Still more portals continue to open and three more large dogs bound through them.

Sorry - late night meeting. Home now.
Lasaraleen uses her readied spell to suppress the fear on Gadget.
Glad you could stay with us, Gadget. We need you here!
We are almost done with these dreadful hounds. I hope.
Lasaraleen is about out of everything, so she will hold her spells for the last combat.

In the interest of not being too rude or destructive, she has a fireball remaining, but would not use if it is going to kill civilians in the area
Liminy, Radagast. What are these awful creatures? They look different than those last ones. Should I blast them? Are all the citizens away?

"If you can get them all, do so, before they have a chance to spread out." Jayori responds. "Everyone don't stray too far."

Gadget catches the purple one with an arrow, but it doesn't quite go down. Seiran stands ready. Charging forward, one of the large dogs is distracted by the grease and skids around, trying to get a grip on the ground.
As it charges in, Jayori cuts the green dog in half with his hefty blow, while the ready Sirian does the same to the badly wounded purple dog.
Radagast and fluffy, knowing of the grease move up and finish off the last of the hounds.
And suddenly all is quiet.
Okay, so that was a rush, and the dogs used very poor tactics, but with only a few hours left to run I wanted to give you the best chance possible of finishing up here. Well done everyone. There will be an overseer post in a few hours.

In the meanwhile... Liminy we need to see how you want to deal with your Devil Chills? Can you give me a set of fort saves please.
Jayori Bissumbhur
|
Can a summoned creature leave something behind (even a disease) once it becomes unsummoned?
Devil chills is strength damage, so not a big deal =) Though I suppose he might end up paralyzed for a few days.
"Well done." Jayori exclaims. "Irori himself would approve."
"Let us return the key to the Cathedral, before more portals begin to open." He adds, with a frown. "This was a concerted attack, not just a theft."
Liminy Spickett

"Well, This key. I would like to examine it before we hand it over. It may be a fake. And if it is real... Well this may be my only chance to learn more about it."
Liminy uses Detect Magic and carefully examines the key.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Liminy has the season 5 player boon #13 Personal Physician boon. Auto succeeds at a heal check of 20 to help with the disease so Liminy gets +4 to his fort saves.
fort save: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 4 = 14
fort save: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 4 = 25
fort save: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 4 = 18
fort save: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 4 = 26
If I remember correctly I think even the 2 makes it.

Devil chills takes three consecutive saves :-( But it looks like he squeaked in there. Nice fort bonus! You get two from class, two from con, two from cloak, and the last +2 from the rat.
Lasaraleen

"Strong work, team!!! "
Lasaraleen cheers as the dogs drop.
"I could help cure diseases tomorrow but today I am all but spent ."

The key is magical. All around portals continue to open. Teams of pathfinders find themselves heavily beset. Elsewhere you can see other duplicate assassins cornered and attacked, and still more portals opening. Surely the city can't survive much of this...
Lasaraleen
|
Looking around at the chaos in the city, Lasaraleen exclaims
This key is cursed! Why? Why now? Who is behind all of this dreadful business?
Seiran Leogil

"We get the key back where it can be better protected. With those portals opening, we're sitting ducks out here."

***OVERSEER POST***
A fanfare of trumpets blasts loudly, breaking through the roar of the combat and ringing of clashing blades. Leading a mounted battalion of armored warriors, Sheila Heidmarch and her husband charge through the streets, driving through the waves of summoned fiends and forcing them to retreat back through their gates to the netherworlds from which they were called. In a matter of minutes, their assault is complete and the streets fall quiet.
Sheila Heidmarch strides over to Prisim – ”You have the REAL Runecarved Key” then holds it aloft signifying a Pathfinder victory!
“Today, every one of you has contributed to a triumphant victory for our Society, and you have cemented our place in Magnimar. “I’m deeply honored that you have granted me your services. While my lodge is small, you have made it feel like a kingdom. Yet our victory today is somewhat bittersweet. It seems dark forces have surfaced in Varisia—forces which, before today, I was unaware of. I’m sorry to have thrown you headlong into the middle of such chaos. I have already sent word to the Decemvirate of today’s events and await their response. When I know more, I shall contact you, for I fear this key has somehow placed all of us in danger. Still, we should go forth, for now is the time to celebrate!”

Thank you all so much for participating!
I would also like to express my gratitude to the fantastic set of GM’s and support crew I had working with me to make this a success, it really was a pleasure running this and that is certainly due to their fantastic efforts. Thanks also to the Online Venture Crew who always show enthusiasm and help pave the way for our events, and to Tonya for the Boons and Gift Certs.
And lastly – thanks to all the players out there (you!) who came in to this with a great attitude and really played in the spirit of it all, even when the Heidmarch family showed some total moral greyness!

PC getting the real key has no effect other than bragging rights :-( As for top three table... that is all down you all of you being fantastic posters. Even with a pretty dire set of initiative rolls going against you at the start of act 4. I'm just chuffed a party of primarily LG types with two paladins did so well in this not-paladin-friendly scenario.

Congrats Aerondor!
You earned those bragging rights!

Indeed! Congrats across the board.
Well done all .
