Jalik Daweri |

Jalik still unable to see clearly moves into the room and stays along the wall readying an attack with his bardiche if anyone approaches.

![]() |

Bruce moves into the room next to Asuna with his long sword at the ready in case things don't go well with what he can only guess is diplomacy. Why are we trying to reason with these crazy goblins?

DM Kludde |

What? Work with Skizzertz? No way! Quick! Kill the longshanks before anyone knows!
Jalik, you may fire off your attack
Goblins suddenly appear in front of Bruce and Jalik, quick and nasty they swipe their swords, but way too wild.

"Sigh I tried. Kirito, Attack!"
Kirito walks in and bites the nearest gobbo.

At the same time Asuna throws a small goblet of acid on the same gobbie.

DM Kludde |

@M's: that was before we rolled init. It's a bit funny that. I've put you inside the room - you were just in time to see the goblins skit off in an easterly direction.

![]() |

Thistle moves forward in the same direction his party seems to be moving, eventually finding the door. He stumbles through the door, weapon and shield ready, however cannot seem to find an enemy to strike in the gloom.
He yells out loud, to no one specifically, How do we turn the blasted lights on in here?

Jalik Daweri |

Jalik strikes back as the goblin suddenly appears into his sight.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
"Blasted darkness be gone!"

If the goblin in front of him falls asleep.

If he stays awake Bruce will attack with his long sword.

Jalik Daweri |

Irritated by the ineffectiveness of his weapon he drops the Bardiche and explodes into a rage before striking at the goblin with his claws.
Drops the weapon, blood rage increases +4 STR/+4 CON, strikes with claws

DM Kludde |

Will: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Th egoblin resists Skaarr's slumber, only to be skull-cracked into indefinite sleep by Amir. In his rage, Jalik makes short work of the other goblin, clawing his way through the small creature.
Combat over, already
Having some time to investigate now, the party finds the room is filled with two tables and benches, that lie scattered around. This is the mess hall. Decaying food of an indescribable nature sits on the tables. At the southern end of the chamber, doors exit to the east and the west.
Still, there is ever this wretched darkness.

![]() |

Thistle hisses, We must find the source of this darkness. It's bad enough being deaf, but being blind on top of that is maddening.
He takes a deep breath to calm himself, then scribbles on his board, Anyone hurt? The gods can heal you, through me.

Jalik Daweri |

"All is well here my scaly friend I just need a moment to relax. However I agree with you we should get to the bottom of this unnatural darkness. Where should we start?"
Jalik looks over the goblin body below him then proceeds to move slowly in the dark toward sounds of his group.
"hmm I do have an idea, maybe we should try the stairs as the source is not likely to be in a common area. This kind of reminds me of caves in the Northlands"

![]() |

"If there is a item causing this darkness my bet is it will be at the back of the tower. Which means we need to head back east."

![]() |

Thistle does his best to read his companions lips in the darkness, but gathers from Jalik's body language that he is fine, for the moment.
Unsure exactly what Bruce has said, he simply nods, and moves to follow.

![]() |

"We would not be going up. There was a door leading east toward the back of the tower. I was going to check it while we were fighting the first group of goblins."

![]() |

"Agreed, this darkness is infuriating."

"You all should have been sired by orcs," Skaarr comments dryly. "I'd prefer to clear one whole level of this place before moving up or down into a new one. Other than that, I'm not particularly worried about which order we explore in," he continues. I guess I should volunteer to lead the way since I can see.
"If one of you well armored, warrior-types will accompany me, I can guide the group to the boor Bruce is speaking of."
Assuming everyone follows, I moved us on the map back into the other room. Someone should open the door. Dungeon crawls work best in PBP when someone is constantly moving the group from room to room. I've got no problem being that person.

Jalik Daweri |

Claws out and weapons put away Jalik speaks,
"I am ready when you are, open the door."

