Adeah's pretty good at Craft (alchemy), so if she's asked to whip something up she can do that. Might be safer just to buy it, but that's an option. I'm with Awen in that I don't see how spreading rumors accomplishes the goal, so I still like the "lace the food" option.

A note about aristocratic society or Kajarrit society or Plane of Fire society or Efreet Society:

A host vouches for his guests. Spreading rumors about a guest is spreading rumors of the host. Inviting someone who would spread such rumors implies the host would spread such rumors also. Forcing a host to come to the defense of a guest, implies said host is an ally of said guest. Even though such an alliance ends when the event does, someone will always remember when person H came to person G's aid. Favors may be owed/paid(or worse, imagined favors may be owed/paid.)

Also: the scenario says so :)

So maybe we insult his enemies/rivals, forcing him to vouch for them and come to their aid? That could make things a little rough for him.

We can Alchemy some stuff up and slip it into food/drink. Milt can diplo/bluff the rumors, we can drug the musicians. It seems like the goal is to avoid a fight. I was also thinking if we can dig up some info on how Basira feels about certain factions (Know local to Gather info maybe) and tell the parties the actual truth on his views.

Sai: I only took the rebuke personal insofar as that it showed me how badly I had erred. No offence taken on my part, and I wanted to be sure that I had apologized for any offence given to any of you in any way.

    That being said:
Awen has nothing that he wishes to do before the party. We didn't bring it up in gameplay, but if I can't keep my weapons, I will leave them at Yasmines along with Grog and Cuchulainn. I will retain at least my dagger, spell components, Thieves tools, and all armor permitted.

Upon Entry, Awen would like to remain with Sai and whomever else wishes to join us. If an opportunity presents itself, Awen would "disappear" either before entering the main room or soon thereafter. He is not one for mingling!

During: I really have no idea where Awen fits in here. He can help with the diplo to spread rumors if you wish, but he would still not be a part of drugging the musicians or the guests.

Unless, the problem isn't with Paizo but with Apple. I know Apple's TOS is very picky about what apps are allowed to do, particularly with how they interact with other things-- iPhone apps are supposed to be pretty strictly "sandboxed," so maybe posting to an external website is a no-no.

There are goggles you can lend out at 12k a pop (or 20k will give them superior darkvision). Or buy a wand of darkvision. I've considered building a character around exactly that, but when you combine the expense of giving your allies darkvision with the number of monsters that have it already anyway, I don't know how useful that'd be.

^^^ THIS! I think that this is the first time that Awen has used this ability since very low levels because when I found out Pathfinder had nerfed Darkness, I just wrote it off and never really went back and looked at it again. I went in thinking of Drow darkness from D+D, and got socked with a big old nope-coaster of rule changes.

Because of that, I never really looked at things to help out the rest of the team.. but damn 12 grand is a lot to spend! If I do anything, it would be a wand.

This did seem to go long when I look back on it, but that is typical in RP heavy scenarios with the PbP format. Assuming 1 post per day, a typical conversation can take weeks because each question takes two days (1 to ask, 1 to respond). Painlord's guide to PbP is a good thread to check out for this reason (linked in my profile). I think that was less of an issue than encountering the proverbial PbP door. We had several times when we had three options and two people would agree on which one (I like 3), and person number three added a 4th option. This is less of an issue in the next part, which has more combat.

When is GenCon exactly? I know August, but not which weekend. No I will not be there. There you go lottery: I have issued the challenge! Prove me wrong!

I think the odds are good. Though we could have chosen to solve any of the previous encounters with combat, we went the route of Gather Info, Diplomacy and Barrister. It is good for characters like Milton and the investigators. People rarely have a hard time choosing actions in combat. Don't let that stop you from

If you do not want to continue for the next game, let me know. I want to add a few of the RP things that can only be reached through a Faction Mission. I will then post the sequel's introduction (keeping the same thread). If you have levels to add, there is no rush. Please have them done before the first encounter comes along.

Exchange Faction leader Aaqir al’Hakam and a high-ranking partner Guaril Karela both give missions. They both want to recruit contacts on the plane of fire, but they disagree on the methods.

I found the recruit's responses to the various offers intriguing. If this sort of thing doesn't interest you, you can ignore them.

