Round 7 starts. Let's finish this.

![]() |

B, did I get an AoO when she cast grease on me as spells trigger an AoO? If so.
Possible AoO w/flail: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 101d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Probably a miss anyways
Round 7
Amnur curses the greased flail on the ground and uses his waraxe to attack Lura from his vantage point on the counter, moving 5' east to flank with Oriandor.
Waraxe attack and damage: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 231d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 +2 for flank, +1 for height

Shilyn, still attempting to get the crowd to throw Laura into the tank for a match against her own fighters, keeps yelling to the crowd, "C'mon you people! Grab Laura and throw her into the tank! I know you want to see her fight those creatures! Besides.. she's been over-charging you for your ale!" She takes a sip from her cup and spits it out for effect. "And.. it's watered down at that!"
diplomacyn (CU): 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 8 = 24

![]() |

"Watered down ale! Now you've gone too far, Lura!", yells Oriandor, following Shi's lead as he fakes a couple of swipes at Lura to support Amnur before taking a real stab at the assaulting ant, imbuing arcane energy into his blade before the blow.
Using a swift action to use an arcane pool point to add another +1 to my wakizashi
Attack against the ant1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage on a hit: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Brayden Green |

Amnur, she cast defensively. I'm pretty sure I labeled that, if I didn't, then that is what the roll was for, lol. Also, it isn't an automatic drop, you get a reflex save to negate. DC is 14. If you get a bonus for using your flail then try for the save and add that to your roll. If the roll (damage primarily) would be the same either way you can either repost or keep it as is.
Going to give it an hour or so to wait for Lauranna, and give Amnur a chance to respond (because if his damage is more, we might not be going another round, if you pick up what I am laying down).

![]() |

Damage is the same, one blunt the other slashing, so no biggy. Lets just keep it as is. I saw combat cast, I didn't realize it was defensively, so we're good there.

Brayden Green |

You take her down, but she doesn't look to be mortally wounded. There are still signs of life.

![]() |

Watching Laura drop to the floor, Shilyn lets out a soft sigh. "Well, there went that plan. Oh well, time for option two," she mutters. Raising her voice and hoping to clear the floor a bit, she yells to the barkeep, "Barkeep! Free drinks all around!"
Hoping down from the table, she waves to the creatures in the tank and walks over to Amnur.
"Well, if she's alive, let's find out where the boy is then take this wench to see a pirate. I think he was looking for a crew.. maybe a first mate"
With a grin, she sheathes her rapier and looks down at the prone form. "Now.. if I recall our deal.. the inn is now mine.. or ours.. either way.." She casts a grin at the others, "How do you all feel about ownership of an inn?"
Hostel takeover? Or more opportunistic crowd manipulation? hah

![]() |

Lauranna glared at the woman on the floor, then slammed the butt of her baridiche down on her head to stop her groaning. "I don't like people who abuse children, and especially not when women do it. "
nonlethal: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Brayden Green |

With authority, Lauranna!
As soon as she falls, she barely hits the ground before multiple things happen. The Sanguine Pit’s staff loots the till and carries away whatever valuables they can reach. Only Ichon’s bartender, Weigo, remains to
congratulate the triumphant strangers.
Here is a share of tonight's money he says, as you were the best event of the evening anyways! DRINKS ALL AROUND! LET'S TOAST TO MY UNEXPECTED PROMOTION!!! he yells while standing up on top of the bar and holding a flagon high, then downing it (spilling and spraying quite a lot on everyone within a 10 foot vacinity)
"LET'S ALL CONGRATULATE TONIGHTS HEROS!!!!
A loud cheer sounds throughout the tavern, but it might be more for the free beer than for yourselves.
Lura is out cold behind the bar
And now for my favorite line.... What happens next?

![]() |

Lauranna turned to the barkeep, motioning for Amnur to guard the woman's unconscious form. "Keep your drink and my share of the money and tell me where she kept the curative elixir she has been blackmailing Senzer with. I doubt anything goes on in this town that the bartender of the Sanguine Pit doesn't know. So please, help me to help this little boy."
There was no threat in Lauranna's voice, but she did glance over at Lura and the darkening weal on her forehead where the baridiche had been slammed.
diplomacy if needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

![]() |

Amnur chimes in tactfully, "Yeah, or we'll bust your head too! Ha! just joking... but we could."
Diplo assist: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

![]() |

Assuming the ant is now gone? :P
Using his tail, Oriandor grabs a blackened wand and presses it against his wound, which slowly starts healing itself.
Using a charge of my wand of Infernal Healing
He then moves to Lura's unconscious body. "Anyone gotta problem if I make the bartender's promotion more permanent? I'd rather not have her start chasing us 'round when she finally wakes up. And like a piece of scum like her deserves mercy."

