Darius, in case you didn't see it in the previous message, I'd like a SR check for your fireball, please. Moreover, I almost forgot: since you were hit by the swarm, you can attempt a Ref save for your weapon to avoid becoming broken. I don't think Volfie or Grimtooth have any equipment on them, so they don't need to make that save unless they have something.

Alright, I'll use your SR roll for the Derakni on the second swarm, which means both swarms' SR is bypassed.

A holy column of positive energy is brought down from the skies, Sarenrae's might made manifest. One of the swarm is able to partly resist Cairo's divine smite, yet the other vescavor swarm isn't as fortunate, and is hit fully. The consequences are dramatic: most of the swarm is gone, yet it has not scattered.

In fact Arntoth, Darius, Ace and Atum all are neutral, which means they all need to save (Will DC 17, 15 damage if failed, 7 if succeeded).

Both Deraknis take flight, and after a dozen feet, disappear, only to reappear behind the fountain! Their wings emit an exteremely painful droning sound to your ears, yet it proves mesmerizing in a way. You feel your mind slowly ebbing away, sinking into insanity.

Alright, this is when it gets tough: in addition to the saves imposed by the vescavor swarms (distraction / item damage for those inside & gibbering aura for everyone), everyone has to make two other Will saves (DC 20 this time) to avoid becoming confused for 1d4 rounds, see below.

Please roll the saves in this order:
1) Distraction - (Fort DC 15, only if you're inside a swarm: Darius, Volfie, Grimtooth)
2) Ravenous - weapon (or other equipment) becomes broken (Ref DC 15, only if you're inside a swarm and have equipment: Darius)
3) Gibber - confused 1 round (Will DC 15 negates, everyone)

Atum keeps his wits about him and turns about, taking a step towards the nearest derakni as his flesh begins to solidify into solid stone and his form grows to twice its former size.

5' step back, swift action to active my Ka Stone (righteous might and some other bonuses), full attack! +3 weapons count as cold iron and silver, although I'm sure you knew that already. I don't think we learned about DR but I have a suspicion I'll need good-aligned as well.

Ace sees his friends looking funny because of the sound, so casts a Hideous Laughter on the southern Vescavor Swarm and combines it with a Countersong. Harmonic Spell: When casting a spell, you can change performances as a swift action.

He then circles around the Vescavor Swarm away from the giant locust thing.

Hideous Laughter - DC 21 - Mind-affecting Compulsion

Countersong: Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard himself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard's Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard's Perform skill check result for the save.

Darius moves out of the swarm and begins chanting again.. A tattoo of flame along his arm jumps to life.. It moves and explodes in another fireball.. Man yalls movement is killing me.. I really need to get both swarms in this but people are gonna catch it again.. Being my last AoE im afraid i have no choice.. Sorry Ace and pet companions..

Too true. We have the chops to bring down the demons without much problem, really. But swarms are a HUGE pain. Hopefully Darius got at least one of them, since the southern one failed its save against Holy Smite...

Ace: Gibber is a mind-affecting, compulsion, insanity effect, whereas Drone is a sonic, mind-affecting effect. And sure, you can aim your spell at the northern swarm.

Secondly, Osric acted before you (better init), so he and Grimtooth need to save vs. Drone and all, will take their turn, then Ace can act, giving countersong to everyone. I'll wait for Osric and Grimtooth's saves before resolving everything else.

Osric and his pet wolf do nothing but struggle internally to regain control of their senses, of themselves.

Ace tells a joke, throwing a tiny fruit tart to the northern vescavor swarm, then bellows a masterful song to shake off the effects of that horrid drone.
Will save: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 4 = 19
The swarms bursts out in a demonic laughter sending shivers down your spine, yet the vescavor swarm doesn't react to its surroundings, and won't move anytime soon.

Arntoth and Volfie attack the norther Derakni, and while the barbarian smashes the giant locust with all his might, the wolf isn't able to pierce the tough chitinous armor of its quarry.

SR vs southern swarm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 Remember that shooting at several targets implies several SR checks.
Darius's fireball hits both swarms, but also some of the magus's allies.
Ref (north): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Ref (south): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
While the northern swarm - still laughing manically - remains together, the southern swarm is hit fully by the fireball. The last remains of it scatter quickly.

Atum steps up and hits the derakni with all his might, yet it might not have been enough were it not for Ace's songs. The living monolith pierces the though hide twice.

Ace will step forward and cast Hideous Laughter on the big locust guy harassing Atum and swap his Bardic Performance for Dirge of Doom. All enemies gain the shaken condition, no save [–2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.]

DC 21 Hideous Laughter, the Derakni takes a -2 to his save. Also, the Derakni and the Vescavor Swarms are demons, right? They don't get a +4 to their saves against the spell because Ace is a Scion of Humanity Aasimar which means he counts as an Outsider and a Humanoid, thus their types match.

Darius moves and attacks the locust on Arnoth, fighting defensively and using combat expertise..

Arntoth, as soon as you dropped the derakni would have made his other attacks on someone else. I think that the first attack drops you, right? If so, please make the Fort save against poison, and the two claws as well as the stong attack are redirected on Darius. The bad news is that you need to make two saves, since you are still poisoned from last round (in case you fail the second one, you'll take another 1d4 ⇒ 1 Con damage).

The combined efforts of Osric and Atum slay the southern derakni, which draws his last breath with a vile hiss!

Osric attacked first, so it's Atum's first attack that fell the beast, so Atum may change his other attacks into a move action, if he so wishes.

Wow, lots of action while I was asleep.

1st: Inspire Courage was only up for the first round and I was rotating through song. 2nd: The Swarm only gets one extra save before having to sit out until the end of the spell (7 rounds), not an extra save every round.

2nd: Correct on the Dirge of Doom only affecting the southern Locust and the remaining swarm.

3rd: Ace is glad that Osric's pet didn't KO me.
