[PFS/PbP Gameday 3] The Hellknight's Feast (Inactive)

Alafair starts after the serving girl, but is knocked aside by the panicked crowd and she struggles to squirm in between guests, hemmed in by the upset crowd.

At Ruprechts words Elena changes direction from going towards the poison victim towards the escaping girl

Reflex save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Elena manages to react in time, and pushes her way through the chaos of guards, guests and servants to follow the girl. Through an open doorway, she manages to catch a glimpse of the girl as she abruptly vanishes into thin air.

Not much later a different serving girl comes up to the adventurers and says [b]Tespren, the captain of the household guard, requires your assistance in the upstairs drawing room. (Area 16)

Ruprecht heeds the servant's call, realizing the and the rest of the Pathfinders hadn't done much to help during the dinner. "Any news on the saboteur? Did she leave any calling cards behind?"

Asmodan follows in suit, heeled by his tiger.

"'Told you we needed to watch that perimeter! We'll be in big trouble if it was blamed on us..."

Going to assume everybody came along with Ruprecht and Asmodan...

Tespren is alone in the drawing room, obviously in some kind of mental struggle. Eventually he shouts They're here, it's a trap! Watch out!

As if on command, two demonic women appear in the Gallery, but fail to take the party by surprise. The gnome seems to be under some kind of mind control...

Ruprecht throws his flask of acid at the closest demon.

Asmodan will proceed to cast cleromancy on Heroine via share spells:

This gives her a +3 bonus on 2 d20 rolls in the next 7 rounds.

And then orders her to attack, using dire collar to enlarge her to huge size on a command word.

"Heroine! Use your smite evil on the right one!"

Heroine charges in after roaring loudly, using her pounce ability plus grab and rake on the right demon (from her perspective) to create a flurrying mass of huge paws, raking flesh.

If it dies before she finished her full attack she'll continue on the other one (without smite evil = -6 damage).

FYI if you grab on the first attack you immediately gain the grappled condition and forfeit any remaining attacks this round.

Ruprecht throws a flask of acid at the demon, but it's off-target. Acid splashes over the other demon, who giggles as it washes harmlessly over her. Elena blesses the group, while Asmodan super-charges his tiger. Heroine pounces on one of the fiends, and with a single bite, grapples with the evil outsider.

Why don't you tell your cat to let go of my friend? The other demon suggests (DC 16 Will save for Asmodan?). Tespren casts a spell, while the grappled fiend rips her claw into Heroine, taking some of his life-force for her own.

As his acid did no good, Ru moved forward and pulled his spear, trying to drive it into the chest of the closest demon.

Attack 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15

Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I'm assuming the first demon died and that heroine won't get hit with a claw crit :P

I forgot two rake attack rolls:

Asmodan seems befuddled at first, then obeys the suggestion:

"Heroine! Stop right now! Look what you did to this poor lady's friend! Down!"

Heroine looks at Asmodan before simply standing there, glaring menacingly at the other demon, but not taking any actions.

Spellcraft check for the spell Tespren is casting:

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

He then 5-foot steps back, before proceeding to cast another cleromancy on himself:

cleromancy: 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (1) + (1) + (2) + (1) + (1) + (4) + (1) = 11

Granting him a +1 luck bonus on up to 5 d20 rolls within the next 7 rounds.

Shadow directs his boar to take him around the east side of the room to end up behind the enemy. He draws his cold iron lance along the way.

Double move to get to new location. The boar has a speed of 40 feet.

Slight retcon, as discussed

Heroine bites, claws and rips at the demon, who shrieks at the terrible, terrible wounds inflicted, and finally >poof< vanishes.

Ruprecht moves past the big cat to attack the fiend, but his stab is easily evaded by the nimble abyssal.

Asmodan studies the spell being cast by Tespren, but doesn't recognise it. He hears the suggestion by the other demon, but it doesn't take hold on him.

Shadow Lion moves around the final fiend, and rides up behind them.

"Wait!? What am I saying!? Heroine! Ignore that last order! Crush that little mouse! Don't try to grab it!"

Asmodan says, as he stops in his tracks to turn around and point a finger at the demon.

Confused, Heroine obeys his master's orders. It takes some getting going, and the huge maw of the feline misses its mark. The claws, however, do massive damage to the fiend, ripping into the batlike wings and ripping open the flesh.

....That's one big cat.. But it seems it can take care of it self....

Elena (double) moves around to the other side of the room, cutting of the demons escape route (if needed) while getting closer to the action.

Thekk fires three bolts at the fiend. (I'm guessing the giant kitty provides some cover…)

Alafair studies the demonic creatures trying to determine what they may be, and how they came to be here, now.

She then almost dismissively fires a series of electrical based Magic Missiles at the remaining creature.

The storm of crossbow bolts and magic missile also bring down the second demon, who collapses, and vanishes back into the Abyss.

Tespren's face contorts again, as if fighting another compulsion. Okay mistress. he finally says, as he throws a tanglefoot bag through the door.

Asmodan tries to ask his tiger to aid him in his attack:

After which he casts protection from evil, and tries to deliver it to the gnome.

