While Crystal, Giri, and Kendra flip the switches and run past the, now open, traps to reach the door, Kyra sees the door open in front of her. Kyra quickly steps forward and holds the door open, allowing everyone else to pass into the space beyond before she does the same.
The map's been updated!
You end up in a corridor that splits of in two directions. The southeast part of the corridor then splits off again. All three paths you can choose from have a door at the end. The wailing is more intense inside the corridor than it was in the trap-filled room. It comes from beyond the southeasternmost door.

Giri has no trapfinding :P Just perception but I'll give it a whirl!
Giri makes his way forward and looks for traps, not doing a very good job. The wailing keeps catching his attention.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Mist and chill comes off Crystal's hands as she clenches her fists.
Be careful, I have you covered
She stays firmly by the door ready to attack anything that threatens her companions.
Ready action Acid Splash (Frost)
Acid Splash (frost) touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Giri inches towards the southern door, trying to be as quiet as possible.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
He listens closely at the door, trying to discern what is behind it.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
If he deems it safe he will beckon everyone forward and opens the door.

StephNyan |

The mournful wailing grows louder with each step toward the door at the end of this musty hallway. There are a host of bones strewn on the floor here, many of which are cracked and broken. Giri listens closely at the door and is fairly sure there's a very sad human wailing behind it.
When Giri tries to open the door, he discovers it's locked.

Crystal readies to blast through the door if something threatening comes through.
Acid Splash (cold, touch): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

In the small chamber beyond the door lies the body of a man sprawled in the center. Perched atop the corpse sits a man-sized brown and yellow beetle, trying to push the corpse into the corner where a pile of trash and filth awaits. the beetle turns toward you when you open the door with a lot of racket. It makes a bunch of awkward sounds aimed at you, but stays where it is.
@Crystal: I let you hold your attack, because the beetle isn't coming through the door. If you decide to attack anyway, you'll use the same rolls.

![]() |

"Hold on. Is the beetle trying to talk to us or something?"
Kendra holds for a moment to see the beetles reaction next.
"leave that man be and scuttle long beetle." She says firmly.
but if the beetle comes at her she'll attack with an overhead chop of her axe.
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Kendra waves her hand and four purple-white hued lights appear and float quickly towards the beetle.
"Shoo, go beetle. Ugh don't make us have to fight you too. Did you kill that man?"

![]() |

Do you really think a lowly bug like that can talk? Crystal asks in a dismissive tone, but still she holds her attack, with the chill mist flowing off her right hand.

![]() |

Kendra snaps back. "Animals can communicate to those who know how to read them." Then looks back at the beetle with a teeny tiny bit of worry as she makes the lights move to chase the beetle off.

![]() |

Kendra keeps the lights moving away from them and makes the beetle go as far away as possible.
What do we see inside, is there another doorway in the chamber that we can run through? if so Kendra will signal to the group to run across and get through the door while the beetle is busy, if not then Kendra will signal to the group to get the body and pull it back here.

![]() |

See I told you, just a dumb bug attracted to light, Anyone with any sense knows bugs can't talk.
Crystal grabs her skirt to shorten it and allow her to run as she readies to follow Gimi and Kyra's lead.
She will stay near the other two if they try to cross the room.

StephNyan |

Kendra leads the beetle to a corner of the room, where it stays busy trying to catch the lights. She then runs up to the corpse and, with help of everyone who follows her, picks it up. Now carrying the corpse, your group runs down the stairs that leads away from the beetle.
You didn't specify if you wanted to take the stairs or the door, but the door's very close to the beetle...
The stairs descend and, after some feet, directly ascend. You arrive in a lofty chamber. Half of the chamber has a lowered floor, with stairs on either side to reach the bottom. Standing next to the south door is a tall wooden statue of Kassen grasping a gigantic wooden shield in each hand. One of the shields is inscribed with the word “home,” while the other reads “family.” There's a second door to the north.
I updated the map. You're inside a new room, and I let you bring the corpse with you so you can still inspect it.

![]() |

"At least nothing immediately threatening in this chamber." Kendra says while searching the body for anything that can identify who it is and if they have anything on them that may help.

StephNyan |

Closer inspection of the corpse reveals the man's a villager from Kassen. Probably one of the men charged with installing the 'traps' meant to challenge the party of youths who were originally meant to visit the crypt and obtain the flame, before something creepy happened that required Pathfinders to take over.

![]() |

What are we planning to do with this? Crystal asks, putting down her the body she was helping to carry.
Then she goes and wipes her hands off the cleanest portion of the dead man's clothing that she sees.

![]() |

Giri shrugs, not sure what the customs are over here. At home most grippli would have been left to the forest if dead, no reason to risk another death. He moves to the door to the north and listens closely to see if he hears anything behind it.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
If he deems it safe he opens the door, if not he tells the group to be ready before opening it.

Faelyn's Pregen |

"I will say a prayer for his soul to reach the Boneyard safely. Then I suggest we leave him here for now. Perhaps we can retrieve the body and return it home once we have concluded our mission here."
With that, Kyra takes hold of her holy symbol and kneels next to the corpse. "Dawnflower, I beseech you to allow this fallen soul to reach their after life without the molestation that his earthly remains received from the denizens of this crypt."

![]() |

After the prayer is done, Crystal does a quick search of the the body to see if there is anything on him that they could use or that identify the man.

StephNyan |

Giri deems it safe to open the north door, and opens it. There's a corridor behind it.
This long corridor is flanked by a row of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues look like Kassen, and each one holds a longsword out in front of it. The blades of roughly half the statues are wrapped in leather padding.
Map updated.
Crystal searches the corpse for something to identify the man. She finds a handkerchief with the name 'John Doe' embroidered on it.

![]() |

How much do you want to bet some of those statues are traps?
Crystal stays well back from the statues but peers all around trying to see if she notices anything.
