Game Master Deussu

Ozren growls and gurgles as he raises his right hand. Drawing upon his strange and mysterious powers, he coats the hand with a glowing white frost. He angrily thrusts his hand at the mite attacking Lort, attempting to send damaging frost into the pest!

Ozren will attempt a touch attack with one use of his Wintery Touch ability.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Edgar's strike easily hits the mite, creating a large wound that instantly drops the poor creature to the floor. Only the derro remains, though its eyes are more manic than one would imagine.

Ozren's target is missing, redo turn?

As Ozren prepares to strike the mite, he holds as the big half orc cuts it down. He then refocus his energy and re-directs his power to Lort. He mutters something that may be a blessing 20 leagues under the sea.

Seeing as the mite has been struck down, Ozren will instead cast guidance on Lort.

Just as well Edgar can't see your turn description (or even if he could, it'd be in Aquan). Not sure he'd appreciate being called a "big half orc". ;-) Thanks for the guidance.

Looks like this battle is over soon...

Walking forward calmly (J5), Khalos casts Resistance and touches Zatoma.

"Better be safe though..."

Lort begins drawing crude sketches on the ground. He yawns sleepily and waves at the derro almost politely, "Hello?"

Hmph. Lort continues sketching with his greatsword, blunting the tip slightly.

Perhaps breaking the edge caused in at least in part by the after affect of the constant drinking, Gunari giggles a little at Lort's sketching, and he turns back to the derro, looks at his rapier, and raises an eyebrow.

The derro cackles, and seems to take another form. The derro twists and grows taller, soon taking the shape of a female elf with wild, black hair. The eerie, siniter laughter of the elf echoes throughout the hall.

Unacustomed to such a shriek, Ozren begins to hesitate against the otherworldly elf. Ozren is shaken.

Following the laughter, the elf takes her unholy symbol - which most recognize to be one of Lamashtu - and spreads negative energy all around her. Also, it is as if the unholy powers affect her differently, as another elf appears just beside her.

Edgar and Lort take 3 damage; Zatoma, Gunari, and Ozren take 6 damage.

Behind the pathfinder Torvic peeks around the corner, obviously too terrified to come any closer.

Zatoma rushes up right next to the derro-turned-elf and springs up to bite at its neck.

Ah... a flesh thingy now. She should taste much better.

Hey there, sorry to slow things down, but I'm not quite clear on a few things. Did the channel negative energy make another actual elf appear? Do we believe that a second elf appeared because of the channel or that it wasn't actually a channel and something else instead? Or did she channel and then cast a summon or illusion? Also, does the second elf look exactly the same as the first one that somehow magically transformed out of a derro?

Also, I know your busy, but an update of the tactical map would really help at this point.

Since it is Lort's turn, to try not to bog things down, I'll make some assumptions and actions.

First up, I'll try to disbelieve the illusion. Which illusion? Take your pic. That she's really an elf. That another elf has appeared. "Seriously, what the hell," is essentially what is running through Lort's head right now.

Will save to disbelieve illusions: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Second, Lort will try as hard as possible to flank with someone against the elf who once was derro. He'll even take an AOO if he needs to. Moving to L3, M3 then N4 seems the best way to do that. Not sure where the illusion / second elf appeared. If Lort fails the above roll, or if the second elf is real... and if the second elf is in the square N4 or otherwise blocking Lort, this attack is for her (or him) instead.

Power attack, guidance (assuming no flank, but please add it if I have it): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Damage if successful: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 3) + 9 = 13

Hope that doesn't slow things down.

Wow, what a will save. I guess Lort whole-heartedly believes what this player assumes to be an illusion then. No change to the above. Again, if the second elf is blocking the first one, then that attack should be for them.

Good point if she was casting, or using a Spell-Like Ability, Gunari was next to her, with weapon drawn, and should have gotten an attack of opportunity. I will roll, just in case.

AoP: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 for: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Derro (or now elf) used a standard action to channel negative energy, and has the trickery domain called copy cat. And yes, I forgot about it being a Sp. Nevertheless, Gunari's AOO doesn't hit it.

What about Lort's actions? And that tactical map update?

Zatoma's bite would hit the horrid elf, but instead bites into the illusory double. The elf cackles at the eidolon's feeble attempt to wound her.

As Lort dashes past the elf, it tries to with her rapier though it seems she's not very combat proficient. The strike goes miles off.

When Lort gets his chance it strikes hits true and the elf shrieks in agony. However the foe seemed to absorb some of the damage, and the wound begins to close.

Despite being wounded direly, the elf laughs sinisterily and shouts, the echo carrying a chilling, distant voice throughout the complex. "You will dream of me!"

Round 2 begins.

"Die, you evil b!!%!! In Cayden's Name, you shall fall!"

Ozren growls and gurgles, running toward the fray with a rime lined hand. He steps next to Gunari and brings his hand forcefully down on the enemy.

Ozren uses a move action to move to just north of Gunari's position and a standard action to expend one use of his frost touch class ability.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Gunari, Edgar, Ozren, Khalos, Elf, Zatoma, Lort

Gunari can only determine that she's an elf, mostly. There's something very unnatural about her, something nightmarish.

And despite Gunari's expert strike, it deflects off the elf, much to the befuddlement of the already drunk pathfinder.

Waiting for Edgar.

Edgar is clearly upset with this evil witch for causing harm to a fellow dwarf let alone trying to kill this party of new friends. He moves diagonally to M4 and strikes out at her.

