Marcel moves over to one of the goblins, and slashes at it violently. "Outbred eh, perhaps you are actually right bread?"

I wasn't sure if I would confirm or not, so since I didn't, Marcel will attempt to parry if goblin 3 attacks him.
Lasher - Eidolon of Merrick |
I believe I have a direct line for Charge, full power attack with Pounce. If not, feel free to adjust rolls
Lasher charges goblin #1:
bite: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) - 1 + 2 + 4 = 18
crunch: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
claw: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (8) - 1 + 2 + 4 = 13
scratch: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
claw: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (9) - 1 + 2 + 4 = 14
scratch: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Revvy Bitterleaf |
With the half squares and the corner it's a bit iffy if you'd have to go through Calistan..but let's roll with it as it doesn't have a huge impact right now
Lasher pounces on of the poor goblin and it goes down under the weight of the cat like entity...and then it stops moving

It took some time for the slow witted goblins to come up a reply to Marcel insult...but finally you hear a few different goblins respond
"....we's no be bread! we be pies!"
"We be Left! Not right!"
"There be bread?! Me hungry now!"
Samuel Deland |
Samuel moves to engage one of the goblins, coming to Marcels aid.
Masterwork Longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The dice do not like Samuel this scenario!
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Sam decides to wait to see what the goblins will do next.
Goblins 2 drops his bow and pulls out a short sword step up towards Aviendha and take a swing at her, To hit Aviendha AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 but even though he tries to aim for an exposed piece of her body (which is somewhere located around her midsection) he fails to hit it.
Goblin 3 will drop his bow and pulls out his short sword and attacks 1S2M: 1d2 ⇒ 2 Marcel To hit AC Marcel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 I'll admit I'm not 100% sure how riposte works..do you have to be hit for it to trigger or just attacked? Going to assume it's on attack and not hit for now..please correct me if I'm wrong As the goblin swings his weapon Marcel intercepts the weapon with a flourish and with a twirl is able to change the direction as to hit the goblin in a counter dropping it to the floor before it can finish it's attack.
Goblin 5 will shoot his bow at Lasher To hit Lasher AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 but he fails to hit before he moves away from the edge of the balcony
Goblin 4 tries to do the same against Samuel To hit Samuel AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 but his arrow bounces harmlessly off Samuel's armor.
"You leaves now! This is our place!"

"I take no orders from lowly stinking gnome wannabee's!" Aviendha yells as she takes a mighty swing with her spiked gauntlet(the one holding the whip) and punches the the attacking goblin (nr 2) straight in the face.

crit: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
I think the poor gobsie is blown to the other side of the room ;).
Marcèl Lebeda |
You understand it correctly, if the attacker would normally fail to hit me, I can still riposte, in fact it's easier if they roll low. If the ability required them to hit me, it would be worded a bit differently, as I would get to use the ability after knowing the results.
Acrobatics/Derring-Do: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 7 + (3) = 12
Marcel attempts a running jump to grab onto the platform above, but fails.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Marcel tries to get to the balcony but doesn't reach high enough.
Sam moves into the room and shoots his crossbow trying to hit one of the goblins which he can barely make out, but his bolt is deflected by the railing. (after spending last round casting mage armor and getting his crossbow ready..I'm going to assume you already had your crossbow out and you used your action to load it..since I'm pretty sure you don't carry around a loaded crossbow to draw.)

Actually I was carring it loaded already. Is this bad? I never saw anything on the crossbow rules that would make it a problem. But then I am no expert....
I'm not sure there's actual rules for it in pathfinder..but generally there are a few problems with walking around with a medieval loaded crossbow when not having it wielded, there's normally nothing preventing the bolt from falling out, there's nothing preventing it from accidentally going off when the trigger is jostled (which is easy to do since the trigger isn't like a modern gun but could be half the size of the crossbow and keeping tension of the string is a sure way to reduce it's strength. I'm fine with you walking around with a loaded crossbow in hand while adventuring though..I just have some issues with a loaded crossbow hanging somewhere from your body/backpack ready to be used.

