Giri moves into the room and hops to the corner as he draws both of his daggers, hoping to flank the beetle later on.
Crystal scampers back into the room and shoots a ray of ice blue magic at the beetle. The beetle makes an awkward squeaky sound when the ray connects.
Kyra moves into the room and attacks, but her strike's ill-aimed and the blade misses completely.

Kendra's second attack misses just as badly as the first. Despite her cocky demeanor, Crystal screws up royally by freezing the wall instead of the beetle.
Giri stabs a single dagger through the beetle armor, making it squeak eerily.
Kyra wants to attack again, but steps into a pile of the giant dung beetle's dung and slips.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The beetle turns to face Giri and tries to bite him, but Giri dodges the beetle's fangs.

Combat's over!
The beetle taken care of, you head into the corridor beyond the door Giri just opened. You follow it to a broad chamber, where the remains of a small fire smolder in the center, letting off a plume of oily smoke. Fed by a heap of burning gear, debris, and more than few bones, the fire casts a flickering light across the walls of this room, partially obscured by the veil of smoke. The smoke in this chamber is quite harsh, causing eyes to water and breathing to become labored.

Giri takes a few steps into the room and upon seeing the thing he freezes up. Eyes wide in horror/fear he stands still in the doorway.
Seeing Giri has grown up in a secluded place, and him being Giri, he'll take no action upon seeing this weird thing. Should the thing come close to him though, he will react.
Giri lashes out with his dagger, regaining some of his composure.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Dmg: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Giri freezes up completely. The shadow approaches him and Giri snaps out of it, lashing out with his dagger. The dagger passes right through the shadow, and it's immediately clear Giri's weapon can't touch it.

The shadow tries to touch Giri, but Giri jumps back and avoids the touch.
From way in the back, Crystal's unable to see what exactly is attacking Giri from around the corner. Even when she catches a glimpse of a shadowy arm reaching out for Giri, she's unable to tell what it is.

What's Chasing you! I can't see with all the smoke?
In frustration because of all the people in the way and the smoke Crystal reaches back and pulls out the wand they found earlier.
Then she readies an action to shoot whatever she sees attacking the group up ahead.
Ready action: Shoot Wand of Magic Missiles at first thing threatening my companions.

Seeing Giri run Kendra focuses and as her black axe appears to have burple enegy coming off of it, and as she rounds the corner she swipes her axe diagonally across at her would be enemy.
Swift action for Arcane Strike, 5 ft step and attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
I think I've hit once with this character, yeesh. What a waste of an ability.

@Giri: I suspect drawing the AoO in a hasty retreat is part of your roleplay, but you do know the withdraw action's available, don't you? Figured I'd ask, to make sure you want to draw the AoO and wouldn't rather avoid it.
@Crystal: Go ahead and roll for readied actions. It helps me move us forward if and when they're triggered.

Giri withdraws from the shadow, making room for Kendra to round the corner. She infuses her axe with arcane magic, attacks, and of course misses her target. Crystal sends forth a magic missile that zones in on the shadow and hurts it.

Kyra channels positive energy, but the energy is too weak to harm the shadow.

Kendra attacks, but the shadow sees an opening and also attacks her. She quickly moves to dodge the shadow's grasp, but misses her own attack due to this. Seeing as Kyra calls for everyone to fall back, Kendra then turns around and moves as close to Kyra as possible. Which isn't very close, because Crystal and Giri are blocking the passage.
The shadow rounds the corner, giving Crystal her first full view of it. She instantly releases her magic missile, which slams right into it. The shadow lets out a pained wail.
Incorporeal Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 Strength Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
The shadow closes the distance with Kendra and attacks her again. Her back turned toward it, Kendra doesn't see it come. The moment the shadow touches her, Kendra feels nearly all of her strength drain from her body.

Giri moves forward into the hall and upon seeing the creature again he bolts back. Joining the rest of the group. He seems very shaken, not sure what to do.

Crystal's already back in the previous room by the time her magic missile slams into the shadow. Giri moves forward into the hall, but quickly rejoins Crystal and Kyra after spotting the creepy shadow creature.
Kyra thinks hard, hoping to recall information on the scary thing she just saw. The only thing she can recall is that it's definitely an undead.
Kendra and Kyra can still take actions before the shadow's up again.

FYI Kendra, you can not take a 5ft step on any round you do any other movement. What you are trying to do is covered by the Withdraw action. (Full round, move 2 your speed and the square you start in is not considered threatened.)

Kyra will hold her action to see if the shadow comes after them again. Once it comes close, she will cast her one Cure Light Wounds on the undead... "My energy is tapped, this is one the spell I have that can hurt undead..."

Kendra withdraws from the shadow, and Kyra readies a cure light wounds spell for when the undead comes close.
The undead, however, doesn't enter the room you're in. It moves up to the door, where it watches you for a brief moment. It then turns back around, and disappears back into the corridor.

Botting Kyra to stick with her plan and stay in the room.
As everyone stays inside the room, Giri pulls out a vial of acid and sneaks back into the corridor that leads to the shadow's room.

Giri looks thoroughly weakened, his face pale and half shrivelled. He withdraws back into the previous room, not having the strength to do anything else.

Giri looks into the hallway leading to the room and shudders.
"Wrets rrrrest."
He turns around and makes his way to the front entrance of the dungeon. He scurries up a tree and makes himself comfortable. He watches the entrance closely, to see if anyone is watching him. If he sees a moment no one is watching he quickly grabs a small thing from his pack.
Giri grabs a small frog from his pack, nearly shaking. He holds it in front of him and licks it before returning it to his pack. His eyes go wide and a smile appears on his face.
