Vitarri seeing two people down stops him from charging the beast before him. He growls as he pull's back, completely ignoring Dagnobar as he was more concerned with those bleeding on the ground. Besides he wasn't the jumping type. He pulls forth his chain, revealing his symbol of Gorum before channeling his lords might to aid his fellows.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Despite the warmth from the healing energy that the channeled energy gives it is followed by a stab of pain before it dissipates. "Come Here! You will taste my steel yet you ugly filth!" He shouts as he smiles at the tentacled horror at the end of the sewer channel as he drops his holy symbol and spins Oathkeeper in a well practiced manner.
MA: 5ft step back.

Guys, sorry for a total mess up. I thought Togg would fight to the death, but she should've retreated when she had 10 HP left. This means everything after this post didn't happen.
Dagnobar tactically retreats into the alley to give the archers a clear shot at Togg. Rabbai also retreats, sad it had to come to a fight.
Seeing some of his companions retreat, Misarru figures he should take the initiative and attack. He leaps forward and inflicts a nasty wound on Togg.
Vitarri moves forward, eager to finally have something to do. He's still out of Togg's reach though.
Biting back a curse, Aeilín strikes at Togg with all her might. Her greatsword sinks deep into Togg's round body. Togg yelps and flees into the western sewer tunnel.
Combat ends.

Huzzah!
Vitarri_Tyrim
|
So no one was injured then right? Lol!
Vitarri harrumphs in annoyance as the tentacled nuisance runs off like a coward. "That was all? How disappointing."
| StephNyan |
Vitarri's channel would've brought Misarru back to consciousness, and I had already rolled Togg's new attacks on Misarru. Misarru would've died, permanently. Also the channel would've healed Togg, who's also a living creature. I truly am glad all of this didn't happen >.<
@Rabbai: Combat's over, and outside of combat everything's initiative-free :)
Aeilín Ardghail
|
Wiping Togg's blood from her blade, Aeilín shoots an irritated look at Xander.
"That wasn't the best of strategic decisions. Next time you want to try to get us all killed, maybe you can be up front, eh?"
Aeilín Ardghail
|
"Says the guy at the back of the pack. I won't warn you again."
| StephNyan |
After discussing strategic decisions for some time the party decides to move on. Inspecting both sewer tunnels leads the party to think they should go east. The fact Togg went west also has its influence on the decision.
Large Rat Statue
The tunnel terminates in a small shrine centered around a large statue of a rat, around which handfuls of baubles and trinkets lie as if left as offerings. Nearly every brick bears some type of scratch marks, many having the appearance of writing without actually forming coherent letters. About one foot above the walkway, a large pipe emerges from the southern wall.
New Map I placed you in a somewhat random order. Feel free to adjust your position.
Misarru
|
Misarru walks slowly up to the big statue, looking all the way at the ground to check for any signs or traps.
Take 10 for 16, 17 vs traps
He then inspects the statue and the writings a bit more closely as the others look on.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 +1 vs traps
Dagnobar
|
Dagnobar will look along the walls and the rat sculpture, especially for hidden doorways.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Perhaps add +2 for unusual stonework?
| StephNyan |
Nothing new is revealed by Misarru and Dagnobar their inspections.
A rumbling noise comes from the large pipe in the south wall. Some time later voices can be heard as well, though very soft.
A male voice replies: "Then move. It might come back."
Aeilín Ardghail
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Hefting her blade, Aeilín quietly steps closer to the pipe. She holds up a halting gesture to any overzealous archers in her group, and waits.
Vitarri_Tyrim
|
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Vitarri arcs an eyebrow at the earlier discussion, shrugging his shoulders before he settled the flatside of his greatblade across his shoulder.
When they finally got moving he could hear small voices up ahead. He steps up behind Aeilin and whispers. "Should we knock?" Moving his greatblade to emphasize.
Xander Telesphorus
|
Xander moves forward to examine the writing and the statue.
Linguistics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Hearing the voices Xander reloads his cross bow and waits.
Aeilín Ardghail