It's been a day so I'll have Samuel, Merrick and Lasher ready to attack in case on of the goblins comes close enough for them to attack to keep the pace.
You can hear the goblins on the balcony moving, but you don't see them peek over the side of the railing and you don't notice any arrows being fired at you either.
Since there are no goblins left downstairs with you...out of combat for now
What do you want to do?
Samuel Deland |
Sorry for not posting. I can't access the map at work and my internet at home is having issues at the moment (hopefully should be resolved soon) so I wasn't sure where I was.
Samuel smiles gratefully at Calistan.
"Thankyou friend." He mouths the words clearly so the wanderer can clearly read his lips.
"I suspect the goblinoids are regrouping, we should push on before they get the drop on us."
His wounds almost entirely healed, the Andoran pushes on further assuming the others follow suit.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Hmm..not sure I can do much about that..I don't think you can attach anything in a PM can you? If it's going to be a while I might be able to email you screenshots of the map so you at least have an idea of what the rooms look like
I'm going to assume that Samuel means to go for the only open exit on this floor
As Samuel pushes on further he quickly find out that the exit leads to a staircase..but it doesn't lead to the balcony above, after a turn (or 2) it seems to lead away (to the east) away from this room ..and even into another room.
(Do you want to continue or do something else?)
Calistan the Wanderer |
If Samuel is still hurt, then Calistan will expend another charge from his wand and follow Samuel through to the next hallway/room.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 :(
Samuel Deland |
It's okay. My flatmate got back from his holiday yesterday and sorted it out.
Thanks Calistan, that's me fully healed.
Samuel progresses further down the stairway and corridor, acting as a point guard while the orders complete their search. Once they join him he will progress forward.
Aviendha-RK |
Aviendha stamps her foot impatiently next to the open passageway.
"If you guys are done, let's just go through the open door."
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As everyone follows Samuel through the corridor into the next room you find that it's empty and there's another corridor on the other side of the room.
You walk into the room to explore it better when suddenly the floor gives way out from underneath Samuel and Aviendha..you feel a noticeable lurch as the plates start to collapse giving you a slight warning as it's happening.

Aviendha falls down with a clash and a bang. From the pit you can hear her yelling "Blasted fiery hells! I hate traps! Someone tie a rope down and toss it to us. Damn armor is too heavy to get out otherwise!"
Aviendha-RK |
Aviendha piks up the things she finds and climbs up using the rope.
climb: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Thanks to the rope and her own strength she can easily climb up.
"Found a backpack with some gold, silver and a scroll down there. Can anyone figure out what the scroll does?" She says grumpily.
Marcèl Lebeda |
"Well, I suppose you falling down there wasn't all bad, we likely wouldn't have noticed the backpack if you hadn't fallen." Marcel says, attempting to insert a silver lining to the situation.
Samuel Deland |
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Samuel tumbles down landing besides Aviendha, grunting in pain. Rubbing his injuries as he stands up, muttering to himself.
"It's becoming embarrassing how often I'm falling off or down things. Everyone okay?"
Climb: 1d20 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 3 = 0
The Andoran fumbles around at the bottom of the rope, unable to make the climb.
Aviendha-RK |
Aviendha walks to Calistan and says slowly and in a louder voice while miming at the same time.
"We fell in hole. We are hurt. Can you heal us?"
Aviendha-RK |
I don't want to leave anything behind us. So lets take a peak once we are healed and out of the hole

As you move back and take a look
you see at the south corner of this hall stands a large stone door. Seven thumb-sized sockets are embedded in the door, arranged in a ring around a starburst design.
After Marcel studies the door for a while (taking 20 for a 25 perception) he's unable to find any trap..but he does find out that the door is locked.
Samuel Deland |
Samuel attempts again to climb up and rejoin his allies.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 3 = 16
"Well, that was embarrassing."
Samuel moves to the point as they move to investigate the door.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Just to recap, you fought some goblins in a room with a balcony and a closed magic door ..you then searched for hidden exits there and didn't find any, you then walked out the room through a small tunnel leading away from said room which led you into a pit trap and after falling in an climbing out you went back to take a look at the magic door to find out it's closed and you can't open it.
The room with the pit trap leads further away.
Samuel Deland |
Right, sorry I got confused there. I thought the magic door was in the pit trap room. Right, continue past the pit trap then?
Aviendha-RK |
"Thank you Calistan. Now let us move on and keep an eye out for more traps."
