Melina calls out again, repeating her thoughts "We may flee and rest if you wish. That is a fast zombie; it has no mind; we merely need to close a thick door behind us and it is stymied!"

Khamul laughs off the sphinx's attack and brings his scythe down on the zombie!
mwk scythe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
damage: 2d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 + 1 = 9

Apparently I lacked the foresight to buy anything but splash weapons and a dagger. Awkward.
Melina drinks an extract of shield and moves up to help draw the sphinxes attention. She draws a dagger as she moves.
Move me into a flank with Khamul I suppose.

Haha, I couldn't figure out if it was a typo or some phrase I'd never heard.
Khamul takes a deep breath and leans on his scythe. He takes out his wand and gives himself a couple taps, allowing his wounds to heal over a couple minutes. "That was tense. But good job everyone. This site will no doubt prove valuable to the Society."

"It is a shame we could not keep the emissaries from the past. But it was good we talked to them while they still dwelled on this plane." She smiles. "I wonder if my great-grandfather will meet them on the other side."

"Perhaps," responds Khamul, "they could have been useful or knowledgeable. But I am ever at odds with myself when in control of such beasts. It is better that they are gone forever, I think."

With the pharaoh gone, the tomb's treasures are yours for the taking. In this room alone, there is his wooden sarcophagus, crafted of rare woods and embellished with gold leaf and precious inlays, and is worth a total of 1,000 gold. The other grave goods in the burial chamber, consisting of clothing, furniture, jewelry, weapons, and other items for the pharaoh’s use in the afterlife, are worth an additional 2,000 gold in total. Among them are two items of note: an engraved green gem and a tiny silver figurine of a sphinx. Transcriptions of the hieroglyphs on the walls are also of importance to the Society. When you arrive back in Absalom, Drendle Dreng is eager to hear your report.
