Dylara bites her lip for a second as she looks at Malleck, then shrugs.
What's it matter anyway...
"That's a pair of rust monsters, isn't it? You're bringing them to Riddleport. I wish to know if you might be open to working with the Qadira to bring magical beasts in and out of Katheer. If you are, I wish to establish a line of communication in the event the Qadira may use your services in the future."
Dylara nods her head into Traceni's direction. "Given Traceni's previous interest in the same matters, I think she wants the same. Except I'm not sure if you're Qadira as well, Traceni? If you are, I think I would've been informed. If you're not, well isn't that lucky for Mr. Dorhay? Business with two new factions."

"You have a keen eye. Yes they are a mated pair." Volgara chats with the Pathfinders for as long as they like, establishing an agreement with Traceni and Dylara.

Dylara chats for some time with Volgara. Some time later, when Beads asks a question, Dylara turns to the gnome. "I thought I might've needed some help. Seems I was wrong. Though I'll have to revisit Killick some time, perhaps you can help with that?"
"Or perhaps you can?" Dylara asks Traceni, taking the sheet she wrote on before from her coat and handing it to Traceni. "It's what I gave Killick before. He seemed interested in the gold, but then he only wanted to talk to you. I'm going to try again tomorrow, and then give him the gold. But perhaps you're willing to tell me what he told you?"
"You once served aboard a very successful slaving vessel out of the Katapeshi port of Okeno.
I'd like information from you regarding smuggling in and out of this important city.
I'll give you a gold for it."
When Traceni's done reading, Dylara hands the sheet to Beads. Dylara doesn't try to stop Branson from reading it if he wants to.

![]() |

Traceni stops to smile first. "Oh, hello! I could have sworn you were flying around. Oh, but yes, Killik and I had a fruitful conversation. What did he have to say? Not much, other than he responds better to coin than blackmail."
"Speaking of coin," indicating Velagon and Dylara, "There's a shipment in Katheer that requires a gentle touch. Where's yours, Dylara?"

![]() |

Malleck I meant, not Branson. Whoops!
"I'll try the coin right away next time," Dylara replies.
"Hmm what, gentle touch?" Dylara seems confused. "I have to pay someone else too?"
But I want to keep my money! Nooo!

With the conversation concluded, the party returns to their quarters or hangs about deck. Near dusk, dinner is called and the crew gathers in the galley. The ship's main hold servers at the and temporary storage. Currently a number of strange pipes are store here.
The captain takes over the helm, leaving the navigator free to join the meal. His name is Ulamon, a Bonuwat shaman from the looks of him. The ship's cook is a one-eyed dwarf with a mouth of silvered teeth, a nasty scar on her cheek an she is missing half her left ear. A chelish half-elf introduces herself as Azuretta and is responsible for keeping up the ship's morale. The others at the table are the folks you have already met. Thanzeril takes his meal at his post by the door (which is part of the same area).

Lizzy listens carefully at what is said.
Ooh, if the sun shines on the cook's teeth she could blind with her smile...literally.
She hops down from her seat and heads up to Azuretta.
"Excuse me miss Azuretta, hello ^.^..."
"You mentioned you "keep the crew's morale high", so i was wondering, are you a bard?"

![]() |

Branson is quite hungry, he did not realize how much work this sailing is!
is there anyone aboard who could begin teaching me to tie knots? I understand it is an invaluable part of being a sailor. He looks around the room hoping to find a taker.

Azuretta smiles at the bard lasciviously. "Indeed I am. Would you like to partake of my performance? I will have to charge you, since you are not a part of the crew, but a gnome as cute as yourself certainly deserves a special offer." She smiles again, lifting a leg over the bench before sitting down. A lot of thigh is revealed, maybe something more for someone the size of the gnome.

"Beads, aren't you a bard too? Perhaps you can both perform something, that'll be fun!"

Melon forces herself in between Dylara and Malleck (who I hereby assume sit next to each other). The roc takes some of the food from Malleck's plate in her beak, then throws her head back and swallows it.

"No, no, Melon! Those are bad manners, you can't just do that!" Dylara says like a mother to her misbehaving kid.
"I'm sorry Malleck, she's still young."

"Hmm...cinnamon, a hint of jasmin and...umberberries. Sweet aromas indeed, as she looks up at Azuretta.

GM, does you description a gnome would see more than her thigh mean she's carrying things in unusual places?

Goodness, umberberries, I haven't smelled those since I was a boy! From whence is that amazing smell?