I forgot my map link. Adjusted Vitarri, too, if that's okay.
| StephNyan |
A woman crawls out of the pipe and looks warily at the pathfinders in the tunnel. "Pellius, there are othe..."
Before the woman can finish her sentence a man, probably Pellius, crawls out of the pipe and knocks her aside. "Oh, sorry! I didn't see..."
The man stops mid-sentence and eyes the pathfinders with anxiety. "Stay behind me, Marixite..."
Dagnobar
|
Moving directly across from them, Dagnobar puts his fist into his open hand and then bows to Pellius and Marixite. After seeing my wonderful diplomacy roll, I have edited my speech for better roleplay purposes.
"Hail great sewer crawlers! I am Dagnobar. You are Pellius and Marixite." Dagnobar suddenly sneezes right into their face. "Ahh, excuse me, spicy alley cat sandwich always does that to me. Anyway, you are also greatly outnumbered and outmatched, but I want to emphasize you are not in immediate danger. Except for, the walking garbage disposal that likes to eat people, and the fact that there are people with really big swords next to you, and as one of my comrades says, overzealous archers. I'd say you're in great shape. Perhaps you should just stay all still like and talk." Dagnobar coughs for a second, hacks up something, and spits a bit of fur into the sewer. "Excuse me, spicy alley cat must have still had some fur on it."
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Misarru
|
Misarru looks up from his investigation of the statue and watches the pair that emerged from the sewer pipe.
"I'm guessing you met that large tentacled thing the same way we have? Can't say I fault you for hiding from it, but you could have opted for a cleaner hideout."
The red tiefling grins and flciks his dagger in his hand as he talks.
Aeilín Ardghail
|
Dagnobar - awesome.
Aeilín stands silently, watching the newcomers for signs of trouble from them, or close behind.
Vitarri_Tyrim
|
Vitarri stands behind Aeilin, towering over most of the group and looking perpetually bored as the conversation continues.
I actually love the rping. :)
| StephNyan |
"We don't want trouble, we don't!" Marixite exclaims, and tries to hide from Dagnobar by keeping Pellius in front of her.
"What are you..." Pellius shakes Marixite off of his shoulders and holds his hands up in the air, "We're just traveling through these sewers, that's all! Okay, that sounds weird... We have to traverse these sewers for a job, that's all. Then this big tentacle thing came and we hid inside this pipe. Except that's where we came from, and we need to go west."
Marixite nods in agreement. "Could you please let us pass, please?!"
The couple seems very much on edge, and eager to get away from the party.
Aeilín Ardghail
|
Easing her posture, Aeilín attempts to soothe the panicked urban spelunkers.
"We're not here to hamper you, friend. If you are determined to traverse these sewers, alone and ill-equipped, I'm of no mind to stop you from your quest. We are, it seems, the least of your worries."
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Misarru
|
"We too are in this sewer for a reason. Perhaps you'd like to explain yourself to us before you go? You know wounded monsters and all tend to lash out and kill you if you're unprepared, perhaps with our help you could reach your destination hmm?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18
Misarru seems to have shifted his knife-flicking skills with a simple cleaning of his fingernails instead, though he uses the knife for it.
Aeilín Ardghail
|
"And what is this 'it' you speak of?"
Xander Telesphorus
|
Has Xander heard of local traffickers/smuggling organizations using these sewers? It seems like a dangerous route for them to take.
Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Misarru
|
Misarru looks suspiciously at the pair, his past experiences have given him a perhaps unhealthy suspicion at times to notice any falsehoods being told.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Dagnobar
|
Dagnobar listens to their story carefully, despite his stomach rolling from the spicy alley cat sandwich.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
| StephNyan |
"This 'it' I talk of continued to refer to itself as 'Togg', and we could barely escape it," answer Marixite.
Pellius turns to Muchiko. "Already told you, didn't I?!" he snaps, "Just moving from east to west, delivering goods. As for why we do it through the sewers instead of above the ground, go figure."
Aeilín Ardghail
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
"Togg. Of course." Unsure whether the name was gleaned from Muchiko's clue, Aeilín shrugs slightly, suspicious, but seeing no reason to dally with these two. "We are not here for them, and they don't want help. I see no cause to waste more time on them."
Where do the directions lead, now?
Misarru
|
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Misarru leans against the wall and shrugs as they tell their story.
"I can understand them, most smugglers don't want to be seen. Though I'd rather be safe than take these kinds of risks. Hope you know a lot about these sewers, that could save your life."
He then sheaths his dagger and looks at them.
"Could you perhaps tell us something about what you know about these sewers. We're newcomers if you hadn't guessed and some details may save our lives."
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Rabbai Alaknar
|
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Rabbai's swift eye is caught by some movement. He hushes everyone and throws one arm out in the direction of the rat statue.
"What was that? Something small and dark just darted behind the statue. Misarru, can you check it out?"
Swim: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
He hops into the channel in an attempt to get an angle on the statue, but slips on something on the bottom of the tunnel under the water.
Misarru
|
"Saw something? Slipped behind the statue? Okay I'll go take a look, at least it can't be a second Togg."
Misarru peeks behind the statue and tries to see what kind of creature is behind it.
| StephNyan |
The eyes of the rat's statue suddenly glow a soft red. "Ich werde Sie, stinkende Schweine!"
Behind the statue sits a small bat-eared creature with a mouth full of needle-like teeth and glowing, orange eyes. It's quite obvious the creature's doing the screaming, though Marixite and Pellius don't seem to realize this.
"You did this!" Pellius shouts. He points at Misarru, who's standing closest to the statue. "You woke up the statue, we're doomed now!"
Can't update the map where I am now. I will post it tomorrow.
Misarru
|
Misarru grins and almost laughs out loud were it not for the sharp teeth the thing he sees has.
"It's just a small critter that does the talking. Must be some sort of lever or something for that red glow. I would be more scared of Togg than this thing, our smuggling friends have daring though scared and fooled so easily."
Misarru waits for a moment to see how the creature reacts before making any attempt to grab it.
Dagnobar
|
Dagnobar contemplates why the creature is talking behind the statue. Probably works to scare folks, obviously. Might be an intelligent creature.
Sense Motive of bat-eared creature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
