"By Iomedae's sword, what is that thing?", cries out the priest. Watching the swinging tail, he sees how much danger it could be. He also knows that he will not be able to reach the creature and attack; not before it gets another chance to bash his companions. He decides to try to attract the creatures ire, perhaps freeing up his companions to move or use magic next to it.
Relishing his role as a 'guardian', he mutters a prayer to protect himself, then asks for his Lord's blessing to carry him forth into battle. That done, Kent then dashes in to the fray, his mouth a tight line beneath his helm, before opening in a scream as he gets close; "For Arqueros!".
The warrior priest hopes to distract the creature into attacking him, rather than his comrades, and braces for it's strike.

Detect Magic on Serpentfolk
GM Baerlie
|
Q'Lystra is able to learn everything possible and impossible about the creatures. What she does not spot, Peribras points out.
Ankylosaurus, Serpentfolk
Kentel searches the humanoid creature. The serpentfolk does not carry any magic items with him, but his tribe is able to create masterwork weapons. [ooc]he carries a mwk dagger And they are able to use magic. Their bites are poisonous.
Pushing a bit, since what comes next does not harm you, at least not immediatly.
You move on to the next chamber. Clouds of steam rise from this balmy chamber’s countless pools. Small, rocky islands abound, separated by cloudy, mineralladen waters. Each island supports a stone plinth carved with minute glyphs and elaborate pictograms. Sliding across the floors and floating in the pools, thousands of snakes of various species and sizes slither throughout the chamber and bask in its tropical heat.
The plinths are scattered throughout the large cave, whose floor is covered almost entirely by shallow, opaque pools swimming with venomous snakes. Each plinth stands upon a small island separated from its neighbors by water.
There are five plinths in total which can be deciphered.

Kennel picks up the well made dagger and shoves into his belt. A spare is always useful as a door wedge, improvised tool, as well as a weapon.
Moving with the group into the next chamber, he perspires even beneath the enchanted armour. Studying the room, he turns to his companions,
"It would probably be of benefit to find out what those glyphs say. But I'm not sure how easy that would be. If someone thinks of a way they can get to the islands, whilst avoiding the snakes, I can ask Arqueros to guide you on the way."
