PbP GameDay 2: PFS 5-08 The Confirmation (tier 1-2)
A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for level 1-2.
Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

This game is part of the Official Pathfinder Society PbP Game Day. For more information please visit: http://PbPGameday.com. As such, it will start on April 5th.
Important points to consider before applying:
This is a Pathfinder Society (PFS) game. If you don't know what PFS is, please read this page, then download and read the Guide to PFS Organized Play. Please make sure your character is legal according to the guide and the additional resources list.
This is a replayable module. You can play it as many times as you wish with 1st-level characters, as long as a single character doesn't play it more than once. You can play it once with a second-level character as well.
Please post with your applying character, including level and class. Subtier will be decided according to the applications submitted.
I will expect one post a day for each participant, so that we can hope to go through this game in a month or so.
Roleplaying will be expected from my players. Enjoy the opportunity to flesh out a brand-new character!

@Stemboy: Sure, bring him along!
@Cha-Ka Ra: Welcome to PFS Ogranized Play! I've scanned over your character but everything seems alright. Cha-Ka (any connection with the secondary character in "Stargate SG-1"?) seems a very fun character!
The roster currently is:
1. Ilmakis (character not yet chosen)
2. Cutter - cavalier 2
3. Stemboy - enchanter 1
4. Cha-Ka Ra - slayer 1
5. open
6. open
By the way, Discussion thread and Gameplay thread are open so that you can dot them.

@Sunshineband: You're welcome to join! You'll need to create a PFS character for this.
@Ilmakis: With the current roster, either would be an asset. Pick who you'd like to play with :)
The roster currently is:
1. Ilmakis (cleric or bard (archeologist))
2. Cutter - cavalier 2
3. Ardisen - enchanter 1
4. Cha-Ka Ra - slayer 1
5. Sunshineband - ninja 1?
6. open

Alright, you'll just need to post your complete stats (see this profile for example).
Still one spot available!

Zane, I've just seen that you applied to another game with the same character. Are you aware that while you're playing a PFS PbP game, your character is "locked" in this game until it ends and that you can't play in other games with the same character meanwhile?
If you want to take part in both, you can always create a second character and play both in parallel.
Let me know what your decision for this game is. Additionally, could you post the complete character sheet for Zane please?

I won't take a seventh player, but there's no news from Zane (who made two applications with a single character) and he still hasn't posted his profile. Moreover, I've played many games with you and enjoyed them, so you're in. It's great to have you back at my table!
Please report in the discussion/gameplay threads.

That was the case until the end of season 4. Now you don't add a +1 anymore, and you can't normally choose whether you play up or down as you did before.
Determining Subtiers
In order to determine which subtier a mixed-level group of PCs must play in, calculate the group’s average party level (APL). Divide the total number of character levels by the number of characters in the party. You should always round to the nearest whole number.Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment. For scenarios written in Seasons 0 to 3, when the APL is in between subtiers, a party of six or seven characters must play the higher subtier. Parties with four or five characters must play the lower subtier. In the fringe case where there are no players that are high enough to have reached the subtier level (such as a party of six 3rd level characters), the group may decide to play down to the lower subtier.
Additionally, The Confirmation has a special rule concerning determining subtiers:
When calculating the Average Party Level (APL) for a group, round to the nearest value; allow a group with an APL of 1.5 to choose which subtier to play.
For now, we have 1 vote to play up, 4 neutral votes. Unless Garret objects, we'll play up.
