Victim of a drunk driver. Bad thing is while I was out, my cousin didn't make it so I missed his funeral as well. Having mixed feelings about it and continous pins and needles. Not painful but like an itch you can't scratch and it drives you wild.

First off, I want to offer my condolences as well Kalaron. I am very sorry.
As for the game, it just came to my attention that restoration costs way less before the neg levels become permanent. Like 900 GP less or so.
I think we're trapped inside, so wexmay have to chance rolling to see if at least some of them go away.

I can cast grease on you to help you escape, but without metagaming TOO much, that dino is close to dropping. A good hit or two from me would probably kill it. So you should get free somehow this turn if the dice don't suck.
Then you could fall back. While none of the rest if us are quite as good, with haste up we can probably manage to take on one enemy, or pull back if things get too bad.

I was also thinking it is close to dropping...I will delay until others have gone in the hopes it does. I also have +4 AC vs Giants...
But perhaps we should stay closer to the door in case we need to reset this thing.

Shayla, if I may, since I'm about to be chewed up next round and could very likely die (again). I just wanted to throw some rough estimates out as Clandelve goes down the gullet. Gravity Bow is going to raise your average shot from 8.5 dmg per hit (4.5 from the 1d8 + 3 str +1 magic) to 11 dmg per hit (3.5 * 2 +3 str +1 magic). If you hit on 2/3 of your 3 shots, that's only going to be an extra 5 dmg per turn. If this battle goes another 2 rounds, that's only 10 damage, which you could fire now and do 17 damage if you hit 2/3 of your shots. Since Clandelve's life could depend on that 17 damage being done sooner rather than later, it seems better to hurry and attack, rather than buff. I think those 10/min a level buffs are great to cast before we get in here, but at the moment I need some quicker help! You even have some great buffs going from Lars that will up your damage immediately and make it much more likely you hit! Anyway, that's what's going through Clandelve's mind at the moment. :)
You forgot I first had to move into the room, and thus could only make a single attack afterward. That means I could either:
1) Move and shoot once for 8.5. Then shoot 4* times for 8.5 on my next turn;2) Move and buff myself with Gravity Bow. Then shoot 4* times for 11 on my next turn.
* Archibald's haste gives an extra attack on a full attack action.
In case 1 I'd be able to deal a total of 42.5 damage if all 5 attacks hit, 8.5 now and 34 next turn. In case 2 I'd deal a total of 44 damage if all 4 attacks next turn hit.
I doubt that one extra arrow is much better than the higher damage, even if the allosaurus is close to dropping, 'cause we're now facing a giant as well. That one arrow I'd fire instead of casting Gravity Bow would likely have to be a real lucky shot to take down the allosaurus, and all damage afterward will be quite a bit lower than it could've been.
What do you guys think?
EDIT: Just saw Lars's post. If the allosaurus was close to dropping, it's now dead. I'll leave my actions the way they were and will continue with the buffed bow.

Good point! I hadn't thought about you having to move.
I think with haste and the other buffs we may have a chance here. Maybe I should just delay, you guys go off on the dinosaur and giant if the dinosaur drops, and hopefully I can get closer to the door for some healing...

I made some awful rolls there...
We need to find the thing that's slashing the painting's up. Would a normal Perception check help there, the DC seems pretty steep?

I just saw the map. Hadn't understood that giant and Dino were where they are. So I'll 5' step to make the attacks happen.
Not sure what I can do with a reach weapon when adjacent to a large creature. Can I still target it because it occupies a square 10' from me? Would it provide cover for itself? Maybe I should just use the longsword.

I'm one hit away from going down....I wonder if we should try shutting the doors, healing, and resetting. At any rate, we need to drop that pest before anything else. Maybe the Giants will kill each other if we leave...

            EDIT: Clandelve ninja'd me.
That smiley face is in a bad spot.
We could each make a single attack, then fall back through the door.
If everyone hit, it might bring down the giant with kind dice.
In theory one of us could go and smack the glittery imp thing once, but we'd then have that demon/devil or whatever full attacking the next round.
I agree it might be wise to retreat for now.

We could attempt to bypass this room entirely and withdraw into the next room on our turn. Provided the conjured creatures can't leave the room and our next encounter isn't too dangerous, that'd be my preferred course of action.
(although a magic missile or three for our imp probably wouldn't go amiss. that's my only casting of glitterdust for today.)

I have a crazy plan, but it may just be good.
Remember how the giant attacked the dinosaur? I want to shoot every painting in the room so all the creatures spawn. Let them kill each other.
GM, how are the paintings spread over the room? I can shoot one painting on the northern wall, then get out of the room. We can then shoot the other paintings from the door opening.
It'll get cramped inside the room, but that's none of our concern.

Hmmm...that sounds like it has a possibility of working but could also go horribly wrong if they break down the door, or if it takes too long to break open 12 paintings.
What if, instead, we do this:
1. Everyone who is able try to kill the imp-creature with ranged attacks ASAP!
2. We keep a few strong unwounded guys in the doorway to protect everyone else, while hoping the creatures keep attacking each other.
3. If anyone has a free action, heal Clandelve so he can get back in the fight.

I don't like to discuss things tenfold during combat, as it takes away the fun of the fight. So I went with Clandelve's plan, to get back into the action!

I discovered that the way I used Akeyra wasn't entirely valid :S
In PFS animal companions and mounts only get the following two magic item slots: armor/barding and neck. If you want your animal companion or familiar to have more, it'll have to have the Extra Item Slot feat. Thing is, not all animals can have an armor or neck slot. Like snakes, which start with 0 slots and can only gain the belt and eyes slots with the Extra Item Slot feats.
So Akeyra shouldn't have been able to have such a high AC (would still be 21), nor should she have been able to use the Amulet of Mighty Fists to overcome DR.
Considering that a large sized animal companion was often getting in the way, and that I really want to make use of the Amulet of Mighty Fists to overcome DR, I decided that Shayla will have a leopard companion if she survives Thornkeep. The leopard's final size is medium, it can wear armor, it can carry the Amulet of Mighty Fists, and gets 3 natural attacks of which the bite can trip opponents.

Sounds like a good choice, Shayla! But Akreya's saved many a life with her meaty size. Archibald can grab Beast Shape next level and become a large-sized Dire Tiger which is quite an exciting prospect. I'll have to find an effective medium sized form for him as well, considering.
Enjoy Disneyland! I found this fantastic pirates of the carribean flintlock replicas in the toy shops that have accompanied me to pretty much every costume party since. Definitely keep an eye out for those bad boys.

Hmmm...have to admit I'm a bit stumped where to go from here. The one thing I'm noticing is that there are some colored lines on the map.
Blue, Yellow, and Red in the first room tied to the demon faces.
Blue, Yellow, and Red doors in the room we are now in.
Yellow and Green smoke columns.
Being a bit meta-gamey, there are obviously a few more areas to the south we need to get to. I'm wondering if the first room or the room we are in somehow tie them together...not coming up with much.

Well, I am back. Can't shake the cough I picked up last week though, so I have been lazy about posting the last 3 days.
We had a great time at Disneyland, but no souvenirs for me. Just a few photos and the memories of my older son going from being scared of Star Tours to thinking it was the best ride there. We even watched the original movie as a family tonight.
No ideas on my end for solving this puzzle, though. Following Shayla through portal-smoke seems as likely as anything right now.

Welcome back Lars, glad to hear you had fun at Disneyland
