Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
Frustrated with his and the rest of his party's inability to damage this fire creature he lets out a kiai in an attempt to demoralize it.
Intimidate to demoralize: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
GM Aerondor |
Sorry, messed up the post formatting before, but easy enough to fix.
fire attack on sam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
The fire roars forward, but Sam leaps aside.
Karnak loads his crossbow, while Durgan tries to blow it out. His mighty yell almost stuns the creature!
Finn again tries to attack, but his blow passes through the semi-insubstantial form.
Status, bolt may post:

glaive damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
(Or even attack effectively)
Samildanach The Dread |
Swaying out of the way from the burning creatures fiery fists, Samildanach notes that his allies are having a tough time of making contact with the elemental. Taking a step back, the Cleric calls upon his deity's divine aid to bless his allies attacks.
"Gozreh! Aid us in casting down our fiery foe!"
5' step back, though can't move my token. Then cast bless, giving everyone +1 to attack and fear saves
GM Aerondor |
Samildanach blesses the group, which looks like it could do with the help as Omrijka's swing is way wide of the mark.
Hugo steps into the gap left by Sam and attacks
attack,flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

He then tries to hit the bonfire again.
attack,flank,bless: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 12
But his own swipe is off the mark.
The flame turns on..

Finn takes a couple of swipes at the fire creature...
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
...but fumbles them badly.
Omrijka |
Omrijka admonishes Tiddles as she tries to bring her glaive down through it. "If you are not gonna to play nice someone is gonna get hurt"
glaive attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
glaive damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
"So SIMMER DOWN"
Samildanach The Dread |
Feeling his own wounds and watching Hugo at danger of burning up, Samildanach holds aloft his deities simple holy symbol and beseeches the King of Storms to soother the injuries of his companions.
Channel positive to heal, Selectively avoiding the elemental heal: 1d6 ⇒ 2
GM Aerondor |
Between the weapons of the valiant pathfinder team, the bonfire is ...extinguished.
You are able to advance into the study and see what it was guarding.
Several desks are arranged along the northern and eastern edges of this small stone alcove. Whereas the stonework leading to this chamber is rough, the walls in the alcove are polished. A single gem rests among the neatly filed papers on the desk, emitting a soft luminescence that brightens the small room.
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
Durgan whistles as he hefts the glowing gem.
Appraise w/greed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
"I'll bet this is worth a pretty copper!"
GM Aerondor |
The gem is quite valuable, over 500gp for sure. And all the more so because of the brilliant light that comes from it - like a flame trapped within the crystal.
A quick look through the paperwork shows a priceless collection of Pathfinder lore. The language however is unknown...
Someone else will surely need to help with the deciphering of this.
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
"Let's gather this up and take it back to the Grand Lodge. Unless one of you can read it?"
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
Durgan looks at Samildanach as they are looking through the papers. "You know, you aren't such a bad sort for a half orc."
GM Aerondor |
Gathering up the trove, the group heads back out. That undercroft looks the ideal place for an ambush... but although ready for one, none happens.
Outside, the party emerges as the sun breaks through the clouds just as it looks like setting. From their vantage the group has a hard time seeing, but a hush falls over the massed crowd.
The sound of a horses hooves are heard, getting faster and faster.. A knight on his white charger flashes into view. From the very edge of the pit surrounding the cathedral it leaps into the air...
Through the air it flies.
Make sure you look at that picture before clicking on the spoiler
You didn't click on the picture first, did you?
The valiant charger arcs through the air, Sir Reinhart on his back...
Still havn't looked at the image have you?
The pennant of Sir Reinhard flutters bravely. All the eyes of the crowd, many thousand in number are on the horse. For a moment it seems suspended in the air, almost as if there were an invisible path under its hooves.
But alas it is not to be. The brave horse and his foolish rider plummet into the pit surrounding the cathedral.
No need to click on the next spoiler
Samildanach The Dread |
Ha! I love it!
Samildanach shrugs as he looks at the document, unable to decipher the script on the pages. He looks to Durgan as he speaks and gives out a short barking laugh, clapping the Dwarf on the shoulder.
"Aye, yer not all that bad yerself...For a dwarf mind. I cannae read this neither, so best we just lug it back to the bookworms to see if they can make head or tail out of it."
He takes up a sizable pile of nnotes and makes his way fro the hidden chamber with the others, joining the crowd outside in the rain, he waits to see the fateful hopefuls last charge into greatness. Holding his breath as the majestic beasts starts to soar, knightly pennants fluttering, the Half orc sighs as both rider and mount plummet to their death.
"Poor Beast, fool of a rider may their gods take them to their halls"
He mutters as he turns away from the scene and towards the Grand Lodge.
GM Aerondor |
You turn the documents over to the society.
For several weeks you hear nothing, but eventually you get a note back.
