DMK - did the fire mephit make any aggressive overtures?

Elindriel skirts the design on the floor as well, imbuing her blade, rushing the mephit, and swinging her falcata at it.

Move action: As indicated on map
Standard action: Attack mephit
Attack (+1 Keen Adamantine Falcata, Power Attack): 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 11 - 2 = 24 (+2 for Good Hope, if it's active)

The fire mephitic disappears, it's summoning bond broken by the demise of the efreeti. The tyrant lies on the floor, the life quickly seeping out of it.

Lanarial warns the rest of the party about the traps in the floor. (Assume you can disarm them if you take twenty)

Outside, revolution is still raging on...

I'll post a full aftermath when I have the time. For now, revel in liberating some familiar faces, and bringing the councillor Glaheri up to speed. I'll post chronicles later, and report the game once I have the frakking link :S

Blackjack considers the Efreeti's fate, and is torn for a moment about the people missing out on the opportunity to pass righteous judgment on their oppressor and the Final Blades of his native homeland, Bloody Jaine, Razor Jenni, or even the famous Madame Margaery - then simply elects to let Pharasma work it out, putting in one final telling blow to avoid the creature suffering a protracted death.

Silver Crusade

Silver Crusader Ennoia | Female Aasimar (Muse-touched) Paladin (Divine Hunter) 2 / Fighter (Weapon Master) 9 | HP 90/90 | AC:23 (+2 vs longbows) T:16 FF:17 CMD: 30 | F+16 R+16 W+12 (+2 Mind-Aff. vs. Evil Outsiders; +2 vs. [evil] descriptor)| Init +10 | Perc +0 | SM +4

Ennoia considers the efreeti's fate for a moment, then lays her hand on her with a soothing, merciful touch.

"We need to let the people of Crystalcrag decide of her fate. She's beaten, but it's not up to us to make that decision."

When the efreeti is conscious, the aasimar draws her bow, ready to shoot at Tygora is she tries to attack or escape.

"You are beaten, Tygora. Your rule of terror is over. However, you may yet deserve a fair trial."

Blackjack pulls his pending final strike, seeing that Ennoia has taken a more merciful path "Are you so sure you wish to unbottle the Genii once more?"

"The citizens just need to be very careful, for such a creature can offer them so many temptations and the wishes it can grant may be the root of corruption. I fear that there will be no fair trial, only the satiation of a lynch mob, and with that we will see the errors of Galt repeat - rather than the golden example of Andoran."

"Be careful that your kindness doesn't end with a bloodier set of consequences, for four decades we have known nothing but mass executions at the hands of fair trials"

Just wrapping up, where it goes nobody knows, but Blackjack isn't going to argue the politics with a Paladin of the Shining Crusade - he knows his path is more 'flexible' than theirs :P My only concern is that the thing has a pile of tricks to get free of its currnt predicament :p

I am bested. Tygora says as she sees the tip on arrow pointed at her, while she clings on to dear life. One shot of that bow can kill me, yet I still long for this worlds.

Know that I only did the oread's bidding when they wished for a place where they could be safe and shielded from the outside world. They would have no outside influence, little did they know that the freedom requires vigilance. Tyrant they called, yet did they fare worse than they would have without my protection?

Let us see! You would slay me, or capture me and fetter me. Which way matters not, but think of what good it does for the oreads? Their city is on fire, the destruction immense. Their safety shattered! Would not... she pauses for moment ... would not they be better of if they had the means to rebuild their home, any way they see fit?

I am an Efreeti, I have the capability to grant wishes to whom I would so please. If you pledge to my freedom, I would grant you three. I will leave this place, and grant you three wishes, to fill in as it suit you, in return for my freedom.

The battle having moved quickly, Ceobryrn can only hold his bow deadly to shot the tyrant if she tries something. At the offer of three wishes the ranger comments "tempting, but it would be out of the question unless you promise to leave the Oreads here alone."

Of course I would leave this town - what business do I have left here, now that my rule has been compromised to such an extent?

