You know, either the nurses uniform or the french maid outfit could be worn under the burqa. This may come down to footwear.

You know, that is very true! I have heard rumors that married women wear some elaborate and beautiful "silks" under their burqas for their husbands to see in private.. why not go for gender equality and do the same!!

Agreed. I figured the GM had a busy weekend but it's Wednesday now, lol. I hope all is well with him

Sorry all.
My weekend is Sunday (well... Sunday Monday with the holiday), & I had a fair amount of catching up to do yesterday. I am back & will have a post up shortly.

Being late to the party here, I just now realized that this is a two part story line. Are there any plans to take on both parts, or is this a stand alone?
Edit: looking through the first couple of pages, I think I found that yes, that is the plan?

I am definitely down for playing the next in the series with everyone to complete it. Having a great time.

Oh certainly. That's why I was asking! And my OCD about finishing things had absolutely nothing to do with that.. I promise! ;-)

GM, may I ask, does the scenario actually call out profession(barrister) as a way to handle this task?
If so, then I am quite pleased to have been of service!
This would be the second scenario then that Milton has played where Barriestering is exactly the way to solve a challenge. In the other one, it could have been Diplomacy, or Barrister, and I chose to use Barrister, even though my Diplomacy was better, because I figured "hey! When is this skill ever going to be called out again?"

Nice!
I like it when scenarios have obscure success conditions. "You can either attack this thing, or make a Craft (baskets) check." So that one player who has ranks in Craft (baskets) can have his moment of "YESSSS!"

EDIT: Aye 'tis the plan to do both parts with the same group. :)
It's rarely a one check wins all, but in this case an Int check is the other option to Profession (barrister). You can also see that Fendel's hard work DID pay off.
I have spoiler tagged it for those who don't want a look behind the scenes, but you have finished the scene so 'tis not really a spoiler.
and of course the one you didn't get:

Players who completed Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–17: Fires of Karamoss may have received the Outstanding Bounty boon, which provides them a very valuable document they can redeem on the Plane of Fire (many NPCs see the value of the document).
The first bonus is specific to the Exchange faction mission. The Second grants a small bonus in the negotiations with the inevitable, which you didn't need.
If you have the boon and would like it to use it here in Zjarra, please let me know how and when. I will work with you.

I haven't played that, but it sounds interesting.

Shall I take a moment to apologize for Milton's ego?
LMAO Nah, we're all good!!

Remember, they're actively trying to keep us from stealing it.
What is that link intended to be?
I had once heard that the Declaration of Independence is 1,458 words long, that the Gettysburg Address is 272 words, and the preamble to the US Constitution 52; yet the government regulations on the sale of cabbages is over a thousand pages long. Not quite accurate, but I think of cabbages when it comes to long legal documents.
Plus there's this.
Sai'Dothwyn

One must always be precise when dealing with cabbages. Those things can be dangerous if left unchecked. ;)

So bad Awen.. so very, very bad.

Oh I know! Trust me. In some cases it's more like a mindflayer of their own, but my kids both love and hate my puns and sass. Today was especially good. Groans all around mean I'm doing my job well! ;)

I know, right!! And when the kids active with it too, the jokes just write themselves! All you have to do is start a conversation and the kids will give you more raw materiel in 10 minutes and you could have come up with in a week of trying!

Epic troll level.. I seriously just googled that to see if it was a real thing.. *facepalm* You got me, Milton. Good job.
| Venture Teller Play b'Post |
So... four plans-of-actions to proceed as I see it.
1. forge new contract, destroy the old (someone asked: the shop has the necessary raw materials)
II. find alt-imp, switch them out
Three. Grab the imp & return him
32/8. Some as yet un-discussed plan that players are great at exploring and Pathfinders at exploiting!
What say you?
Sai'Dothwyn
|
Actually it was grab the Contract and not the imp. Once you have the contract just compel the imp. Less of a fight.
EDIT: make a forgery of the contract and then give the forgery to Malini and swap out the real one(via slight of hand or some other subtlety skill). Force the imp to keep quiet about the switch through the power of the contract.
In fact, if we get the contract, just compel the imp to be honest about his feelings toward the mephit. I'm curious if they are genuine, as we are talking about an actual devil, and I know there are a few in the group that have reservations about breaking up the couple. If the imp is manipulating the mephit perhaps honesty will make her lose interest and there will be a quiet resolution after all.

