Giri grabs a dagger and moves to flank the wolf that tripped Kendra. He croaks dangerously as he makes himself ready to attack.
Really glad once I have at least +1 BAB... A move action to grab weapons is a real pain...

StephNyan |

It sure is!
Giri grabs a dagger as he climbs out of the tree, and moves to flank the third wolf with Kendra.
#1: Bite, Flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 2 = 21 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Free Trip: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
The wolf that attacked the tree while Giri was in it moves over to Giri. It ends up flanking Giri with the other wolf, and attacks. It bites Giri and hurts him, but doesn't succeed in dragging Giri down.
#3: Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The other wolf stays focused on the prone Kendra, but misses her when it tries to bite her again.

Giri grabs his second dagger and attacks with the other one, aiming at the wolf he is flanking. He digs the knife deep into the wolf's neck, proving his deadliness once again.

Crystal moves around to get a clear shot at the standing wolf, then reaches back and makes a throwing motion.
An ice ball appears in her hand and she flings it at the wolf.
Snowball (touch) - shoot into melee: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 and (Fort 16) or be staggered for one round.
Go away dog! Can't you see where you are not wanted?

![]() |

Kendra, with her club, swats at the wolf trying to bite her knowing full well that trying to get up right now will just bring on another tooth filled greeting from the wolf.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Faelyn's Pregen |

Kyra continues to press the attack, hoping to end one of the threats and heal her wounded companions in a moment. "Hold strong, just a few moments longer and the light of Sarenrae shall wash away those bites."
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

StephNyan |

Giri digs his dagger into the flanked wolf's neck, taking it out. The others team up to bring the last wolf down with a cut, a smash, and a snowball to the face.
Combat's over!
The wolf in the net yelps. A quick inspection by Kyra reveals the downed wolves are both still alive, but slowly bleeding out.

Faelyn's Pregen |

"I do not know much about animals; however, I am not one for killing unless absolutely necessary. I think they may simply flee in fear. Perhaps we could put some rations near the treeline? I can heal them, but you must ensure they do not return, Kendra." With that, Kyra sends out a wave of healing powers into the clear to heal not only her companions, but the injured wolves as well!
Channel Positive Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4

![]() |

Giri nods, satisfied.
"Wrelllll done"
He croaks to everyone, sheathing his knives. Giri retrieves the net and takes his time carefully folding it.
I wasn't sure the nets would be useful... But turns our they are quite awesome.

![]() |

Kendra nods to Kyra.
Then she reaches into her backpack and pulls out a torch and sets it alight and reaches into her back for some of her dried meat rations and throws it as far as she can into the forest and shoo's the wolves away with the flames and shouts.
"Be gone from here! GO! You'll find no more meals here. GO!" and waves the flames at the wolves to chase them off abut winces a little as she stands on her bitten ankle.

StephNyan |

You heal the injured wolves back to walking capacity and free the other wolf. With a mixture of growls, snarls, and yelps they retreat back into the treeline. A while later you spot them eating the food, after which they leave the area.
The rest of the night passes uneventfully. The next day, you continue your journey through the Fangwood. You follow a path that will lead you to the shores of the Gray Lake, where you can refill their waterskins and stop for a quick rest. The trees eventually begin to thin, revealing a field of short, green grass that leads to the shores of the wide, calm lake reflecting the overcast sky above. A dense fog hangs over the center of the lake, obscuring the far side. Near the shore of the lake, a dark form lies next to the water.

![]() |

Crystal squints to see what the dark form next to the shore is.
What's that? Is that another body like the mayor talked about finding before?
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

![]() |

Giri squints at the body, not wanting to get too close, but sees nothing but the outline of the body. He shrugs at Crystal, not knowing either.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

![]() |

Crystal lets the others lead, lagging behind a bit to make sure she can freeze anything that might jump up on her fellow pathfinders.

StephNyan |

The form is actually the decayed body of a man.
Feel free to throw in a Survival check as well! :)

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
As Crystal nears the body she says: Hey there is a pouch and hilt sticking out of the weeds over there!
But after pointing them out she stays away from them and back from the body/lake, trying to keep watch for anything that might be a danger, as something obviously killed the man.

Giri moves over to the man before going through his belongings.
"Threse laaarger city bribbbit clothes, wraat is wreeeep threse shinies?"
The little frog man says whilst holding up the newly minted coins.

