan slightly, as he spots all the possible locations to search.

Without any other direction, he will head towards the nearest door, check to make sure the others are coming too, and open it!

Unknown rounds talking to riftwarden... 2 rounds moving to door and opening it. Another moving to next door and opening that.

If a door is locked, and we have no key, he'll smash it open with his hammer (or Grug can!)... though he'd like to leave the main door to the courtyard undamaged, so Saarai can secure it behind them.

As Saarai considers what to do, the freed slaves at the door act.

This is Round 37, as your companions enter the Slaver House

"I'm going!" says one, and in a group, a cluster of eight charge through into the first courtyard.

Prisoners have a CMD of 13, so they have no way of evading the trap that they spring.

There is a scream of pain as the first group attempts to rush through the courtyard to the main gate. The ground erupts in claw-like, rubbery black manacles, which grasp them and rend their flesh, shooting sparks of sour-smelling black lightning through their forms. Two of the manacles begin banging against an alarm bell hanging from the corner of the warehouse.

1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Each has 17hp, and an 11 Constitution. I'll use stats for the Barmaid in the PRD.

The first wave of eight is caught, and writhes in terrible pain, unable to escape the magical trap.

The second group of eight wait at the door, horrified by what they see, unwilling to attempt rushing past the effect which blocks their escape. Several turn and run back to the group of four at the rope, leaving four to stare out at the courtyard in fear.

This leaves Saarai at round 37/38. The others have entered the house, where they are on the map.

I was referring to the rounds of fatigue a bloodrager, like a barbarian, has after coming out of rage.
Two rounds of fatigue per round spent in rage.
Gruugdúrz was in a state of rage for 17 rounds.

Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2

And now onward to round 39-48.

With the Riftwarden guiding you, you pass through the main hall, an opulent reception area, to the rear southwestern corner, where he indicates a closed door.

"Through this door, there is a hall to the right, to some clerks' offices. Directly across is another door, and through that, into the basement dungeons, where we were kept and questioned. There is a stair down, and then the halls where the slaves are kept. We had infiltrated that far, battled a couple of Adepts, when two of our number were dominated, and things turned bleak."

Move your selves up to the next door, where the Riftwarden is, and give me a basic plan for going through that door and the next. This is the layout he can tell you. He's unaware of what is down the hallway now. He wasn't part of planning the previous mission; his role didn't involve gathering intelligence during the attack.

Sovereign Court

NG Dwarf Barbarian 9 / Fighter 1

Umm... wasn't going to go that way... Sickly had 3 rounds that last section... was spending the rest opening doors up here.

Not searching, but at the very least, looking to make sure there's no prisoners. This '10 rounds at a time' thing kind of makes this hard without GM responses.

So open door, move to next. Could have gotten at least the entire right side of the building looked at.

The Riftwarden guy doesn't know where all the others are does he? So we have to look up here too!

Hell, if Gruug looked on the other side, we'd have them all looked into by now, barring locked doors. And even that is a minor delay

Was there a reason we couldn't?

Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2

Sure, then let me note that for you. I had presumed you'd actually spent the time talking with and listening to the Riftwarden, rather than wandering off while he was speaking. And you did tell him, "no time," and "show us where," so I figured you wanted to follow him to that extent. That's ok, though. If you want to take the time to open those doors and see what's inside, that's no problem.

As the Riftwarden heads across the reception area to the southwest door, Sickly opens the northeast door, and looks at the area inside. These appear to be bedchambers, although they appear vacated at a quick glance, and a common area. The door to the south stands open, and a food preparation table is visible, even from here.

"Those were some of the adepts' quarters, but I haven't seen them for a day or two," says the Riftwarden. "And that other room was for making refreshments and meals for prospective buyers. All part of their cover as slavers and not a band of psychotic daemon summoners." He leans against the wall, catching his breath. "Once we found the dungeons, we knew that was where our target was, so we went straight down. If I had to guess, I'd bet their clerks work in offices on the other side," he gestures to the western side of the structure. "But none of that was important to us, going in. If you're looking for more slaves, they're going to be downstairs."

Because I'm doing this in blocks, because we'd handle it much faster at the table and cover the matter in a few moments, I'm trying to do it in a reasonably quick manner. If there's something specific you want covered, put it in a list for me. If something pops up, we can roll back if you need it.

Sovereign Court

NG Dwarf Barbarian 9 / Fighter 1

talking is typically a free action? So I can't imagine it took that long to get the gist. =)

Sickly looks looks at the kitchen area, and all the doors, then back at the others uncertain.

"You said you could had magic to locate a creature? Could you use it to find one of the others?"

Was it just the missing focus item or can he not cast at all with his fingers? (The former is a concentration check, the later, a bit harder to bypass =))
He thought that Mikael and Jahani were downstairs, but didn't know where the other, Imaga was... perhaps that will help narrow it down?

And checking the map, looks like Saarai and Miyako have adjusted. EDIT-- ah, the dangers of not refreshing before posting. Ok, I'll continue momentarily.

Where are the stairs going down?
I didn't look closely enough at where I am on the map.
Time for more Espresso!

I put a red arrow pointing to said stairs down! (they're off to the left)

Right; in that case:

Round ¿40?
Gruugdúrz goes through the door in the hallway to get closer to the stairs going down.
Keeping alert, as best he can.

@ terraleon: same thing as my last post
Not holding his falchion in front of him.
Certainly not while fatigued.
Just ready to draw it at a moment's notice.

Sidney grabs his glaive in his clawed hands. Ready to proceed.

Sorry! I got buried in the snowpocalypse, but should be back to normal tonight and going forward.

UGH! SORRY! STUPID STORM! AND CHILDREN HOME FROM IT! AUGH!

As Gruugdúrz bursts the door, he comes into the hallway beyond, as the Riftwarden described. There is a door directly across from him, with a small window open. Looking through that window is another guard, who, when Gruugdúrz enters the hall, gives a startled look and slams the view port shut.

I'll continue with the obvious here

The group reforms again, and this time Sickly smashes open the door with two quick blows, allowing Gruugdúrz and Sidney to rush inside, where the guard drops his pole arm and puts out his hands, palms up.

"Mercy! Mercy! I surrender! I surrender!"

His back is against the wall here, a small table in front of him, along the southern wall. A book lies open on it, with an inkwell and quill alongside. To the left of him, there is a set of stone stairs, leading down into shadows. Sidney's eagle perches on the rail, looking down and then looking back at the guard. Both of the doors down the hall from Miyako are closed, although she is fairly certain she smells smoke, but faintly.

I've adjusted your positions on the map for this second breach. The guard does not appear threatening. It is approximately Round 42. How do you wish to respond to this guard?

The guard is quickly pummeled into a rough sleep and awakes hours later with a nasty headache. The breach continues.