(he gets a DC17 will save tot resist the harmless spell)

(If it connects, he gets an immediate saving throw against the mind-affecting affect, after which it is supressed)

"These are alu-demons!" shouts Alafair. "They are often sent to our plane to seduce humans. They may have some mind control over the guard captain. Beware! Try not to slay him."

Alafair moves to try to get a good shot in the door way in case the gnome stays aggressive after Asomodan's touch.

Ready an action to fire elemental ray at the fellow if he makes an attack. Die roll below, but only if needed.

Elena watches to see the result of Asmodan's action.

Tespren seems to refrain from any further hostile actions once Asmodan has cast his spell. He didn't even resist the touch. I... I am so sorry. I felt this strange... urge... to throw the tanglefoot bag... I don't understand.

There was this serving maid, who told me she heard a noise upstairs... so I investigated.

Tespren seems very confused, but far from hostile.

Asmodan takes a step back, then turns his tiger back to her original size before throwing her an alu-demon body part to chew on.

"Don't worry my gnome friend, the pathfinder society is here for your protection. Can you tell us anything more about this servant you speak of?"

The vicious glare in his eyes reveals anger as he gives a meaningful glance at Alafair and Elena.

I've got a hunch that this... servant is not what she seems to be. And by the gods, when I find her, I shall make her feel the wrath of the Gods, old and new.

Just one of the maids. She placed her hand on my shoulder and asked me to investigate upstairs. Said I was so tough and strong. Her name is AaarGH!

Tespren scream in pain, his voice getting fainter as he does so. In the end he mutters out with a weak voice O... Orielle. Her name is Orielle.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Thekk's feet become firmly glued to the floor. "Yet another item in my list of social embarrassments…"

"Someone get the dwarf free. We have to find this Orielle and fast."

Get... back... Tespren croaks with a weak voice. Guests... peril...

"More attacks on the guests? We need to go now," the elf exclaims as he moves back to the dining area, as he figures that wills till be the largest gathering of people.

Shadow rides over and slices the dwarf free with his katana. Then heads back downstairs.

The downstairs area is still the same chaos it was when the party sped upstairs. Colson Maldris and Lady Morilla are busy tending to the guests as an atmosphere of panic is still present, but Damien Blakros is ready to fill the gap. What have you found? What is going on here? Report to me, report!

In the background, Lady Dyrianna can be heard saying Faelyn, I haven't seen him. Where is Faelyn? The bodyguard of Lady Dyrianna seems missing.

Demons! And the gnome, Tespern, had been mind controlled. We are on the defensive here, and this party is under attack. Do you know a Orielle? That was a name the gnome mentioned..."

"...And we suspect she might be under mind control as well... or worse. We don't know what we're dealing with here, but powerful enchantments are at work here. We need to be extremely careful who we trust at this point."

Noticing the truth in his own words, Asmodan takes another look at Damien Blakros:

Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Demons, here. Imagine the disgrace. We must salvage what we can and find this impostor, so that this feast is not a complete disaster. Damien says, as he calls for Major Maldris. I agree Maldris says[ the faction momentum will be completely lost if we prove to be this vulnerable.

Maldris unbuckles his eagle knight sword here, use my sword, it will be powerful against demons, he says as he hands is to Thekk. Maldris also produces a weapon black this is cold iron blanch. Treat the sword, or your arrows with it and send these demons back to the Abyss.

The sword is a +2 alchemical silver defending bastard sword. The blanch is cold iron blanch. Maldris gave the sword to Thekk, but anyone can use it.

"But won't you need your sword, just in case you end up facing a demon yourself?"

Elena glances at Major Maldris

Elena will then follow the others to go search for demons

Not if you manage to deal with the threat first. Hurry! Maldris replies. He doesn't seem to be too concerned, having the backup of Damian Blakros around.

Anyone want to take the cold iron blanch? I'm sure someone has more use for it than Ruprecht...

Alafair passes on the blanch. She will, however, cast Mage Armor on herself from her wand, and offer to anyone else who might benefit. She also removes her scroll of Communal Protection from Evil, which she will cast from when the demons are spotted.

Where shall we begin looking? Can anyone here detect the presence of evil aura's easily?"

"The kennels! Quickly! PERIMETER, by the moontime of half kyonin! What kind of security are we!?"

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Pow! Hit the big one with long odds! Time to head to Vegas!

Alafair cocks her head to on side, unsure of the sound. "It sounds like dogs barking. I remember there are kennels on the premises. Let's go check it out!"

She rushes out looking back to make sure the rest of the group is in tow.

Arriving at the kennels, the dogs are quiet again, playfully chewing on two separate pieces of bone. When Alafair arrives, the animals start barking again.

Alafair rushes to the kennels, ready for battle, but finds only dogs playing. Frustrated, she looks around be spies nothing unusual.

She casts Detect Magic on the area around the kennels, on the off chance on of the dogs is an imp in disguise...

Elena rushes off behind Alafair

" ...I hope this isn't a distraction..."

"Seems we found the missing jawbones..."
