In an uncharacteristic act of aggression, Samuel charges across the deck, engaging the gnoll directly south of him and swings with his sword.

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Kujo, I believe in medium armor you cannot use Acrobatics that way. It seems like Agile Breastplate should maybe allow for that, but it's just a better ACP instead. So unless there's another thing I'm overlooking I'll take the AoO.

As the gnoll sees the crazy murder man rushing at him, he drops his bow in favor of his spear and stabs at Kujo!

Gnoll AoO on Kujo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 *hit*
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Kujo continues on, rushing up to the quarterdeck and scores another massive hit!

Pethwin and Samuel gang up on the second gnoll taking him down!

Kilgharrah tears into the remaining gnoll turning him into a furry, red stain!

Bite: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27 *hit*
Claw: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 1 = 20 *hit*
Claw: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23 *hit*

Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6

Round 3
First Mate (27 damage taken)
Pethwin
Kujo
Shang Li
Samuel
Shazzarra

The first mate steps back from Kujo, takes a deep breath as his hands quickly move to reload his pistol he levels the weapon at Kujo's head and fires!

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 *hit*
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Party up!

Seeing the battle turn in their favor, Samuel rushes up the stairs to moves alongside Kujo to threaten the first mate.

"Stand down slaver, you don't need to die today."

Double move.

Kujo is wearing Mithral Agile Breastplate, which I believe counts as light armor. Still, I don't know I can move that far since using Acro costs double movement for those threatened squares. However, I assume the gnoll is using Quick Draw to switch weapons on an AoO?

Perhaps some part of Samuel's offer of surrender registers with the enraged barbarian. That can be the only explanation as Kujo steps to the man bellows in rage and then tries to strike the man with the flat of his blade.

Intimidating Glare: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Non Lethal Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

The map does not look updated so not sure where to step, but obviously want to box the man against the railing

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Ah, good points. So no AoO for you!

Kujo's greatsword smacks the man upside the head, knocking him out.

Out of Combat!

Unless it's clear that someone is going to heal him, Kujo drops out of his rage and drinks one of the cure potions. Fatigued, he takes a knee, waiting for direction.

Samuel pauses only long enough for Kujo to take a breath and for his fellow agents to collect the valuables.

"Time is of the essence, the hostages could be in trouble."

Looking for a way down, the soldier barrels ahead.

Pethwen also pays little attention to the discarded items, trusting that someone else will collect them or that they'll have time to come back for them later. She seems much more eager to continue the 'hunt' than to claim the spoils of battle. She quickly follows on after Samuel.

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

The hold of the At Sea has been outfitted to allow for easy access from above and a mixture of live and boxed cargo. Iron rings attached to the inside of the hull on both sides provide anchor points for manacles. Along the port side, iron cages have been bolted to the floorboards and hull. Barrels of potable water and crates filled with dried carnivore feed are packed into several sections of the hold.

There are two doors toward the stern.

The fighting above deck has alerted the kennel master, who has released his beast from it's cage and it's currently menacing the chain up slaves, growling and slobbering. When the Pathfinders come down the stairs the kennel master orders the beast to attack!

Pethwen calls out as much for the slaves as for her companions. Her voice echoes in the ship's confined space like a very soundly beaten drum. "Your freedom is near, friends. This evil has been exposed and will soon be hunted out of your lives once and for all!"

Start Inspire Courage. Add +1 to all attack and damage rolls, including any above that waited for Pethwen before attacking.

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Sorry Pethwen, I've updated that as well. I had only updated the map under my name...

Kujo and Samuel slash deep wounds into the beast, knocking it to the floor in a bloody mess. Even as they remove their weapons, the wounds begin to close as the troll blood starts to regenerate the foul creature!

Round 2
Trollhound (34 damage - disabled)

Unable to secure a target last round, the Kennel Master drops his bow, and moves forward on one of the slaves drawing a falchion and swinging! The slave cries out and collapses in a bloody mess.

Samuel eyes widen I'm horror as he see's the slave collapse, without a moment of hesitation the Andoran breaks from combat and dashes round toward the kennel master, engaging the brute and threatening him with his blade.

Double move to engage the kennel master, provoking from the troll hound.

"Kujo, deal with that beast. Pethwen, can you save the injured?"

As he engages the kennel master the soldiers eyes narrow.

"Let's see if your so 'big' against an enemy that can defend themselves."

Pethwen?

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Kujo and Samuel cut down the kennel master, just as the Captain steps out from her cabin. Seeing her crewman cut down, she tosses a pair of kukri on the deck. "I yield," she says. Searching her and removing the rest of her gear, you find the keys to the manacles which the slaves are bound with. There are four slaves chained to the starboard side’s iron rings. Three are Keleshite and Vudrani humans, respectively, the fourth is a gnome, whom the gnolls have (unsurprisingly) gagged.

