@Valador: I like the aasimar paladin most, as it fits in with the scenario. Though if you personally prefer the human paladin, feel free to play that character.
Aasimar it is then.
Zandibus the Magnificent |
Just to say Zandibus is done with his previous scenario and has his Chronicle, etc., so will definitely be ready to go :)

At the start of the Game Day I had an email from the organisers, in which they asked all GMs to tell their players what the expectations are. So here I go:
* The pacing/tempo of the PbP game the GM wishes to set.
I will post new chapters once the party's ready to advance in the storyline. Events don't complete themselves, and I'd like to see the players actively engaged.
* How frequently you will post as the GM.
Depends on the amount of posts the party members make. I'll post at least 1 time a day, but this'll increase when members make multiple posts a day.
* How frequently the players are expected to post. (Including how long they will be given before being put in “Delay”.)
You're expected to make at least 1 post on an average day. Almost everyone goes out of town sometimes, and most of us know what's it like to have a busy or unlucky day. Please do inform me, either in this thread or by PM, if something's up and you won't be able to post for a prolonged time.
* What the player inactivity level (in days) will be before the player is dropped/replaced. (As well as what level of credit a player will get should they quit/get dropped.)
If you suddenly disappear and are gone for over 3 days, without letting me know why, I'll send you a PM to ask you why. Once I've send the PM in which I ask you about your absence, the party will move on. Once the PM's send, you have 3 more days to get back into the game before you're dropped. If something horrible has happened you may rejoin at any moment, but your rewards for completing the game depend on your amount of activity.
Players who are mostly inactive will lose a part of their reward. This could be 1/3 you'll lose, or even 2/3 of your reward. Dropped players will receive no reward.
Unless most of you drop out and we have too few players for a legal table, which I don't expect will happen, there won't be replacements.
* What process combat will follow. Including how initiative will work, posting expectation, how the GM prefers die rolls to work in combat, et cetera.
I'll roll initiative once combat starts. Combat may be triggered by events or NPCs, but players may trigger combat as well. If a player triggers combat, for example by stabbing an NPC, all other players are to await the NPC's reaction and the initiative rolls that follow.
Combat will be done in groups. Within a group everyone can take their turn in any order. Unless a player is waiting for the action of an ally, the actions will resolve in the order they're posted.
* Where maps are hosted, and the expectations the GM has for their use.
I'll use Ditzie. When your character moves, please adjust your character's position on the map and link the new map in your post.
* Any other expectations and processes the GM wishes the players to follow.
Keep in mind we're all playing this game for fun :)
Zandibus the Magnificent |
Please note Zandibus has yet to be updated in his alias, I have already done it in herolab so I'll give it a quick once over and then copy it in shortly. Its not a level up so I do not believe there are any significant changes.
Zandibus the Magnificent |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
With this character if I say something weird I probably do mean it :)

Sorry for the delay, the weekend was brutal on my game playing. As a general rule, I'll be able to post frequently during the week, but weekends are usually slow for me as I have a lot of stuff planned for helping with PFS in my area and family obligations. Feel free to GMNPC me, general plan will be to sing then start shooting.
Stat blocks/character sheet will be updated when I get home tonight and have access to my PCgen.
Will Thatcher |
I cannot access the map while at work, so I'm going to just trust anyone who wants to move me based on my actions. He'll just be drumming for the most part and cheering everyone on from the sidelines.
StephNyan |
A few notes on the map:
If you move yourself on the map, please do so on the last map provided. This is often the map another player has posted, but when I write "The map's updated" it means the map below my name changed. Please use the map below my name when I write it's updated.
If it's not possible for you to move yourself on the map, describe your new position. For example, write "S, S, E" in ooc to show you move south twice and east once. It's incredibly appreciated if fellow party members are then willing to move you on the map.
Zandibus the Magnificent |
So I am just supposed to drag and hit enter when I have my icon in position? When I try that there is a circle with a diagonal line indicating no go and though I can move a transparent Zandibus with this circle I cannot make it stick.
Valador Iscariot |
Drag your icon, press the Enter key, and the url/website should change. Use that link to place the new map in your post.
If that doesn't work, describe your movement like Alia did: SW, SW, W, E.
If its not a hassle you could always just add grid coordinates to the map. Go along the top and place a letter or number above each column of squares. Then do the same going down for each row. May be easier than having people explaining which steps they take. Just an idea.

I implemented it for those who can't edit the map. Thanks for the idea!
While at it I changed the map so you're truly exploring the temple, with the areas where you haven't yet been blacked out. I should've done this from the start, but hopefully most of you don't have the entire map memorized.

I was actually gonna suggest the black areas, but it seems you took care of it. :-)
No worries, most people probably already have the PDF for this adventures anyways, as long as no one meta games we should be fine. :-)
On that note, I have tons of PDFs if you need. :-)
Zandibus the Magnificent |
Now I cannot even see the map its telling me I have to login to do so. Can I suggest using google docs instead? Most of the games on here make use of it and I've never had any issue with it. I'm struggling to see the advantages of ditzie.
Zandibus the Magnificent |
Yes looks like that's the problem, I use chrome on my PC, but firefox on my laptop works fine. Is there an advantage to ditzie though? It seems problematic and the posting map links thing seems less user friendly than the google docs method. I'm about to start a Dragons Demand game and it might be tempting if it provides a larger map space, do you know how large map files can be? Its 2000 by 2000 for Google drawings.
StephNyan |
@Zandibus: I haven't tested a limit. So far it's uploaded everything I wanted, and I've been able to drag maps to whatever size I wished for. (Quite a bit larger than what we're using now.)
Okay, just as a test I tried dragging it out some more. I could drag it out a lot, but this is where I decided to stop.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I've never used Google Docs for maps. The smaller map size doesn't seem to be a problem for this scenario so I'll try it out.
To test its usage I've created a Google Docs map for this scenario, you'll find it below my name. Please use it from now on.
Valador Iscariot |
I liked the first map better... Google docs looks all jacked up right now when I look at it. The characters arent even properly placed...
Zandibus the Magnificent |
I do think ditzie looks good but not working on common browsers is a pretty big issue. It seems to say its in beta so hopefully that will get resolved. Personally I find having to post the link each time irksome to.
Zandibus the Magnificent |
Welcome to PBP, mind you I was also in the first gameday game to finish took us 12 days to finish The Disappeared. You will often find that weekends are abit slower than the rest of the week to.
Will Thatcher |
Hey guys,
I'm going to have to withdraw from the game. You still have enough to make a table, and my health has taken a recent turn for the worse, so I'm having to limit the number of games I play in. Sorry.