Well, I'm just torn really. If there are no loopholes to be exploited, my character would rather grab the contract and/or imp and be done (Lawful Neutral). However, the player wants to find a way to mess with Qalqami, because how often do we get to be the ones screwing with NPCs of the RAW vs RAI of a contract.
Sai'Dothwyn
|
The only reason I suggested more than a straight grab is that we want to make it so Malini isn't invested in keeping the imp and therefore making a big deal for Qalkami resulting in her viewing our completion of the task as a failure.
If it was a straight grab from the outset it would have been fine but now that we made ourselves known it's harder to keep it on the down low. Tough pickle either way lol.

I really don't know where we go from here. I would like to get input from our contact at the embassy. She seemed to be knowledgeable and pretty free with the whole "screw with them as much as you can" advice. Other than that, despite Awens issues with devil-kind, Malini's story grabbed him, and he would oppose breaking the couple up. In Awens opinion, grabbing the contract and handing it over to Qalkami would be the same as stuffing the imp in a bag and delivering that to her.
As a player, I wholeheartedly concur with you, Fendel! How often do situations like this come up? Not very in my experience. Getting around the developers game is a very rare experience.
In the interest of expediency though, I will go with the group majority vote.
See Milton? THAT is how teamwork works!!! LMAO!!
Adeah Silversong
|
I vote 1. Adeah would much rather keep the couple together, and doesn't have the slightest regard for contract law-- that leaves 1 or II. Getting another mephit might satisfy Qalkami until we leave, but it seems unlikely that said mephit would do her bidding very long, meaning she'll probably find out quickly. So I think forging a new contract is our best bet.

Tough call when as a player I want to go the fun "screw over the bad guy we are forced to work with" way but I'm sure my character would go another. So the character wins here.
Sai has given a dispassionate argument for her proposed plan as an alternative that she believes is in everyone's best interest. Ultimately, she will go with whatever plan the majority decides on with the exception of the substitution imp idea as she thinks that has too many holes to list here. Her main focus is on the successful completion of the overall task, and she cares not a bit about Qalkami, other than as a useful contact for the society regarding their explained reasons.
As a player, I'm sure we will get into some sort of fun/trouble with 1 because it was the imp's suggestion. I know that is going to bite us in the end somehow, lol. So if we decide for 1, Sai will reluctantly go along, siting logical reasons why it is dangerous but possible...but then she will rationalize that perhaps it is time for that to happen according to Nethys. Once we commit to a plan she will be methodical about how it's done. So for the record she votes her own idea, which is basically option 3 with a twist, but as I said at the beginning, if the majority of the group is set on a plan she will go along, if for no other reason than to keep them safe and successful.
So far:
2 clear votes for option 1
Sai votes for her own idea, a variant of option 3. Willing to go with majority.
Fendel option 3 or (his suggestion) option 2. I think he leans to 3.
Milton seemed to want option 3 in play.
Awen willing to go with majority, but is leaning to whatever keeps them together(that seems like 1)
...so if Awen makes it official and Milton casts his vote we can move on.

I definitely vote for #3, or it's compatriot of stealing the contract, and letting things sort out from there.
I can provide more than an hour of invisibility to a rogue type. Should be plenty of time to get in and find it and get out.
Milton is an Asmodean, and a barrister. At LN, he's the guy that enforces contracts like these, not the guy who forges false ones.
If you go those other routes, you'd better Flint Fireforge me.

... I would like to get input from our contact at the embassy. She seemed to be knowledgeable and pretty free with the whole "screw with them as much as you can" advice.
Yasmine is acquainted with Malini, the mephit from whom the Pathfinders are to steal the imp Vassago, and she is a little surprised to hear that Malini had a pact with someone like Qalkami. She cautions you that there must be more to this than Qalkami is telling, and urges them to speak with Malini about it.
Two for forging contract (1),
Three for grabbing the imp (3)
One undeclared