    Carlin:
Carlin presents two excellent opportunities for members of the Exchange faction. On one hand, Carlin Nestor is an established criminal with many connections and a solid track record in Zjarra, despite his recent troubles. That makes him an ideal contact for Guaril Karela. Carlin isn’t really looking for new clients at the moment, and he’s hesitant to work with a “backwater” group from the Material Plane. However, he’s willing to make an exception in exchange for a cup of naga tears. If asked why he needs such a thing, he grows defensive and embarrassed, simply stating “Out here away from the Material Plane, we don’t use coins as much as barter. I have a use for them, and that’s all you need to know.” A PC might recall that naga tears are an ingredient in an elixir said to combat very powerful curses, such as those inflicted by demon lords.
Carlin’s also an active criminal who Zjarran officials would dearly love to arrest if they knew the extent of his exploits. Convincing him to describe his extended resume and passing that information to Yasmine helps establish Exchange faction PCs as upstanding future citizens on the Plane of Fire, which promotes Aaqir al’Hakam’s agenda.

    Malini:
Despite her mischievous side, Malini is an upstanding citizen of Zjarra with solid connections to numerous suppliers and distributors. This makes her a good contact for the Exchange as it sets up shop on the Plane of Fire, forwarding Aaqir al’Hakam’s agenda of promoting legitimate business. PCs can coax her to cooperate with the Exchange as it opens businesses in Zjarra.
If the PCs instead antagonize her they can promote Guaril Karela’s agenda of establishing the Exchange as a protection racket or otherwise aggressive force that is better to placate than oppose. Taking this latter tact requires that PC to convey his affiliation while antagonizing Malini and succeeding at a DC 20 Intimidate check. She might still fear the PC if he fails the check, but it’s only threatening enough for her to contact law enforcement authorities later, not respect Guaril’s strength.

    Vassago:
Were he not bound by his contract, Vassago would be an excellent agent for the Exchange faction—assuming the Exchange chooses to pursue a more aggressive and criminal tact like Guaril Karela favors. If the PCs can secure the imp’s freedom he’s willing to hear them out. A faction PC can convince Vassago that it’s in his best interests to work for the Exchange, doing so as a contractor and not as a slave. To preserve his relationship with Malini, the imp vigorously refuses any offers in earshot of his spouse.

    Soheila or Yohai:
If the PCs fail to convince Soheila to sign
the document, Yohai offers to escort them out. As soon as they are in the airlock, however, she addresses the PCs, advising them that Soheila is incompetent and that there is no way that Qalkami would concede to her demands. Frustrated at her incompetent superior, Yohai explains that if Soheila were to die, Yohai would not only be empowered to sign Qalkami’s contract, but she would also be happy to do so. If the PCs agree, she explains that in order to deny involvement, she’ll need to depart the premises before the attack occurs.

Regardless of whether the PCs make an arrangement with Soheila or Yohai, members of the Exchange faction can pursue a trade arrangement between the Cerulean Wave and the Exchange. If successful, the naga furnishes the PC with contact information that can be provided to the Exchange for further negotiation, promoting Aaqir al’Hakam’s agenda. ** Members of the Exchange might also seek naga tears that they can provide to Carlin Nestor in exchange for his services. Both nagas are amused by the request, and either one agrees to provide a few tears if the PCs can evoke them with a moving performance.

    Party guests:
Members of the Exchange faction have an opportunity to make a lasting impression on one or more important people here. Unlike most faction prompts, there is no intended way to accomplish this. Instead, let the players invent a plan. As the GM, assess the plan... That open ended-ness sounds like fun for players, not so much for GMs :)

    EDIT: Correct, a two-part series.

Hey Venture, I thought I told you I was going slow when I sent you my PFS number in a PM. Sorry if I didn't mention that. Any chance you can correct the chronicle sheet?

    However... I am back! S what's next?
    Oh yeah: Chronicles

This link should take you to the folder with everyone's chronicle. It looks that way from here (which is not the computer I shared them from). If you only see one chronicle, try going up to the folder. It is entirely possible I uploaded the wrong file, or mixed up the names on the files. Please let me know if you are unable to get your chronicle.

EDIT: I think Milton needs his mailed, and forgot to do that. Again: fixed tomorrow.

Sorry about that. I knew two people had mentioned slow track, but I went through the thread a couple of times and couldn't find the second person. I FORGOT about the PM.

Yes I will get it fixed tomorrow.

Ok I got it. For some reason, every time I clicked the link on my phone it would only show Nivik's sheet-- I had to open the desktop version of Google Drive to see all of them. Thanks!