![]() |

Shaking her head at Lauranna, she shrugs and says "Well.. diplomacy ala spear shaft."
Casting a glance at Oriandor, she replies "Well, if we kill her, we loose a chance at offering her to the captain for his crew. We can let him deal with her.. once he's out to sea. Plus, I don't think Amnur would appreciate us killing someone so helpless."
Turning to the barkeep, she gives her best scowl she rests her right hand on the hilt of her rapier and holds out her left hand as if to stop Amnur from charging the man.
"Look, barkeep," she begins with an even tone, "What my friends here are saying is that we would really appreciate your help. That is.. unless you want to find yourself out of a job. As you can see, the short one here has a bit o' temper about him and I really don't want to damage the stock as it cuts into profits. So.. what do you say? Help us help the kid.. you keep half ownership, just no more spice as it's bad for business to kill off your customers. Agreed?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ok, Shi has the diplomatic skills of a drunk dwarf..for obviously a sober dwarf is better at it than she is.

![]() |

Actually, hate to put salt in the wound, but Amnurs a little drunk too. ;) j/k.
Amnur sighs heavily, "It's always much easier when they just die in combat like a decent person. Any chance she'll just bleed out?" He looks around hopefully at his companions.

![]() |

I step over to Amnur, kneel slightly and give him a withering look, "There is no chance she'll bleed to death, because you won't let that happen."
I stand again and speak more to the room, "We owe him some crew. I reckon she'd take to the ocean wave: plenty of good sea air and twenty lashes if she sells any pesh or flayleaf might be just what Lura needs."

Brayden Green |

no need for threats, no need for threats.I have a right mind to help you out, as you have given me my new promotion.
Well, I'm not sure as to the exact location, but it's right around here somewheres. He points you to a general area, take a perception check the plus 5 competency bonus.

![]() |

After using his wand, Oriandor narrowly dodges another strike from the still present insect. "It's time I left my mark on you!", challenges the angry tiefling, stepping along side the bug as he starts chanting. Imbuing the magical energy into his blade, he drives the enchanted weapon into the ant in a circular motion, leaving an glowing orange 'O' rune into the wound. "And now to seal it!", Oriandor shouts, leaping into the air and slamming the wakizashi straight down through the marked wound.
With the dispatched ant now returning to its original location, Oriandor twirls his blade and sheathes it before walking up to Lura and spitting on her. "Shanghai'ing is too good for you... but I bet Captain Elanzo Trollface could have a use for you. And if you piss him off, I bet he'll just toss you overboard."
Spell combat, using Arcane Mark as a touch spell to spellstrike with the weapon, then following up another melee attack as per spell combat. I like free two-weapon fighting with the same weapon as long as I can make a concentration check :P

Brayden Green |

MMkay, well done crew!
I need a PERCEP from you's all (looking for a 25, we can stop there) and then I want an idea of what you want to do from here (ie go here, go there then go there) sort of thing. You guys ready to leave?
I know that Shi at least is interested in looting her: you find a potion of cure light wounds, she has a chain shirt on, and what seems to be a well made morningstar.

![]() |

I know that Shi at least is interested in looting her.
Hrm.. Why am I always blamed for looting? I prefer to think of it as the redistribution and purposing of disassociated items of interest. Looting.. hmph! A girl has to have some standards.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 oooh, shiney!.. hey, I was distracted ok?
After giving a quick glance around the room, Shilyn busies herself with looting.. er.. redistributing any useful items she can find on Lura. She calls Flori over to help remove the chain shirt from the unconscious woman. "Can't let her have anything of use before we give her to the Captain. After all.. she'll have to earn her way, don't you think?"

Brayden Green |

Oriandor finds a trapdoor that when (tested for magic and traps) and then opened, reveals the elixir that is keeping the young boy alive, along with some other high end, expensive medicines.
The barkeep lets you remove them all and gives you a slight bow. Anything else I can get for you? Another drink perhaps?
So, what now?

![]() |

Grinning at Flori, Shilyn grabs one of the cups from a nearby table after making sure it's at least half-full. With a shrug, she unceremoniously pours the contents over the still form of Lura. "There, now we can more easily move her through town and say she's had too much to drink and passed out. Let's have one for the road! Drinks are on Ori!"

![]() |

Earlier...
After Mylvie's quiet admonition, Amnur blushes and manages to look contrite.
Now
Drinking his free drinks along with the others, Amnur is feeling quite good about the day thus far and life in general. "Anyone have any more *hic* stops they've been wanting to make?
He collects and passes out the medicines, the cure for the boy and the rest, and when everyone's ready to head out, he thanks the new owner for the drinks and heads out into the streets. Is Lura awake or unconcious? He'll carry Lura in his arms, acting as though she's had too much to drink and he's caring for her, perhaps tossing a spare blanket over her form so passerby's don't notice the bindings on her hands and feet. He intends to hand off the medicine for the shop keeper first, so he can cure his boy for good, and then take Lura to the captain.
Just moving us out for when people are ready. Feel free to alter the Universe as Amnur knows it if someone wants to go a different direction.

![]() |

"Heh, you guys... are either gonna get me killed or make me want to kill myself.", sighs Oriandor, joining them for a quick drink.
"Well I'm up for handing Senzer the potion, then heading to House Cartehagn if the rest of you want to drop toots off to the Cap'n.", pointing his thumb at the unconscious Lura.