Edgar's Attack w/ Temple Sword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Edgar's sword doesn't even touch the elf. The nightmarish figure appears to be much more evasive than one would imagine.

Because Edgar moved to the spot Ozren was going to move, Ozren instead moves to N4. No AOO, since the elf already used its AOO.

The mumbling oracle advances next to the elf also and slams with his frozen hand. His swipe goes past.

Deussu, I'm assuming that you want us all to go, based on your last post.

Seeing how Gunari's expert blow failed to hit, Lort calms his aggression somewhat in favor of accuracy when making his next blow.

Attack, no power attack, flank, bless: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 21
Damage if successful: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12

Lort will take a 5 ft step if necessary to get into a flanking position.

Khalos stands by (delay action) for an opening.

Ahh! Fake fleshy elf! I'll get you this time!

A hissing Zatoma turns and attacks the elf in front of him.

Bite Attk, with flank bonus: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19
Bite Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Tail Slap Attk, with flank bonus: 1d20 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 0 + 2 = 19
Tail Slap Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 6

The elf looks at all the delicious pathfinders that surround her, and merely lifts her unholy symbol, once again unleashing a wave of negative energy. Furthermore, another image of her appears besides her, imitating every move.

It also seems her wounds are rapidly disappearing, showing only a slight wound from Lort's previous attack.

Zatoma almost scratches the elf, but both the bite and the tail slap deflect from the foe in a peculiar fashion.

Lort, however, has much better luck. Surrounding the elf, he sees an opening as the elf concentrates more on her offensive cackling, and slashes a new, great wound. Still, the blade doesn't dig deep into the enemy's flesh, and she remains standing.

Round 3

Ozren winces as the dark energy again washes over him. His face becomes tightly furrowed and is clearly becoming enraged. He points at the elf and spits, sputters and clicks in a very loud menacing fashion. He raises both his hands high then thrusts his hands out ward, screaming in an echoing undecipherable fury as he unleashes his own innate magical energies at the enemy.

Ozren takes a standard action to cast Cause Fear (DC 15 WILL) at the elf woman.

Just to remind the order: Gunari, Edgar, Ozren, Khalos, Elf, Zatoma, Lort. Carry on.

Edgar, don't forget bless and we should probably start moving so that we can all flank with someone! At the moment it's just Lort and Zatoma.

Evidently the time for words has past, and it time for killing.

Khalos moves just behind Gunari and casts Resistance on him as well.

I hate using my sickle, but I suppose it cannot be helped.

Gunari hits the elf with his rapier and manages to make a nice open wound, despite the blade bending awkwardly due to her tough skin. But alas, it was the false duplicate! The elf laughs, again. "You will dream of me!" she cackles.

Thanks to Gunari's drunk bless, Edgar is able to strike true against the elf. Unfortunately the blade merely makes some cosmetics scratches.

Amazingly, Ozren's spell frightens the elf, who, in turn, looks at the oracle horrified.

And Khalos grants Gunari the gift of Resistance.

The elf, again heals itself, wounds closing. But unlike last time, she makes a dash to safety, provoking attacks of opportuniy from Gunari. The suprising move makes the drunk pathfinder almost fumble, and the elf moves far from the group... by flight! Suddenly the elf just starts to glide upwards, ten feet above the floor, just outside of everyone's weapons' reach.

So yeah. The map's updated, and do note the elf is now 10 feet above the ground. Next up: Zatoma, Lort.

"She's getting away! Get her quickly!"

Zatoma slithers forward and tries to take a bit at her again. Move to Q6.

Withdraw action. Doesn't provoke from the square she leaves. Counts as a full-round action, so she did nothing else but escape.

So she didn't cast fly but actually has a fly speed? Does she have wings that we didn't see before or is she floating?

Does Zatoma have reach?

Gunari contemplates using his short bow... something he is trained in, but not very good with. 'I'd have to shoot for the elf in the middle... right? Oh, Sweet Barleybrew, this is a fine mess we're in!'

She has no wings or other apparent ways of flying. She does, however, fly, albeit slowly. Think of it as a ghostly floating.

Freaky! Would it be out of order for me to ask everyone to make their knowledge checks to see what on earth this elf-like creature is? Lort has no knowledge skills at all. In game...

Lort's eyes grow wide as the elf floats through the air. "Does anyone know what kind of creature looks like an elf and can do that?"

Also, is Lort + arms + greatsword tall and long enough to attack her from the ground? Otherwise, he is equipped with 3 spears (when hurled: +3, 1d8+5/×3) for when you do the "big takeover".

Still screaming undecipherable gurgles and clicks, Ozren fixes the now floating elf with a pointedly enraged stare. He slowly draws his sling and fires a bullet at the floating witch.

Ozren uses a move action to draw his sling and a standard action to fire a bullet at the elf.

sling attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Zatoma is able to hit her, but the bite does nothing.

Ozren's shot goes wide and reflects from the elf.

I was waiting for a response to this before posting my round 3 action. Also, I thought you were going to bot us to speed things up...

Khalos pulls back his left arm as he casts a spell, a glowing green orb appearing from nowhere. He hurls this orb at the elf floating above them all.

Looks like everyone's posting anyway. For his round 3 action (prior to the above actions), Lort will run up and attempt to grapple her (essentially, he'll leap up and grab her leg to pull her down).
