I promised to play the rest of this thing with some friends already so unfortunatly I am out after this "level" :(
But I am not sure when each level of this dungeon is over in PFS.
Amir moves into the room ready to smash some heads. He attacks the hobgoblin on sight.
Move inside

Skaar waits until after Asuna casts her spell, saying "We might be able to put him to sleep, wait a second," to the others first.
Delay until after Asuna, tell everyone else to delay until after Asuna. Asuna needs to delay to after Bruce for him to open the door. Then she can sleep. I'll slumber if Bugbear passes the Will save for sleep. DC 14. Then the dinosaur can 5' in and CDG him.

DM Kludde |

Just after Bruce flings the door open, Asuna's sleep spell seems to have no effect. Skaarr immediately follows up with a slumber
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The bugbear becomes drowsy as he sees the group of armed and hostile adventurers approach, the dinosaurs first. He collapses and manages a final

as the dinosaur sinks his fangs into the throat of the bugbear.

The bugbear was carrying leather armour, a composite longbow, a morningstar, a ring (magical) and his pockets contain three garnets.

![]() |

Asuna approaches the dead bugbear and pets Kirito.
"Aww I almost feel sorry for the bugbear....not." She says with a grin and proceeds to clear out his pockets and takes the ring and garnets.
"Don't suppose someone could identify the ring for me?"

DM Kludde |

Skaarr looks at the ring, and finds it one fine specimen of a ring of feather falling.
In case you missed it: please make you day job rolls and state your PFS# in the discussion section.

Jalik Daweri |

"Over before it began. I didn't even see what happened. Love that dino."

DM Kludde |

Not done yet!

![]() |

"Well I think we got all the information out of him that we need. Hope he was just bluffing about the hordes of goblins, though the "cypher" should help. Shall we see if we can go down a level, or up first?" Asuna says trying to check out her new ring.

DM Kludde |

The chamber of Grulk pulses with the green glow of the column of glass-like crystal that forms the core of the tower. The walls of the room are damaged, and the roof is cracked. The spire in the center juts up, just peaking above the crude ceiling. There's a bed and a side table sit the northern half of the room, and archery targets line the southern section of wall.
There's an obvious secret passage that leads to... nothing but a sixty foot drop into the rubble below.
The cracks in the ceiling and the green glow of the central column give this chamber some respite from the ubiquitous darkness in the rest of the level.

![]() |

"Right so how are we getting down? Anyone have a 60 ft rope? I'm guessing Kirito needs the ring to get down safely. If there is anything useful down there at all. Maybe we should have kept old Grulky alive after all." Asuna ponders.

DM Kludde |

There's some goblin bodies down there. The rubble seems to be the roof of where you were before: the armoury thereabouts.

![]() |

ah nevermind then :P. So I guess we explored all areas on this level and should get ready to drop down to the next one? Or is there still a room unexplored?

Jalik Daweri |

" I am thinking we throw the dead bugbear below and act fierce beyond our years... Anyone"
Jalik looks around....

Jalik Daweri |

Jalik picks up the bugbear's body and hurls it down into the mobs of goblins below. He then yells in orcen to the mob below:
"We are your ruler, bow before us now or be as Grulky!"

![]() |

Bruce glances down the hole at the dead goblins on the lower level. "Why are you grunting and snarling at the goblins we killed earlier?"

![]() |

I think there is some confusion based around the text based medium. There aren't really any goblins here now (as far as I can tell). The bugbear just claimed to have them, but we already killed some of them (I think). There might be more goblins on the bottom level (down the spiral staircase), right?

DM Kludde |

The goblins below lie sprawled on the rubbled roof of the fortress - it looks more like they were thrown from the very spot the adventurers are standing than anything else. There is, at the moment, no sign of any living goblin.
So, to be precise: the party is standing in the single, large tower in the middle of the fortress, where a secret passage leads to outside (and might once have lead to something that now no longer exists). Looking down, you see the roof of the fortress, which are covered in rubble because of the destruction that has taken place long ago. Fresher than the rubble are the goblin (dead) bodies, that seem to have been thrown out of the opening the adventurers are looking through. Grulk was apparently using the opening to toss out goblins.
Though Jalik's ending would've been really cool too.

![]() |

Bruce takes a closer look down the tower opening. "My mistake it appears these may have been thrown down here by Grulk. Shall we see what lies beneath this tower?" Bruce leads the way back down and searches the stairs before heading down to the lower levels of the tower.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 +1 for traps

DM Kludde |

The stairs wind down again, and exit onto the fortress level. Moving to the other side of the central structure, Bruce looks for traps. While he doesn't find any, he does hear light kind of footsteps he heard so many time before, slightly further down the stairs.

![]() |

we know the cypher now :D

![]() |

Bruce looks back at the group. "So who is good at yelling and sounding like they mean it?" His gaze settles on Skarr.

DM Kludde |

The adventurers hesitate for a moment at the top of the stairs, as voices are heard from below
How much longer boss says we stay here? Those two give Raffy the creeps!
Shut it, Raffy, or me feed you to the big one.

![]() |

"New orders from Grulk! He says deal with wizard is over and new deal with longshanks. You help longshanks kill zombies and wizard or he smashes your faces in! And feeds you to other zombies as distractions!" Asuna yells in goblin with her best goblin voice.
do I still need a bluff if I have the cypher? ^^
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Kludde |

There's some hesitation from the goblins
[b]K-kill zombies? But zombies are chief's! Why help longshanks?!
Yes, I'll need a bluff check

"We should have Skarr yell 'If you don't do as I say, Grulk will crush your ugly face' at them since he seems the most intimidating."

![]() |

Thistle shuffles back and forth on his feet, waiting for his able companions as they speak with, whatever is in the darkness. His frustration at the lack of light has mostly subsided, as he has resigned to the fact there is very little he can do about it.
Maybe Sarenrea will bless me with the ability to cast light, though I'm not sure how much it will help in this unnatural darkness...

DM Kludde |

Boss is mad! We're out of here, we no fighting zombies! Us go home!
The party (except for Thistle) hears the sound of goblins ascending the stairs.

![]() |

Asuna says to her friends "The goblins are running off. Let them pass or take em down if you like. They pose no threat to us."
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Kludde |

Two goblins emerge from the stairs, and there's still a distinct low moan coming from below.
If you want to attack the goblins, you can have a surprise round. Otherwise, I'll just assume you let them pass.

![]() |

While the group decides what they want to do with the goblins, Bruce scouts ahead.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

DM Kludde |

A few steps down, its quite clear to Bruce that there are two separate moaning goblins. These must be the zombies that Grulk mentioned.

![]() |

Thistle prepares to strike as the goblins come racing up the stairs, but is perceptive enough to notice the group holds no hostility towards them, and the goblins show no sign of attacking. This does raise the question in his mind, What are they running from? and he hefts his weapon and shield in response.

Jalik Daweri |

As Jalik stands by in the group. He tries to peer through the darkness but still unable to see beyond his closest allies.
Jalik is slowing getting accustomed to Thistle and realizes his handicap. Jalik tries to motion to Thistle to hold tight as the goblins run by.

As Amir, with more accompanying noise than Bruce, clanks down the stairs, the moaning becomes louder. Two goblin zombies shuffle up, and advance menacingly toward the group of adventurers.

As it is still dark andd there is no space, Aduna can't do a thing. So delay for her and Kirito who wants to rush in when the first zombie goes down and bite the second one.

Thistle sees Jalik race down the stairs, and the demeanor of his companions change from allowing the goblins to pass. Pushing forward he smells the rot of the zombies, and knows exactly what to do.