Brayden Green |

You take one last bow out the door, and head over to Sentzer, who is looking frantic.
You have it! he says. I am afraid the little one took a turn for the worse and I can't move him in his condition, until he gets better. Too much moving him would be certain death for him. I understand that this means I will be left behind, but will you send someone for me? Or pick me up on the way out? I don't know how much longer I have left here but I assume my days are numbered. Thank you for all you have done
To the captain? Or do you leave Lura here instead? He has implied you can leave her here if you want to get out of town, but you are fairly certain she won't make it to another dawn if you leave her in his care.
I'm assuming that you just leave her there and move on, but let me know if you have other ideas.
Almost there, just got to make it out of town.

![]() |

Looking at the others,Shilyn voices her opinion. "I think we should continue to take Lura to the Captain. As much as I'd like to leave her here to her own detriment, I don't want to temp Sentzer into giving up his humanity by allowing something to happen to her. Besides, I think the sea breeze will do her well."

Brayden Green |

The others consent too and you take her to where the sea captain is.
Hmmm, he wasn't too thrilled about it, but thought that maybe she would lose her memory with the huge lump that Lauranna gave her. He hopes...
Admit it, you just wanted to see your boyfriend captain again.

![]() |

Hey, at least he has his own boat.. world cruise.. exotic ports..trade opportunities.. hah!
"Well Captain, look at it this way.. she's a finger wiggler which will help if you encounter pirates. She has a good sense of making coin which could help when you buy and sell goods.. "
She gives the Captain a wink before continuing, "and.. if nothing else.. drop her off in Cheliax for a bit of profit. Either way, it's profit for you, right?"

Brayden Green |

going to the planetarium today. I will set up our final stuff for the chapter later on tonight.

Brayden Green |

As you get ready and leave, you make sure that you have the key and all your supplies.
Who is taking care of the key (besides Oriandor - he's already run the mission, so he doesn't get to have it), and who is leading the wagon, etc?
Are we ready to go? Anything else?
There are a lot of things that happen as you are ready to go... news of the fight at Lura's has obviously spread, and the town streets are noticeably cluttered for this late at night.
To sum up what happens, you are basically attacked by a few groups, some soldiers, some peasant looking people, as you get up to full speed and ride out of the town. (Picture an Indiana Jones movie complete with people trying to climb aboard your caravan and being kicked off, and the town gates closing, and you just make it outside the town before they can close.
A few hours later, whipping through the jungle and marsh trail, making a mad dash for your safety from the pursuit that is no doubt trailing behind you. If anything, the blistering heat of the Garund plains grows
more intense away from the coast. The trade routes cut through winding switchbacks, avoiding the marshiest ground and occasionally crossing a shallow river gorge, you come to basically a narrow pathway. At the other end stands a wiry old looking woman with a couple of "guards" (basically men with swords) accompanying her. She has a dangerous gleam in her eye and she speaks through a smile:
“Let’s not mince words, Pathfinders. Give me
the key you carry, and I shall let you continue on your way.
Refuse, and we will toss you into the river and you can swim
to your destination, without the life saving possessions you carry.”
A lizard comes from seemingly nowhere out of a fold in her robe and waddles slowly toward you.
Ormo here will retrieve the key for me. We mean you no harm, we just want that little trinket for the gold it will bring.

![]() |

"Whatever we do with her, let's get it done and be off. With that particular display, we have almost certainly attracted the sort of attention we were warned to avoid. Let us make haste."
...
Lauranna glared at the woman and hefted her baridiche. "What we have is not yours to take. Perhaps you overestimate your chances in removing it from us by force. Should you wish to keep your lizard in one piece, I suggest you call it back to you. Then, step aside and allow us to continue unmolested. I am sure that reasonable reflection will show you that this is an appropriate course of action."
diplo: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Brayden Green |

"Lizard in one piece" = Intimidate. Do you wanna reroll, or forget about the whole "lizard in one piece" line.

![]() |

[ooc] Well.. I can take the key. Let's see.. what does it unlock hmmm? Ooh look, shinies! On second thought.. do you REALLY trust a rogue with a key?? *innocent look* [ooc]
From the left side of the wagon, Shilyn watches as the lizard approaches. Using the wagon to hide her movement, she pulls out an arrow and sets it to her bow. Quietly, she says to the others, [b]"Well, this is not turning out to be our day so far. First a town mob chases us.. now lizard lady wants stuff from us. At least she asked first. I bet that thing would make a nice pair of boots."[b]

![]() |

Oriandor, sighs heavily as he hear the woman's "offer"; then turns around and awaits the response to Lauranna's counteroffer, readying the first words to an incapacitating spell if things look poorly.
Oriandor is readying Color Spray to hit as many of them as possible, particularly the woman if any of them, including the lizard, makes an offensive move and/or decline Lauranna.

Brayden Green |

We aren't in INIT yet, but maybe it's best that we do that.
INIT order:
Shilyn
Ori
Amnur
Mylvie
Flori
Lauranna
Old lady
Guards
The lizard takes a couple steps forward to the cart, walking kind of dumb looking, like lizards do.

Brayden Green |

Godzirra!!! Godzirra!!! (Small size, size of a softball.)