Silver Crusade

Silver Crusader Ennoia | Female Aasimar (Muse-touched) Paladin (Divine Hunter) 2 / Fighter (Weapon Master) 9 | HP 90/90 | AC:23 (+2 vs longbows) T:16 FF:17 CMD: 30 | F+16 R+16 W+12 (+2 Mind-Aff. vs. Evil Outsiders; +2 vs. [evil] descriptor)| Init +10 | Perc +0 | SM +4

Ennoia whispers to her companions. "I don't see how letting her go is a good thing. That being said, using the wishes to secure a better future for the oreads could be considered as rightful amends, provided she doesn't twist our words like she probably did for the oreads. I do not know what path to take. Justice would dictate that we have a fair trial, though a greater good and stability could come of her wishes. "

"Hard to have a fair trial when you don't have a fair set of laws, and to that end we may just as well have let her bleed out on the floor because it would have had the same ending - her dead and them no better off, perhaps they'd be worse off in a way. Let the Oreads have their reparations and be given compensation, let them have their new town, as they see fit."

"The Oreads will be getting assistance to rebuild their society through the benevolence of the Steel Falcons of Andoran, make no mistake, I shall ensure that there is a steady stream of my people through here whilst we help them establish themselves - they shall be a new shining light, another community operating under the basis of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité"

OK let's go the wish route then

Silver Crusade

I'll let you choose the wording of the wishes, then. With Wis 11 and Int 7, Ennoia would certainly choose poorly, even with the best of intentions!

"That's a fair point, Jacques. Alright, let's do it her way, but remember that the wishes should serve the people of Crystalcrag, not our own personal interest."

"We all have a personal interest in seeing the emergence of a free and just society" Blackjack jests.

Do we all have to be specific GM, or assume the Oread Council can do their job and come up with their specific requirements?

Wow, you guys finished that fight off fast!

"I'm not so sure about this wishing business. Wishes are like laws; never been one yet that someone couldn't figure a loophole in." To Jaques, she asks "If we choose the wishes, aren't we just imposing our own will on these people? Is that freedom?"

Ceobryrn shrugs "I hear wishing is dangerous business. The Oreads are free to determine their own future. I suppose the wishes would be spoils of victory."

Ceobryrn votes for taking the wish deal.

Councillor Glaheri is glad to accept the wishes for repayment We'd love to see that this doesn't happen again, and that we can live our lives in safe seclusion from now on, just as we originally intended. We are worried, though, that Tygora may twist the wishes again for her own purposes.

He's definitely looking to the Pathfinders for guidance, hoping to ensure a wording that doesn't twist the design of the wish.

Ensuring a wish is not twisted requires a wisdom check. I'm at liberty to award bonuses for clever wording.

I'd like to see you try and word the wishes right. If there's no interest, however, I can also close the game and post the conclusion. Your call. Who wants a shot at it?

Grand Lodge

Ennoia won't take her chances, I think. It isn't like her to gamble with the destiny of good people like the oreads by making wishes that can destroy their lives just as easily.

LOL Just not sure how bad it could go - would hate to get cocky and then have it blow up with a nixxed check - I can have a go at some wordsmithing, but Jacques has a 10 Wis so its really going to be streaky :p He's no sage and scholar, he's a revolutionary man-of-action

Ceobryrn shrugs "If the wishes are for the town then they should have make the finale choice. I would suggest they wish: One, for the town buildings and infrastructure to be restored to it's condition as of yesterday. Two, All injured Oreads should be healed. Three, The illusion that has protected the town should remain in place. Basically keep it simple, and don't get greedy."

Wisdom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Wisdom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Wisdom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

With careful wording, Ceobryrn puts forward the wishes. The efreeti stands up, and says Your wishes have been granted!, and then, just as that, vanishes from view.

News of Tygora’s defeat spreads quickly through Crystalcrag, and the oreads respond with a mix of disbelief, relief, and confusion about what the future holds. Eurdan Stonemantle does his best to organize and encourage the newly liberated geniekin, and with the help of Glaheri he is quite effective at leading them.

Although the oreads have always regarded the ifrits as kin, the defeat of Tygora - and a slight twist Tygora has apparently put in one of the wishes, leaving ifrits unaffected by the healing benefits of the wish - causes a lot of discontent in the ifrit community, resulting in a mass exodus.

In all, the effect of the wishes seems to have been beneficial. The protection to the town remains in place. The infrastructure has been restored and the buildings repaired, though the keep at the to of the city - a symbol of the tyranny of Tygora, and something the oreads would like to break down - resists every attempt at destruction. In fact, the keep seem to be completely frozen in place, door unable to be moved, window blinds remaining shut, a silent monument to itself.

Congratulations: you have secured two out three uncorrupted wishes, which means I'll have to adjust the chronicles. Bear with me...
