Joliryn "Joy" The Artist |

AFTER Rataji deals with the explosive runes.
If the runes are still active, Joliryn tries to pull the dragon back from opening the door. If he still goes through, Joliryn will jump off the dragon and run around the nearest corner first.

DM Kludde |

Dragon (link) <-- Can you see this one?
Teh explosive runes are still active, but they seems to invisible from Jo's current position. The detect magic spell indicates they are lodged in that mail slot. The door itself is closed, and locked.
Do you want to try something fancy, or shall I just assume you spend several turns breaking it down?

Joliryn "Joy" The Artist |

I always take the "try something fancy" option when I can. ;) So the runes are specifically on the mail slot, you say?
Joliryn raises a finger to her lip and signals everyone to move at least 15ft away from the door. Then, as quietly as she can, she begins casting acid splash again and again at the mail slot.
"Hey Ratty, do me a solid and keep concentrating your detect magic spell on those runes until they disappear, yeah?"
Once the runes are gone (or explode, in which case the group is out of range), she will give the group a thumbs-up.

DM Kludde |

Already after the first blast of acid, the aura that corresponds to the explosive runes fades away. Joliryn gives the thumbs up, but the door is still locked.

Joliryn "Joy" The Artist |

Joliryn will back off to maximum range to keep it as quiet as possible, and do the same acid-splash routine with the door hinges, and then the lock.

DM Kludde |

It takes a good fifteen minutes, but the door finally gives way, revealing a library.
This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. A strange armillary pulses with energy from atop the pedestal. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curiosities and curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in
sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock on the eastern wall
ticks each passing second.
At the far end of the room, Aram Zey has a sneering smile on his face. Ah, ever so civil, Joliryn. Burning the hinges? I've come to expect this kind of incompetence from you. And what is you plan now? Kill me?

Before they push the unhinged door down, Joliryn would have cast on herself expeditious retreat, bear's endurance and shield.
"Oh, you know, Zey. I like to make a statement, and in this case, it was a homage to how... unhinged... you are," Joliryn replies with a mock smile and an exaggerated curtsy.
"Hmm... my notes said that he had a scroll with a powerful illusion. If he knew we were coming, it means he would have already cast it. Something more powerful than an improved invisibility spell..."
She looks around the room, wary of what the illusion could be. Despite her apparent flightiness and borderline insanity, the halfling was no fool.
"He's unafraid to draw attention to himself. Perhaps..."
"Gazwyr, I need you to fly around the room really quickly, and see if your blindsense picks up something, anything, that cannot be seen with normal eyes."
If the dragon complies, Joliryn will use 1 point of her eldritch focus to gain spider climb for 2 rounds, and using her increased speed, run up the wall to the second-floor balcony. She will then ready an action to cast glitterdust as soon as Gazwyr indicates an area. Interestingly, the range of Gazwyr's blindsense is exactly the width of the room, So Gazwyr would just need to fly straight into the room to 'scan' it with his blindsense.
Also suggesting Marnarius and Rataji delay till after Joliryn and Gazwyr.

Marnarius' first impulse is to run forward and cut the man in half. He draws his new sword, eager to see what it does. Before he charges, he looks to joy and notices her caution.
If the crazy, impulsive, and maniacal girl is wary, better to stay calm for a while.
He whispers to her.
"Just give me a sign..."

Gazwyr makes a pass through the library, and immediately notices something lurking on the balcony behind him. He turns around, exhales and rains down his acid, only to hear it returned by a scream.

"Should I take this display to be indication of your multiple-personality disorder?"

DM Kludde |

Marnarius will have to walk into the room first, so he doesn't get a full attack.
Marnarius rushes into the room and aims for the wizard. His arrow flies in, but isdeflected by something unseen at the last moment. Still, he manges to hit one of the illusory doubles, which pops out of existence.

Will wait for Rataji's action to be resolved before deciding what Joliryn does.

"Wheeeeeeeeeeee!" Joliryn squeals with glee as the dragon and her whiz through the air towards Zey's many bodies.

Joliryn smiles sweetly when she sees that they have located the real Zey. She begins to chant a strange rap, somehow weaving it into an incantation for a spell as she simultaneously slashes at Zey. Being able to do all of that at once is either a sign of prodigious talent, a fractured and unhinged mind, or both.
"You're Aram Zey yes you're the real Aram,
All those other Aram Zeys are just imitating,
So wont' the real Aram Zey please bleed out,

DM Kludde |

Now that the wizard is longer protected by his figments, Gazwyr sees his chance to knock out the spellcaster. He is too eager, though, and only two claws manage to hit the stony layer that protects Zey.
Joliryn, manages to eke out a force punch spell, throwing back the wizard with tremendous force. The lanky spellcaster lands like a rag doll, and remains motionless on the floor...
Combat over!

Joliryn "Joy" The Artist |

Wait what really? That was it?
Joliryn pokes the motionless wizard with her kukri a few more times in obvious disappointment. "Aww....it's broken," she complains with a pout.
Then suddenly she grins and cheerfully proclaims in a sing-song voice, "LOOT TIME!"
What does he have gear-wise? Also...I'm guessing Rataji has something he needs to do at this point in time? Also scanning the room with detect magic for funsies.

DM Kludde |

Getting a 75 hp crit does that to wizards
Joliryn bows down to loot the wizard as she behold a wispy smoke rising from the body - it is the soul of the deceased wizard, being torn away from the body and sucked into the lantern on 322's side, when it coalesces and light a flame - captured.

Been ages since we heard from him. GM do you want to bot him and tell us what comes next?
And have him identify the things Joliryn fails to identify?

DM Kludde |

Headband of intelligence, ring of spell storing
Rataji makes it clear that the prime target here is the sky key: the glowing, buzzing item in the middle of the room. There's a velvet rope surrounding it, as well as a white circle that appears to be a ward of some sort, and a crystal cube.
This is the only part of the mission that is left: snatch the key and get out.

Joliryn "Joy" The Artist |

Jliryn puts on Zey's ring of spell storing, hoping that it contains a spell that will be useful in the extraction.
She also uses mage hand to try to scuff the white circle around the cube. If that all fails, she asks Marnarius and Gazwyr to throw Zey's corpse against the sky key and see what happens.

DM Kludde |

As Joliryn disrupts the circle, the buzzing of the sky key becomes louder. The artifact seems to locally disrupt time itself, with the flow of time speeding up and slowing down seemingly at random.
Despite all this, its fairly easy to grab the item from under the glass cube. Making their way out, a second team greet the agents with their bronze badges and says Well done team. It's five fingers until oath day, a passphrase that Rataji recognises.
Well done, team. You've killed the evil wizard and grabbed his most powerful artifact. Congratulations. I'll start reporting and creating chronicles - watch this spot!

DM Kludde |

With the havoc you've caused in the menagerie, that's not such a far-fetched assumption
I've created chronicle sheet. Let me know if everything is ok with them:
