With one mighty explosion Khabash takes care of the spiders..after the explosion clears all the spider corpses evaporate into thin air.
Velinov throws his dagger at the troglodyte but although he manages to hit the dagger get's deflected by the though scales which compose the creatures hide (doesn't hit AC)
Lilly tries to put another arrow into the troglodyte
To hit AC: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10 but her arrow just flies high past his shoulder.
In return he turns around and hurls some fire at Lilly to hit touch AC Lilly: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 but seeing the flames coming Lilly is able to step out of the way in time.
In the mean while Balenar reaches Samuel and start to sing softly to him easing his pains Cure Light Wounds for Samuel: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Heavily wounded, but alive thanks to Balenars healing, Samuel rises to his feet. As he quickly recalls what has happened he looks to Ezekias and back to Balenar.
"You have my gratitude friend, please can you help Ezekias too?"
Immediately on receiving an answer, Samuel dashes to head up to assist his allies against their troglodyte foe, shouting over his shoulder as he does.
"Do not dally here, there are bats everywhere."
Move action to stand up, free action to talk, move action (20 ft) to head back up. How much movement do I need to get back up to the top?

![]() |

@Khabash; he was..one round..which he spend doing nothing. Same round that the spiders killed the crocodile
@Samuel; well going up stairs is double move, so let's say 60 ft movement from just the stairs..another 50ft to get to the stairs...so that would be 110ft to get to the top of the stairs from where you are now

With the troglodyte caster back in the game, Khabash elects to strengthen his defenses and drinks his prepared extract of shield.
+4 shield bonus to AC for the next minute (and the fight had better be done by then!).

The nausea having disappeared, Zahir stops and turns around to evaluate the situation. He activates his wand to cure his wounds before going back to the center of the room.
CLW (wand): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Going to NPC Velinov in to keep the game going
Velinov points his finger at the troglodyte and a small amount of acid spews forth out of it. To hit touch AC: 1d20 ⇒ 4 but it lands at the troglodyte's feet bubbling a little bit there, before Vilinov makes a tactical retreat
Lilly puts another arrow on her bow and aims at the troglodyte To hit AC: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25 To confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9 hitting the troglodyte in the side of his head damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
In return the troglodyte walks charges at Lilly his flaming palm raises high in the air as he rushes forwardCharge vs Lilly's AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 hitting her in the face with his claw and burning her at the same time Claw damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 and Fire damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
At the same time a few levels lower in the tower Balenar sings a gentle tune to Ezekias, making him feel better Cure light wounds for Ezekias: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Ezekias wakes with a start, surprised to find himself still alive.
With a grin, he grabs Balenar by the arms. Thank you, my friend! I thought...
Hearing that battle still rages several floors up, he stop abruptly. Disregarding his injuries, he rushes up to exact revenge.
Maximum speed up the stairs while arcane-charging his rapier, unless by some chance the trog is visible for a ranged shot.

![]() |

No, the troglodyte is not visible from the ledge your lying on.
Also, since you went unconscious ..you dropped your rapier and where lying on the floor. So you'd have to stand up first..meaning you are not actually moving that far this round. It's roughly 120 ft to get back to the top..so this round you can move 30 ft..you might want to save your arcane charging for a later round (since I think you pay the cost per round?)

![]() |

Swift action, lasts 1 minute. So Ezekias will wait until he's near the trog. Thanks.

![]() |

Lilly may already have been down 3 HP, so the claw attack would be enough to knock her out.
Protected by his armor and shield, Khabash once again mixes together unstable alchemical fluids and flings the concoction onto the troglodyte leader.
Bomb to trog, ranged touch attack, incl. PBS: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 = 17
Bomb damage to trog, incl. PBS: 1d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

I think you have a discovery that allows you not to splash the square lilly is in if you hit right? Just in case Lilly went to negative hps because she already had damage from before..going to assume someone will stabilize her...at some point before she bleeds out.
Khabash throws a bomb at the troglodyte leader and he goes down
He's carrying 4 darts, a masterwork scimitar and a magic cloak as well as a key.
When you take a while to look around the area you notice a rather large chest..it seems unlocked.

![]() |

Yes, I think Lilly drops if she wasn't down already.
After the troglodyte chief falls, Khabash rushes over to the fallen rogue and taps her with his CLW wand. "A thousand pardons! It was necessary that the beast be slain as quickly as possible."
CLW from wand, 45 charges remaining: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Enough to stabilize her, anyway.

![]() |

Does anyone have the !Magick! to heal our friend Lilly? I have a potion which will do the trick, but if the healing can be had for free...
Not suggesting you use the wand again, Khabash. Hoping for a memorized spell.

Ezekias smiles triumphantly.
A hard-fought victory, and a life saved! We've done well, my friends.
Now, it looks like our scaly friend here had some interesting possessions.
Perception, cloak: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Spellcraft, cloak: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Perception, chest: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19 Not opening it yet.
Appraise, darts: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Appraise, scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
And what is this key for, if not the chest over there? Mayhaps a secret door or hidden lockbox?
Perception, area: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1 Looking for what the key might fit.

![]() |

You remember finding a secret door which you had to lock pick to get into? Having a key would also have worked to unlock it
The cloak looks nice, rather well made
It will boost your resistances (cloak of resistance +1)
The chest seems sturdy, but you can't see any trap on it
The darts seem worth about 3 to 8 sp each
The scimitar seems to be worth somewhere between 13 and 17 gold
And looking around the room you see some cracks in the floor..you are fairly certain you could fit the key in there if you wanted to.
Balenar says:"Yes, that's the creature they brought me to when they caught me"

![]() |

some cracks in the floor..you are fairly certain you could fit the key in there if you wanted to
This does not seem like a reasonable thing to do, unless the cracks are odd in some specific way that suggests it. Is this because I rolled a 1? ;-)
I suspect this key is for that secret door in the temple of Nethys downstairs. We should check on our way out, and if not, find out what it does open.
Now, what say we see what's in the chest?

![]() |

Assuming nobody wants to do anything else here?
Balenar invites you back to the lodge he's a member of where he offers you drinks in exchange for stories about what you found in the tower (since he didn't get to see all of it)and as a thank you for rescuing him and after hearing about what you faced he's so impressed with all of you that he invites any of you who are not yet members of the pathfinder society to join and those of you that are already members get recommendations from him to be send back into the field as experienced agents.

![]() |

Unless there's any sign of other stuff in the building, no. Khabash is down to his last bomb, and even though the two flasks of acid would help it's not worth trying to take down the bat swarm just to check the room they were in.

![]() |

Agreed, Kabash. Well done, everyone and thanks for DM'ing, Revvy.