Kendra is very wary.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
And looks around and approaches the hilt and takes up the sword.
A warrior never leaves a good sword laying about. And this one looks very well made.

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Knowledge: Nature (Untrained): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Kyra looks over the decayed body with a critical eye. "This man has been dead for several months. Huh. Look at his ribs, looks similar to what the river pythons do to their prey back home. He was likely compressed to death by some sort of constricting creature."

StephNyan |

There's nothing else you notice, and so you move on. You walk for about 3 hours, and the trail leads ever deeper into the Fangwood, through a twisting maze of trees and confusing ravines. As it tops a small rise, a broad valley spreads out before it, the opposite side of which looks like a writhing serpent. Yet between the two lies a steep hill sloping down into the valley. A cold rain starts to fall, making the ground slick and treacherous.
You have to navigate the slope downward, and will have to be careful.
Acrobatics checks are required to move on. Doing smart things will give you bonuses! :)

![]() |

I have no desire to rest in this rain. Unless you know it will end soon?
She looks at the slope down
What about tying some ropes to the trees? If we had something to hold on to it would make the climb much easier.

![]() |

"Rooope could wrrork briiiibit"
Giri goes on hands and feet and scrabbles down the slope, not caring very much for the rain or the rope.
Climb: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
I think that should be enough, Giri being used to wet weather and slippery surfaces. Otherwise...

![]() |

Kendra rolls her eyes and pulls a rope out of her backpack and looks around for a tree to tie it on to. Then yells down to Giri as she tosses the other end of the rope to him.
"Giri, catch this willya! And tie the other end to one of those trees for us so we can come down. Thanks buddy."

![]() |

Crystal tries to help tie off the rope on the top of the slope and gets herself ready to climb down once both ends are secure.

Faelyn's Pregen |

Kyra looks at the slope and takes a few minutes to remove her chain shirt while the others go about securing the rope and stuffs it into her backpack. She then looks at the rope and the steep slope. "While its certainly not dignified, it is more dignified than breaking my neck." With that, she takes the rope in both her hands and sits down onto the muddy slope to use the rope to assist in slowly sliding down the hill....
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 9 Unknown what sort of bonuses this would garner.

StephNyan |

And Kendra also reaches the bottom without much trouble. Only Crystal's left standing atop the slope.
Acrobatics, Crystal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Following Kyra's example, Crystal makes her way down the slope as well.
You move deeper into the valley. An archway of stone is set into the side of a small hill at the bottom of it. Moss has overgrown many of the details, but one is still quite clear. The keystone of the arch is carved with a flame symbol with a stylized rune in the middle. Beyond the archway is a darkened tunnel that leads to a pair of massive wooden doors, one of which is slightly ajar. A pair of horses and a trio of ponies lie slaughtered next to the archway, each corpse still tied to a post set into the ground nearby. A swarm of flies hangs lazily in the air above them.

![]() |

Obviously somthing killed those beasts of burden.
She looks doubtfully at the door.
Does someone want to scout and see what's behind the door?

![]() |

Giri Moves inside the passage and slinks away into the darkness, his dark green skin functioning as quite good camouflage. He moves up to the door and peers inside.
stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 He has darkvision

![]() |

Crystal stays back and motions for the others to go help the frog.
Better to let the strong ones do this servant's work of opening doors...

StephNyan |

There's a loud *CREEEAAAK* as the heavy doors swing open, the faint light from outside revealing a long chamber with risen platforms on either side. A faded painting of Kassen is on the far wall. The room appears to be the site of a gruesome battle, with two bodies piled in the center and a number of skeletons scattered around. An echoing wail can be heard somewhere in the distance, beyond this foul chamber.
There are eight skeletons in various places around this chamber. Of the eight, two are smashed and broken, while the other six are intact. You watch the intact skeletons rise while you stand in the doorway.

Ugg... Moldy Bones walking! Don't they know they should be dead?
She holds out her arm and spreads her fingers as a wide burst of chilled air blasts from her hand. It shoots forward and coats the ground ahead of the pathfinders with a thin coating of ice, making the whole area amazingly slick.
That should make some of them lay back down...
Casts Grease under the four skeletons in front of the party.

If a skeleton falls, Giri will target that one if within reach.
Giri lashes out with his daggers at the closest skeleton, his eyes wide with fear and confusion. He fumbles and nearly drops one of his daggers.
