The day passes like any others, Captain Veane consults with the navigator in the morning, trading places as needed. The first mate Marzack grumbles about crew not doing what they should when they should, but manages to keep the ship sailing.
The night and day passes like any others*. Thanzerin is friendly to the Pathfinders and the crew, but never leaves his post. Others leave their bunks to visit with Azuretta. Shira's food gets worse.
The nights and days pass like any others*. Anera continues to give Dylara and Beads a crusty eye. Ulamon sometimes employs magic to fill the sails with wind, proving himself an invaluable navigator.
*let me know how you spend the days and the nights.

Before entering Killick's room, Dylara will always cast Guidance on both Beads and herself. +1 to a skill check.

If it looks like Killick's almost convinced enough to speak up, and some more gold would be likely to convince him to share the info needed, Dylara is willing to pay another 5 gp.

Excellent, I'll gladly dive in and help wherever Marzack thinks he needs the extra help.

Traceni welcomes any and all interaction with the entire crew. She warms up, still a little spacey as always, but spending more time with everyone. She does, in fact, try to spend more time with Killik, but not about business, necessarily; she is genuinely interested in learning more about he, himself.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

Anera answers Traceni's queries with thrifty words and she eventually learns that she lost her love several years ago while adventuring in the wilds of Kyonin. She has been with the Throaty Mermaid for almost a year. Her osprey is too young yet to fly on its own, but she seems to enjoy his company.
Feel free to ask questions, IC or OOC. It is AnEra, I keep spelling AnAra, I think, because of Firefly :)
Killick after appropriate payment for his time, relates the story of getting 'chattel' in or out of the Katapeshi port of Okeno.
Branson occasionally heads to the bow himself, practicing his craft by calling dolphins to swim in the ocean or eagles to fly in the wind.
Feel free to retcon something else in the intervening days.
Another day passes, another night... doesn't.

![]() |

So Dylara lost 5 extra gold on the third day, that did it? If I hadn't paid 5 additional gold, would I have had more moments to try?
"Thanks, Beads!" Dylara says to her new friend, or at least that's how Dylara came to view the story collector. "I feel like you saved me there!"
On the fourth day Dylara also meets Anera, and starts a conversation with her. The osprey takes Dylara's interest. Dylara tells about her parents, who are birdkeepers. "One day I'll take over the family business, but I want to see more of the world before I do."
Dylara spends most of the day talking to the crew of the ship, finally having the time to do so without feeling the pressure of another task. Then... night falls...

![]() |

First day: "That must be difficult indeed. I understand your sorrow, Anera. My patron, the Lost Prince, suffers in sorrow in his palace, keenly aware of how, in the end, all things become lost. But no, it does not allay the sorrow. Please, if you ever need to reminisce, let someone else know whatever you do about your love, I am more than willing to listen. I would be be happy to carry your love's story with me."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
First evening: Traceni tries her hand at dancing and entertainment with Azuretta. She gladly gets out and dances with whomever among the passengers and crew wishes, trying to see who would be more interested in helping her personally, later.
Perform(Dance): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Second day: Spends more time with Killik, mainly just to get to know him better. Trying to gauge if there is anything that interests him in addition to gold. Show a lot of fascination with his devotion to Besmara.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Second evening: More of the same as last evening, spending more time with those more appreciative of her presence. Will tell stories of things lost and found, and talk about her kinship with the fey.
Perform(Oratory): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Third day: Switch focuses to letting people come to her, tell her stories, continue to ingratiate herself with the crew and be a charming (if a little disconnected) companion.

As Dylara approaches Anera she sets her feet and puts a hand on her hilt. She listens to Dylara's introduction and begins to scowl. "See the world? That is all we were doing when you killed my Masilk!" If Dylara continues Anera has no problem drawing blades and, she hopes, elf blood.
Traceni's conversation with the woman may explain her loathing for the elves. The patrol that killed her love had no mercy, there was no warning and no lesser penalties. The two knew they were in elven territory, but is was a wildland not someone's estate or a city. The 'treacherous' elves slew him with no quarter and she was forced to flee.
EDIT: I will use Traceni's diplomacy rolls as they become relevant.
One of the duties of the Pathfinders is night watch. (I must have missed this at the beginning of the scenario). Unless someone has a different plan, I will assume three watches and need to know who is on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd watch.

![]() |

Ah... someone told me one of the NPCs hates elves... so this is her.
I have an elf ranger with humans as favored enemy, I wonder how she'd fare in this scenario xD
Dylara takes a step back, and will continue to do so with each word she speaks. "I... just... liked... the... bird..." Dylara looks around warily, then walks away while keeping her eyes on Anera. "Bye..."
Shouldn't take my eyes off of her, she'll stab me in the back...
I don't mind taking the first watch :)

As Dylara approaches Anera she sets her feet and puts a hand on her hilt. She listens to Dylara's introduction and begins to scowl. "See the world? That is all we were doing when you killed my Masilk!"
Mallack steps in, hand on his own blade
You try so much as draw that blade, and you will face me. She did not kill your loved one, if you dislike her because of race, every race would hate each other. Now. Back off
![]() |

"Thanks Malleck. Though if she doesn't like me I guess I'll just stay away from her. Luckily there are others aboard the ship to talk to."
Malleck's a nice kitty, I like him. I wonder if he purs, like other kitties that are smaller, walk on all fours, and don't talk. Does he like milk? Sure he does.

![]() |

He nods at Dylara, but he keeps his ground till Dylara is either out of harms way or the human who insulted her backs away

![]() |

Once away from Anera, Branson will turn to Dylara and ask, do the two of you have a history, or is this a general animosity towards elves?
On the subject of standing watch, Branson states, i require a full night of rest to stay current on my devotions, however should something occur during the night, I am permitted to fight without negative consequences, so awake me if required.

![]() |

"I've only seen her once or twice earlier, and never before spoke to her," Dylara replies to Branson. Dylara shrugs as she raises her hands, palms facing up. "No idea what I did wrong. I think she hates elves in general."
"Thank you, guys. I'll let you know if I need any help."

![]() |

Lizzy will explore the ship some more, talking to crew on their bits of free time.
She will also have a talk with Azuretta.
The talk
"Hey there miss Azuretta, mind if i join you?"
"I have to say, that kind of dance was...new to me. Great for keeping up spirits, undeniably so.
Do you have any skills you could teach me? I've graduated from theatre school in Magnimar, but there's only so much we can learn there."

![]() |

Traceni offers to take third watch, although she tends to lie prostrate on the deck looking skyward during dawn.
"It is right to feel sorrow for what we have lost. But please, we don't need to turn this all to anger. Anger will only bring us more sorrow. Dylara, perhaps it's best to step away and not remind Anera of her pain right now. Anera, perhaps we could go elsewhere to talk about Masilk and the beauty of the spirit of adventure?"

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

Disappointed by the opportunity to spill elf blood, Anera backs down. "It's a long voyage, dandelion-eater, be careful not to give me justifiable cause." She lets the matter drop and goes back to her business. Throughout the week nothing escalates beyond a challenge to a game of knives which Thanzeril (bodyguard) refuses to accept. This puts Anera in a bad mood, but threatens no further action.
I shall add Beads to first watch with Dylara, and Brandon on third watch (with Traceni) so he can get a full nights sleep before preparing spells. Malleck has second watch on his own, which it seems, is quite preferable to the magus.