DM Kludde |

Bruce finds no trap on the door, and opens it. A plush, human-sized bed stands in this chamber, along with a table holding a bone scroll tube and jars filled with eyeballs, claws, and teeth. Various automaton parts lie scattered around. For once, there is no sound of goblin voices, nor the skittering of feet.

![]() |

Bruce will move into the room and grab the scroll case. He will then search the room using his keen senses and instinct.
take 20 to search: 20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ 20 + 6 + (1) = 27 burned 1 inspiration

![]() |

Thistle enters the room and searches for some sort of lever, or switch to end the infernal darkness. He works to control his frustration at not finding anything, and to help maintain control of his emotions, sets to looking intently for some form of secret door. He grabs candelabras, shelves, moves jars, anything that might be some form of door switch in his search.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

DM Kludde |

The scroll case contains an intricate drawing of an arcane symbol, drawn in iridescent green ink.
This sigil is an identifying mark, similar to an arcane mark. In Azlanti, it reads the number '6'.
Thistle seeks, but does not find.

DM Kludde |

Beneath the bed, Bruce finds something of a diary. Goblin don't write, they think words bring bad luck. This diary contains pictures. The last few pages: a burly hobgoblin shouting at a goblin carrying a holy (unholy?) symbol. A picture of the holy symbol, a three-eyed jackal. The goblin with the holy symbol in this room. The goblin with the holy symbol tinkering with something with a robot - one arm is replaced in the picture. Then the burly goblin, who seems unaware.
What a strange picture-book.

Jalik Daweri |

"If the book is right we are in for a little scuffle. You ready."

DM Kludde |

Amir opens the door and... again, there are no goblins in this room.
Rubble and sharpened sticks barricade the western entrance to this curved room, and a thin wall runs down the room’s middle. Ashort passageway leads north.. Doors are set in the eastern wall of the room and both walls of the passageway

Jalik Daweri |

Jalik enters claws ready to the nearest wall and waits to move behind the nearest light source to keep his vision, as short as it may be. Trying to remember were they had traveled but disoriented by the darkness Jalik responds,
"Bah, one continous room after another. What madness this place creates?
Jalik obviously now irritated waits for the next enemy to pop up.

Jalik Daweri |

I believe as a draconic bloodline my claws are permanent. I am not raging.
Look at the ACG, the wording for the Claws (Su) draconic bloodline power at the top of page 20 just says "At 1st level, you grow claws." and then goes on to describe the claws' mechanics as weapons. In stark contrast, the abyssal Claws (Su) bloodline power says "At 1st level, you grow claws while bloodraging."
Additionally if using hero labs... under special abilties it specifically identifys claws as raging for the abyssal bloodline but not for the draconic bloodline.
My understanding thus is, it is permanent.

![]() |

Go back to the first paragraph under bloodlines for the Bloodrager. It states that unless the ability states otherwise bloodline powers only manifest during rage.

Jalik Daweri |

Good find. Agreed... thanks for the assitance in understanding.

DM Kludde |

Bruce doesn't find any traps. He does notice some activity on the other side of the barrier. Footsteps that are slightly heavier, and a lighter tapping of feet, probably a smaller animal.

![]() |

Bruce pulls out a piece of chalk and writes, "something is in there" on the wall.
@Jalik: I only found it as I was tinkering with the Dragon Disciple build. Hope I didn't come off as knit picky.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

Thistle smiles as his companions communicate in his preferred mode. He grabs his own chalk and board, writing, I'm right behind you As they make their way to the northern corridor.
Edit: I took the liberty of moving the party to the next door we discussed

Jalik Daweri |

Jalik now wielding his bardiche again heads in behind Thistle.

DM Kludde |

The door is clear of traps, and when opened reveals another staircase like the previous one, wound around a glowing wall of semi-translucent stone. This one, however, winds down rather than up.
The party hears two chairs move, and then goblin voices
Let's make round before boss catches us not make round. And smack us on head. A voice says.
Yes, and shout a lot
followed by footstep headed your way.