Pethwen uses the keys found on the captain to unlock the slaves manacles. When she removes the gag from the gnome, she launches into a verbal explosion, "hithanksimapathfindermynameisrillawatchoutforthattrollhoundheisnasty
doyousmellsmokeareyouheretorecueusialwaysknewvalsinhadasoftspotforme."

After pausing for a moment to compose herself, she continues, "Say, any of you know a Pathfinder named Sahar? Sahar Hasna? She's amazing! I mean, you guys are amazing too, but Sahar? She on, like, a whole other level! Always talking to that damn fox of hers. She's a good Keleshite girl from the deserts of Qadira, always wears that cover over her face. Wha'd she call it? Nakib, nabib, niqab! She told me she fought a dragon under Absalom once, in the sewers!"

Rilla bounces around excitedly, "Anyway, she was part of my last assignment. We got separated, and I got...umm, well. here. I just wondered if any of you knew her, or ran into her at the Grand Lodge maybe. So, before I ended up on this tub I was in the Okeno slave markets on Stonespire Island. A few different times I was taken from the market to a warehouse and a heavily veiled humanoid woman, who definitely wasn't Sahar, was really mean to me. Two of those times she even cut me and collected the blood in a fancy looking bowl!"

Samuel notices some smoke coming from behind the captain's door. He looks in the door and it looks like the captain's cabin. It contains an uncomfortable bed, a desk, a small chest, and a brazier bolted to the floor. The brazier has a pretty good fire going in it. There is paper ash and a few scraps of burnt paper fluttering around the room. Samuel manages to put out the fire before it can spread. There are bits of ash and paper fluttering around the room, Samuel notices one bit as it spirals down toward the ground and plucks it out of the air. The tiny, charred bit of parchment bears a single word written in black ink: "Muhlia"

The harbor pilot, Zigil, dutifully navigates the ship through the Ship Graveyard safely to the docks, where city officials take custody of the vessel. Lady Darchana herself is present and authorizes payment of the bounty. She suggests that she will accompany you to the Grand Lodge so that information can be shared and reports given in a 'secure location.'

Everyone arrives in Skyreach at Venture-Captain Valsin's office, and despite the late hour he is there waiting. He stands as you enter, bowing to Lady Darchana. "My lady, you grace me with your presence again. I believe my team has satisfactory news to report to you." He gives a few of you a meaningful glance, as if to say you better.

Rilla cannot contain herself or be bothered with decorum, she rushes forward and hugs the Venture-Captain. "Venture-Captain Valsin, thank you, thank you, thank you! I am honored you sent these fine Pathfinders to rescue me! I always knew you cared!"

Venture-Captain Vilsin accepts the hug, but rolls his eyes at the gnome's exuberance. "Welcome back to the Grand Lodge Rilla" he manages. Looking at the rest of you he says, "Well? Report!"

Samuel offers a formal salute to the Venture Captain, stepping forward and offering the burnt scrap of paper.

"It seems that the slaves came from the Stonespire Islands, held by a human woman, possibly this 'Muhlia'? The four present here were the only ones located on this specific vessel, but I suspect there will be plenty of others out there. We have the captain in custody, if the good Lady would like further information from her. Aside from that, there is little to report that the Society would not be aware of."

The soldier completes his report with another salute, and steps back awaiting further comment from the Venture Captain.

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Venture-Captain Valis nods his head as Samuel recounts the day's adventure, it is the closest thing to pride you've ever seen on this man's face. A look of shock and surprise comes over his face as he examines the paper.

"You there, Captain Wardak, you work for Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri?" the Venture-Captain demands.

The captain just scowls at him, unspeaking.

Lady Darchana arches an eyebrow and looks at Valsin. "It's worse than I feared. Guards!" she calls out into the hall and two powerfully built women dressed in scale mail enter and secure the captain. "You know where to take her."

Turning back to the Pathfinders, "It seems this may become an all too often greeting for awhile." She begins casting a spell* and then glances around the room carefully.

"Pathfinders, you have done a great service to Absalom today. The full extent, understandably, may never be widely known or recognized by the sleeping masses, but know that the Pathfinder Society can count on me as a friend and ally, and I hope that I may call upon you again in the future should the need arise." she says, satisfied with her magic.

Rilla recounts what she can to Venture-Captain Valsin about her time spent in the Okeno slave markets on Stonespire Island, confirming several interactions with a heavily veiled humanoid woman who forcibly took blood samples on two occasions. Finally Rilla asks, "What of Sahar? The others?"

Venture-Captain Valsin closes his eyes and slowly shakes his head. "No contact," is all he says on the matter.