Azuretta showing your more than thigh was a prelude to her 'performance'. She isn't carrying anything, or rather isn't wearing anything.
I am just trying to keep things pg-13. :) Since I cannae look around the table and guess, is PG-13 OK with everyone? G? NC-17? R? (more relevant question for gore or language than sex)
To Branson she smiles delightedly "That's not up to me. But if your companion is willing, the charge is not too much more."
Dinner passes uneventfully, as does the evening. a couple of the sailors break out simple instruments: tin whistle, hand-drum, and a four string miniature lute type thing. Their small tune is enough for Azuretta to start a dance or two. If Beads is willing, or any others would like to add to the merriment of the first night on the open sea, the evening stretches out late.
please feel free to add anything in the evening. Otherwise we shall begin the next day.
Afterward the night crew begins their shift, and the ship settles into a quiet night that passes as uneventful as dinner has.

Dylara, having completely misunderstood the idea of 'performing', suddenly understands what was meant. "Oooohhhhh... Now I get it..."
"You're into that kinda thing?" Dylara asks Beads, slightly frowning at the gnome. "You don't seem like the type."
Dylara dances while the music plays, but leaves after an hour or so. "Sleepy sleepy time," she says, and goes to her bed.

Alrighty then, spells set for the next morning
After having watched the dancing, and finally being convinced that the other show was never going to materialize, Branson says, goodnight all, I will see you in the morning, and he heads to find his bedroll. While searching he mutters, the ship isn't that large, but every direction looks alike.
If we get to morning, Branson will start the day with his morning rituals to Korada, which look very much like tai chi.
Branson will sleep in his chain shirt (this isn't his first rodeo!)

Dylara follows after Beads. "Come, Melon. Time for some fresh air."

![]() |

Dylara
You can have a look at GM's info, to decide your stuff. :)
GM:
Lizzy and Dylara have gone outside for some "fresh air".
Lizzy will seek out the closest deckcrew near the pipe to have a chat with, while Dylara's roc is supposed to fetch the pipe.
"Hello mister, mind if i join you for a chat?"
Looking out over the sea;
"I'm from the city and have never set foot on a ship. It's quite something. Lady Azuretta is nice too, inviting me to dance too."
Cue short pause...
"If i were ever to spend some years aboard a ship, what would i need to learn about sailing to do so?"

Dylara, Melon and Beads arrive on the deck to a silent night sky. The navigator is tending the wheel, but ignores the pair as they ascend the forecastle. The space above is empty and looking west the only demarcation of a horizon is line across the dark area below which there are no stars.

Come (DC 15): The animal comes to you, even if it normally would not do so.
Defend (DC 20): The animal defends you (or is ready to defend you if no threat is present), even without any command being given. Alternatively, you can command the animal to defend a specific other character.
Exclusive (DC 20): The animal takes directions only from the handler who taught it this trick. If an animal has both the exclusive and serve tricks, it takes directions only from the handler that taught it the exclusive trick and those creatures indicated by the trainer's serve command. An animal with the exclusive trick does not take trick commands from others even if it is friendly or helpful toward them (such as through the result of a charm animal spell), though this does not prevent it from being controlled by other enchantment spells (such as dominate animal), and the animal still otherwise acts as a friendly or helpful creature when applicable.
Fetch (DC 15): The animal goes and gets something. If you do not point out a specific item, the animal fetches some random object.
Flee (DC 20): The animal attempts to run away or hide as best it can, returning only when its handler commands it to do so. Until such a command is received, the animal does its best to track its handler and any creatures with him or her, remaining hidden but within range of its sight or hearing. This trick is particularly useful for thieves and adventurers in that it allows the animal to evade capture, then return later to help free its friends.

In the morning the crew go about their normal duties. Members of the party have their own morning routines, some studying, others meditating, maybe other simply sharpen their blades. The party is free to join in some of the mundane tasks, but are just as often told to stay out of the way for other sailing duties. The day, like many on the open sea, passes uneventfully, except for anything the party would like to work on.

Lizzy get's woken up by Dylara, standing tall above the little bard.
"Sure..let. me get dressed."
She puts on her things and hops into her shoes, taking a little apple she had stashed to go.
"Done, good to go."
As they arrived at mr Killick, Lizzy at first watches as Dylara talked to the man, munching on a piece of the apple. She whispers to melon
"She's not..*munch*...having luck is she?"
After the mishap she appears from behind Dylara.
"Good morning mister Killick. I'd like to ask a seasoned seaman like you something.
I was wondering, do you have adventures to tell about? Like great cities, danger and adventure, smuggling or that sort of stuff?
Seems like great stories to me.
I will, bard's honor, *places hand over heart*."not tell anybody, the story stays right here. Please?"
