Sorry about the delay, I somehow hid the thread from my active campaigns (I think I accidently hit the x next to the thread or something) and I simply forgot about this game. I'm really sorry about that!

Hah, that's okay GM - just glad you remembered us! I was about to send you a PM hehe. And truth be told, I've been pretty busy between work and other games so a slight delay actually worked out well for me anyway.

Sorry to hear about your wife's knee troubles Borox! I'm hoping everything will go smoothly with the second replacement.

On another note, sorry for the slow posting over the past few days; I've been working a lot of nights and it doesn't leave me with as much time or energy to post as I would like. Thankfully I'll have a few days off next week and can hopefully pick it up a little with the quantity and quality.

Another aside, this is my first time playing a bard/diplo sort of character so bear with me...and feel free to jump in on the conversation with the barkeep if you want! I don't want to hog all the talking time or come across as being pushy.

Hey folks, wanted to let you all know I'm gonna be out of town starting this evening and running through next Tuesday, Oct 11. I'll be fully back online next Wednesday. I'll have my phone with me at least, so I may still be able to put up short posts, but maybe not. Hello everyone,

My name is GM Hmm and I'm here to check if this PbP still has a heartbeat. I sent a note to GM Baerlie last night asking if I could see if I could help you guys.

This was started for PBP Gameday, which ends November 20th. (Although, technically, we could forgo the gameday boons and end after November 20th, that brings us really close to American Thanksgiving and the Holidays. We'd be very likely to not finish if we extend too much past November 20th.

So here are what I see as our options:

1. If you're all here and up for it, I can serve as your replacement GM. November 20th is only a month away, so we'd all need to commit to posting 2-3 times a day to finish on tiime. Can you commit to posting this much every day? I'd like to hear from all of you. If you're game, I am. I've finished play by posts in 3 weeks before but I can only do this if you all agree to the faster pace.

2. We close this PbP and let it go. From what I can tell, although you had your mission briefing, you never rolled initiative. You could technically step away from this one with no chronicle sheet and still be free to play Consortium Compact another time with these characters.

I'm good either way.

The once a day likely won't work without botting, and I won't have the bandwidth to do a lot of botting this time with another campaign (Kortos Envoy) running. Would any of the players, plural or singular, be willing to bot?

I can also try to help with botting as I can. You more or less know my posting habits Hmm; when I'm off I can usually post multiple times but when I'm working it's hit or miss since I mainly work nights.

Just so we can hopefully know something on this sooner rather than later, I'll shoot a PM to our other two players in case they're not checking this game as often as they were at the start.

I would like to get the game in. I can usually check multiple times per day.

So that's four, with two of you willing to bot. That sounds like a group to me!

My posting habits:

Wednesdays suck. You're lucky if I get a post in from me in the mornings and at lunch time. I'm happy to post on weekends, though I know many GMs and players are not. I can usually post throughout the day on most days, even if the post is just short. I'm in North America, Central time zone.

Right now I'm going for my shodan (first black belt) in Aikido, and I'm running another PbP called Kortos Envoy. My shodan test will be December 2nd. I will tell you if I'm taking the night off for black belt training, or if I'm taking a weekend off (like for my upcoming wedding anniversary.)

I hope you guys will be equally open about when your're here and when you're gone.

I currently do not have the usual things I set up for PbPs -- Slide shows, minis, google doc with initiative and perception blocks, etc. All that will likely come in on Thursday if I get a chance to pull it together.

So... If I recall you were about to start a brawl in a bar... right? For that I believe we'll need a map. How do you guys feel about aiming for a Thursday start? Would that work for you?

PS I'd love to know time zones and usual posting times. Do you mainly post in on the work day, or early morning and late at night? What time zone are you in? Also, I'd like botting permission from each of you, and maybe each of you can tell me something important about your character and their personality. Help me get a feel for all of you!

eastern time zone. I check early morning, sometimes at lunch and then again during evening a couple times, weekdays and weekends. Bot me if necessary and thursday start is good.

I'm also in North America, Central Time. Since I mostly work night shift I keep odd hours but tend to primarily post most from mid-afternoon on through the wee hours of the morning.

On the days I'm off I can pretty much check the forums and post at will (if I'm home) and either check in with my phone for short posts or let you know if I happen to be out and about somewhere.

On the days/nights that I work, I'll try to get in posts before going to bed in the morning and before heading into work in the evening. Otherwise I may need to be botted as my availability to post during my shift is largely variant on how busy it is.

A Thursday start will be fine with me but I'll warn that I'm working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night this week so you might have to bot me (and feel free to do so as needed) some on those days.

As far as Aki's personality goes, that's tricky since this is her first outing and I'm still getting a feel for the character. I suppose that although she generally prefers to take a more chatty and dignified approach to solving problems, she's also aware that sometimes you just have to make the best of the hand you're dealt and so is willing to adjust on the fly when plans change.

(The upcoming bar brawl is a good example of this!)

Yup, I'm also in the US, Mountain Time, though. I typically post from work during the week, and tend to have plenty of time to make at least a couple posts per day. Weekends tend to be tough, but I try to at least make a small post if I can. I don't have any major absences expected at this point, though there is a slight possibility I'll be away for a couple days closer to American Thanksgiving. I'll let you know in advance if something comes up, though.

You can absolutely bot me if I'm not keeping up on things quickly enough. I'm kinda in the same boat as Aki as far as personality goes. This is Azhagoth's first mission with the Society, so he's still feeling out this whole "Explore, Report, Cooperate" thing. He's deeply suspicious of arcane magic and is otherwise pretty much always itching for a fight (surprise surprise, he's a Gorumite).

You read the thread correctly. We are getting ready to start a brawl in an attempt to break up the meeting between the agents. I'm good with starting up tomorrow.

I was happy to hear from her as well. She's one of the GMs I studied to learn PbP from. Truly excellent for humor and writing style. Some day, when she's less swamped, I hope to play in one of her campaigns.

So here's an update. I'm going to post later today and get you all started! I'm composing a scene setting post with all that you learned in Phase One. There's a bunch of bodies in the bar now, and I intend to give you some context on who they all are. This will take a bit for me to compose, and I'm doing it between projects at work.

When I have that done, we'll go ahead and move to Phase Two.

It is a tiny world! I have GMed for one of the players here before (Dain) and play with another (Aki) in Mummy's Mask. I normally only do 1 PbP at a time, but I've GMed Consortium Compact so often that I decided I could manage both!

(Let's hope this isn't hubris on my part.)

Does anyone have any idea what gear Borox is wearing? He worships Torag, but I know that dwarves can wield their racial weapons and spears and maces are also popular cleric choices.

I guess we'll have to let him fill in when he comes back, but I'm trying to figure out what a decent botting option would be.
