It's a loud peeping noise the dog makes, that becomes a yelp as Amir brings his blade down, then suddenly falls silent. Amir and Skaarr see the dog fall asleep

Jalik scoots along the wall until able to see the downed opponent then heads South. Hearing another nearby he prepares an attack on any approaching enemy.

Thistle moves down the wall, and follows the visual cues of his companions as they engage the new enemy. As soon as he sees the sleeping rat-dog around the corner, he moves around to clear space for his companions, then turns to put the ugly thing to sleep permenantly.
Can't do a coup de grace as it is a full round action. I will just do normal attack against a helpless opponent.
Attack v/Helpless: 1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 4 = 27 for Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The beefy goblin falls asleep, just as Thistle wakes up the sleeping dog, by cutting it. It yelps loudly, and makes squeaky noise of displeasure at Thistle.
Jalik stands at the ready, and is the first to notice more footsteps. A very similar yelping noise, and something next to it...

Asuna hears a snap, then a gurgling sound. Then the familiar sounds of Kirito tearing someone apart. It seems he caught the large goblin, and managed to rend it apart.
The goblin dog bites Kitiro, but a menacing glare from the dinosaur is enough put the dog off that thought.

Thistle moves forward until he sees a threat, and notices it asleep. Unsure if he should try to swing, in case he wakes it instead of kills it outright, he looks to Jalik as if to say, where are the rest of them?
Getting the nod from Jalik to keep moving, he steps over the sleeping goblin and sees the rat dog out of the gloom standing over its master, He steps quickly to the side so as not to kick and wake the goblin, and takes a swing at the ugly creature still awake.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 for Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Technically I walked through a threatened area, and I am probably pushing the boundries of what my character should be able to do being both pseudo-blind and deaf... Feel free to adjust my actions if you think I am pushing too far, no worries from me!

The little dinosaur proves that it is superior to the rat-like creature, by crunching it between its mighty jaws. Merck then steps up and crushes the throat of the sleeping gobbling, ending the snoring sound that's filling the hallway.
Combat over
The two commando's were each carrying mundane gear, and a potion each. Investigating the area, the party finds there's a barricade to the east.
The door is open to a little tower to the southwest - this is where the second troop came from - and Skaarr sees piles of rags and bones are piled up into nest-like beds, all around the room. This must be where the goblins kept their animals.

Jalik picks one of the potions up to try to distinguish its power.

It's quickly clear that the potions are indeed healing potions - Cure Moderate Wounds, even.
Bruce inspects the rubble-filled rooms south, as well as the big hall they came through. The south-east room leads to the original trail the adventurers were on - once outside, natural light takes over again, and the broad daylight takes some adjustment, coming from the gloomy interior. The southeast room has been barricaded on the east side - a single opening is just big enough for a goblin to fir through, but anything larger shouldn't try.
Other than that, the rooms reveal little - these were guard posts at most.
FYI: You haven't quite inspected that northwest room yet, and there's two passages to go to: the stairs up, and the stairs down. Guess which one will eventually lead to the lower level...

There's a dusty canvas screen in the northeast corner of the northwest tower, that covers the entrance to a cramped tunnel. Any truly long-shanked adventurer would have to squeeze through to enter.
There's a rope dangling just a few steps in, just barely visible.

Thistle taps bruce on the shoulder from behind and shows his board with the words, I will volunteer to inspect, or will gladly follow close behind
Thistle straps his shield to his back to make the squeeze easier to manage.

The tunnel eventually leads back to the room northwest of the tower, without revealing much more than rubble and debris in between.

Jalik following long the whole time in the rear watches Thistle make the motions to pull the rope.

A rumbling sound is heard by all but thistle as Jalik pulls the rope. The sharp smell of dust enters the tunnel from behind. Apparantly the rope triggered some kind of rockfall. Luckily, nobody was under it.

"Up we go? We have no idea how deep this thing is. I'd prefer to go up first since there can't be more than a couple of floors up there," Skaarr says, agreeing with Bruce's earlier suggestion. This is going surprisingly well so far. No one has died.
