Please post the following information (I know most of you already have it in the character sheets, but it's easier for me to have it at one place, less mistakes happen):
- Player name
- Character name
- PFS #
- Faction
- Email (you can send it to me through PN if you don't want to post it)
- XP/Fame/DJ roll (if applicable, I know that that might change until September)

Since most of you are checked in, I do have a question regarding the map tool:
Do you prefer roll20 or google drawings? Unfortunately I can't open google drawings at work so I can do the updates only once a day. I'd prefer roll20, but it makes only sense if everybody has an account.
Quentin Wintrish |
I prefer Google Slides. I cannot open either Google Drawings or Roll20 on the go, but I do have a Roll20 account.
The Thundering Spirit |
My preference is google, but I do have a Roll20 account
The Thundering Spirit |
My addenda from earlier:
Day Job (Diplomacy): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
XP 6
Prestige/Fame 5/12

Ugh, I've been there. Glad you're doing better!
Quentin Wintrish |
My sympathies.
Igna' |
Hello!
I will be flying out on Thursday, Oct' 5 (tomorrow) and then back on Monday, Oct' 9, and will be out in the Romanian countryside in between those dates.
I've arranged to have Internet access, so I should be able to post a couple times a day.
But I am giving this warning, so, in case I go dark, it'll be because something went wrong, so just bot me for those days if it happens.
Igna' |
Hello all!
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Austria. Will be working a few days outside Vienna, and then moving to Vienna for a couple nights (was hoping to meet the local VC, but no answer to msgs yet... hint hint!).
Should have Internet all the time, and be able to post twice a day, but, since I'm travelling for a week you never know what might wrong: in case I disappear that'd be the explanation.
Quentin Wintrish |
Well, that's disappointing.
The Thundering Spirit |
PM'd her. I'll post in Flaxseed for a replacement tomorrow if we haven't heard anything.
GM Baerlie |
Two important things happened while you were locked in the inn. During this time Bertinard got killed in his house and you missed the encounter with Feather seed who would have told you more about the Haunted Mire (the same you learned from Bertinard's notes), but she would have stopped the fiery attack to Rosehaven that killed Armeline.
Earning Armeline's trust would have rewarded you the second PP. There were three ways to get out of the inn: using diplomacy to convince the constable to let you go, sneaking out during the night or defeating the guards (which would have automatically reduced your PP to 1).
I hope this helps.
Quentin Wintrish |
Actually, we didn't need to get out of the house arrest. We only get the Fiery Attack if we attacked the guards to escape or if we failed to find the Leshy... which was a DC 8 Survival check from Bertinand's house, which we weren't given a chance to find. There's no way to find the haunted mire without the Leshy, which is why the Fiery Attack happens.
And we were never given a chance to meet Armeline. We went from looking around town and attempting to talk to the townsfolk straight to Mercylight.
Igna' |
As Quentin said.
I was going to spend some time re-reading the scenario and writing up the issues (because it was super odd when we suddenly jumped to ruins).
Personally, I do not care about the PP/Fame, but that is my choice, and it can be important to some.
I do care that this adventure was pretty mangled and strangely run since it kind of spoils it for those who did it the first time.
I imagine you have your health (or personal) issues and such, but it would have been better to switch GMs or something.
Igna' |
No chronicle sheets yet, and some questions about how events were presented (and thus results in the PPs etc.).

Hey Gang, I am reviewing this one. Please be patient, as it has multiple interlocking parts as to how the story can flow.

I can summarize how this went (and where it went off the rails):
Getting Started: Normal
Welcome to Rosehaven/Exploring Rosehaven: Skipped by GM
Mercylight: Normal
The First Victim: Agreed to assist the sheriff
Elm's Death/Elm's Body: Normal
Elm's House: Failed to decipher the path to the next victim
Return to Rosehaven: Normal
House Arrest: Not done by PCs/Development implemented by GM, moving us to Fiery Vengeance.
Fiery Vengeance: Implemented by GM/Not earned by PCs (did not do House Arrest and not yet made it to Pumpkin Patch/Feather Seed)
Attack on Bertinand's Home: Not done by PCs (see failure at Elm's House)
The Second Murder: Partially implemented by GM after Fiery Vengeance and combined with an altered version of Bertinand's Memories.
Pumpkin Patch: Skipped by GM
Feather Seed: Skipped by GM (no opportunity to encounter due to skipping Pumpkin Patch)
Haunted Mire: Re-inserted by GM
Conclusion: Not done by GM

It’s a sound analysis, Blake’s Tiger. I had noticed that there were whole sections that were skipped. This is not as straightforward an adventure as some might think. I needed a flowchart when I ran it!
You’ll be receiving my decision a bit later today.

Alright, it’s later.
Here’s my decision. You guys fell off the plot train, in part because this scenario really needs an internal flow chart. It’s easy for a GM to get confused if they don’t have a chart to consult to help them keep track of all the possibilities. As a result, some key scenes got skipped that would have given you guys the tools to succeed.
I am retroactively awarding you guys the missing prestige point, but I would like to do more than that. I’d like to call a partial rewind. We’ll give you a chance to flip back to the “Deleted Scenes” bonus content on this Scenario.
I’ve asked GM Ladile if she can take you into a quick time warp, and return you to the parts that you missed. She’s run this before, and we’ll count the combats that you already did as counting towards your scenario’s encounters. There’s some memorable scenes in here that I would hate for you all to miss. She will also be doing your chronicle sheet.
I hope that this decision meets with all of your approval, and that you have a delightful time warp.
Yours,
Hmm
Venture Captain Online
PS The rewind is optional... If some of you just want to be done, that is fine. But I’m hoping you’ll stick around for the bonus content.

Hello, folks! GM Hmm explained your odd circumstances to me and asked if I'd be willing to offer something of a narrative do-over for the parts of the scenario that the group ended up missing out on. As she said, I'll be doing what amounts to deleted scenes or perhaps an alternate timeline where we'll rewind the action to a certain point and then restart the action from there. This will be purely a roleplay experience and I'll simply hand-wave/narrate past the combat parts that you've already been through. Once we're done I'll issue you your chronicles and report the game.
While I read back through your Gameplay, I'd appreciate it if everyone could check in here and let me know if you're interested in participating in the bonus content or if you'd prefer me to issue you your chronicle now so you can be on your way - if you've got your PC lined up for another upcoming game, for example. If people wish to participate then I promise I'll do my best to provide an enjoyable experience for you :)
Regards,
GM Ladile

Quentin is still available if enough of the others are game. I wouldn't mind a chance to earn the leshy reward and (possibly) the hag reward.

'Fraid I've got another game lined up. Thanks so much for the rewind though!
