"Pretty pleeeaaase?"
Gruugdúrz
|
"Hmph! Sounds like it might be a bit harder to find Madoc."
"If the Pure Legion …"
"Stodgy legion, more like!"
"… wants him, he's probably in hiding."
"Where would someone hide from the Pure Legion, Akhina?"
"Hypothetically, of course."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 (meh … again)

"Maybe we're in the market to buy some copper...where would we put out feelers for that?" Saarai asks.
| GM V |
"I do not know why they would be looking for him but it cant bode well." She says. "I honestly dont know. They didt seem to know who he was or have a real discription of him. So he may still be living normally. Sometimes thats the best way to remain unseen." She adds.
Saarai Shae

Saarai asks around to try to find a place to buy copper, but only comes to dead ends.

Miyako walks into the stall and takes her time to thoroughly inspect it.
Perception, take 20: 20 + 4 = 24
Sidney Moncrief
|
Sidney decides to show off, and lifts some heavy barrels and boxes for the merchants. He winks to the prettier ladies in the market.
"I could use some help here. Can I rent that empty stall and put in my strong man booth? Anyone know its history, maybe the guy who had it before he took off?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

"Yeah, my cousin used to sell copper here, but we haven't heard form him forever and our family is worried sick. Can you tell me where he's packed up to?" Saarai asks a nearby merchant.

"Hi! Do you know the man who used to occupy that stall? I'm trying to find him."

The two closest vendors seem to be in a contest as to who can give you the best information. But both end up pointing you towards the racetrack! They also warn you to be careful as the pure legion is also looking for him but promise to keep you guys a secret.
Head that way?
Azir is known for its swift, sleek dogs, and breeders often congregate at a racetrack near the outskirts of town to test their hounds’ speed. Today the track has drawn a boisterous crowd of gamblers who shout bets, laugh, and occasionally curse their luck following a bad race. With so many people seeking relaxation and distraction, the track is a hotbed for gossip and news.
Another round of checks as you ask around and dont forget you arent to only ones looking for him so getting people to not share that you exist is good!
Saarai Shae

Saarai continues to ask around for her 'cousin' the copper merchant.
"The Pure Legion doesn't want anything said about him...you haven't seen that I've been asking about him, have you?" Saarai asks a contact.

AFter asking around for a while you find several patrons know of Maroc, having whiled away several hours with him earlier in the day. He had complained that he needed coin for slaves and hoped to earn it through a few good bets, but his luck was terrible. After losing big, he decided to take a soak at the Jistka Bathhouse to forget his troubles.
Saarai Shae
|
Saarai starts walking toward the bath house.
"Plus, some of you need a good bath. Let's call this two birds with one stone."
Miyako_Okori
|
"It's not a mixed bath, is it?" Miyako asks with a slightly worried tone in her voice. "Or is that what public bath means around these parts? 'Cause where I'm from that's different from a mixed public bath, but I've heard that doesn't hold true everywhere."
| GM V |
The Jistkan Baths is one of the oldest bathhouses in Azir, and local legend claims the building dates back to the long-gone Jistkan civilization that once ruled northern Rahadoum. Any such evidence of this ancient heritage have been lost to centuries of repairs, yet the well-maintained marble facade nonetheless advertises an elegant facility. Any are welcome in the mixed-gender bathhouse so long as they do not disturb the other guests, and the most exclusive baths are located down a spiral staircase.
"Hello, hello." You are greeted by a well groomed young man in a uniform of the house. "Baths i presume?" After you say yes. "Good good. That will be 1 gold piece each. Lovely. This way." He leads you down a hallway to a locker room, handing each of you a soft and exquisite bath robe. "Please please. Leave all your gear here. Weapons and armor get in the way when patrons are trying to relax in the baths." With that he bows and leaves you all to change.
Whats the plan? What do you do?
Gruugdúrz
|
"Oh well, just so long as my gear doesn't get mussed up."
"And it stays put!"
"Oh well. At least I can still fight without any of my weapons."
Gruugdúrz stows his gear, changes into his birthday suite …
Not really caring if anyone gets a good fright look or not.
… and then gets into the robe provided.
"Comfy! Okay, let's go wash. And look for this Maroc fellow."
Sidney Moncrief
|
Sidney is reluctant to give up his glaive, but he does so.
His mage armor, and anyone else wanting it, is no encumbrance.
Sidney seems to enjoy the chance to exhibit himself.
Saarai Shae
|
Saarai smirks at the situation.
"Come on, Sickly! This will be fun!"
She changes into the robe, knowing her magic will provide a good backup.
"Let's go find our copper merchant!"
| GM V |
The lockers do lock and you have a little key so your things will be safe.
The chilled bath of the Jistka Bathhouse is in the lower level of the structure, a mixed-gender facility where the modest either soak in light robes or seek other places. The air is cool and humid and the lighting is dim. Faint lanterns reflect off the water and the sound of running water echoes off the tile floor and walls.
You see a man that matches the description you have but he doesn't seem to notice you or just doesn't care.
Gruugdúrz
|
Gruugdúrz quietly pionts out the man that might be the merchant to the others.
Without waiting for a response, he casually goes and sits near the man.
"Afternoon! My name is Gruugdúrz.
"I'm new to this city."
"How about yourself?"

Saarai slides into the bath next to Gruugdurz.
"Let's not beat around the bush, my half-orc friend. Yes, we know you're trying to stay on the down-low," she says to the man. "And this is a strange place to sell copper," Saarai offers. "But we're in the market. We promise not to say anything, too."

Miyako peeks around the corner of the changing room, afraid to enter the bathhouse naked. She grabs the towel she received and wraps it around her body, easily concealing her tiny frame. while firmly clasping the towel Miyako steps into the bathhouse.
She flushes red when seeing how many naked men there are, turns 180 degrees, and goes back into the changing room.
