"Well, with all of that mess, I hope it works."
I give a playful grin, "I am glad I hired such hardworking and determined employees. I msut have an eye for such things."

So they are obviously happy to not have ants in their basement, and they should be able to patch up things as the lotion seems to be working.
They offer you a 40% savings on your order, and promise to introduce you to their network of dealers on future purchases of weapons and armor for future savings.
Where to now?

![]() |

Amnur thanks them gruffly, trying to maintain his mercenary demeanor in public. Once they're out of sight he pats himself on the back, "Always knew I had a way with people." He looks around for the next place to go, "Don't we got a Mr Savaren or something to locate?"

Brayden Green |

The 40% discount is nice because the society gave you a certain amount of $ for the purchase of these goods, and let's just say they aren't exactly expecting a receipt back. (Can anyone say Max Gold?)

slow day...
Go ahead and give me some diplo or know local to gather info on where to go.
EDIT: Just realized the date. Valentine's Day. I guess that is why. :D

Amnur decides to try his luck at diplomacy, determined to live up to the high standards of conversation many other Paladins take to so easiliy. He approaches a street vendor, "You there! I'm a mean ol' guard and would appreciate some directions please." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
I wish I could remember where we were supposed to go! What chance does a street vendor have!? :)

Brayden Green |

You're quite handsome for a blue guy. Let's eat some chocolate and see where it goes...
I saw this on a movie one time. I think it was called "the bus that couldn't slow down."
Extra ten points if you get that reference.

Teleport Dude (Aram Zey)We already arranged payment to a caravan leader named Raimondo Scevola several weeks ago. 1. Make contact with him to carry everything north. 2. Also, look for a man named Senzer somewhere in town. He was an alchemist funneling potions and information to our team in the Uplands, but he went silent a month ago. You need to find out why and get that stream of potions flowing again.
Two more objectives. Which one seems the most bestest?

![]() |

I also vote Senzer. Diplo assist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
As per usual, Lauranna moved behind the surprisingly diplomatic dwarf, making apologies and "clarifying" the dwarf's more...dwarvish...turns of phrase. Insisting that the dwarf was looking for a potion maker that was some old friend of the family or some such - she really hadn't gotten the whole story from the dwarf, and would you be so kind?

If Keanu lived in a virtual, Machine dominated world, he's have saved poor Mr Daniels. Who can know what a madman bomber will do? I just hope Sandra comes out ok.
Amnur chimes in, wanting to be helpful, "To the Alchemist!"
Please consider my earlier roll an assist for Oriandor.

I will consider *what* I want to consider, *when* I want to consider it.

Considered.

**The correct answer, Do not pass go, do not collect 10 points. **
After some light question asking you find that Senzer's shop (Rulkep Tonics) is located towards the middle of town. Assuming you all head there directly, and don't make a pit stop to buy weapons or something.
If you are proceeding to Rulkep your encounter with him is below, and before you click on it I need a "movement" check from you. Whatever that one is that you did earlier.
skin gleaming slightly from perspiration. He smiles crookedly from behind the counter. “Welcome to Rulkep Tonics, friends. What can I do for you today?”
The shopkeep eyes the other customers uneasily for a moment before his expression shifts distinctly to fear. Silently but clearly, he mouths a single word: “Help.”

And apparently my 20's only work when I'm being sneaky.
Oriandor, sensing the threat, moves adjacent to one of the other customers while looking at some vials.
"Why hello good sir! I'd like to inquire about your magnificent anti-toxins!"

Lauranna entered the shop, eyes wide as she tried to see around the darkened interior. She took in the suspicious glances of the patrons, and marked the positions of each one. A bottle on a nearby shelf began to tremble, and she hurriedly reached out a hand to steady it, damning her haunts again for their mischief.
As the proprietor - for that is who the half-elf had to be - stepped out and greeted them, she noted his sallow looking face and the perspiration. As he mouthed his plea, she looked once more around the room to the other customers, trying to determine where the man's source of angst came from.

Trying out my new wireless keyboard for my Nexus out on this thread. It's amazing. Our gaming just got a lot better when I'm outside of the home
Anyways, from behind (I'd like you to place your pieces on the board in a non-tactical position) you hear a burly sounding voice say, There ain't nothing he needs help with... I suggest you buy something or get on your way... "

![]() |

Amnur, previously leaning in to get the scoop on the mysterious 'halb' turns to look at the speaker. "I don't like your tone, merchants and mercenaries here, serious business! Maybe you ought to be on your way?" Still playing the part, Amnur tries his best to look mean. Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Brayden Green |

Ori, not working... They are very very wary of you. And back away keeping a healthy space.
Amnur, they don't seem to be impressed.
I think that we will take it in init order from here, just in case. Not saying that you have to fight, or even should, dealing with time sensitive stuff and it would be better to post in order instead of flurry of actions taken place all of the same time.
I'm not at my CPU, so let's handle all of the non fighting stuff until tonight, and then if we choose we can set up combat.

Waiting in the shop for a few moments after the others have left, Shilyn slips out the door and follows discreetly at a distance, stopping to eye the wares from various street merchants along the way and picking up yet one more thing to eat.
She delays entering Senzer's, to give the appearance of not being with the others and her eyes scan the street around her. After a moment, she follows, entering the shop. Her eyebrow raises a bit at Amnur's outburst, but holds her tongue, choosing to browse a bit and let her eyes and ears survey the area.

"Hello, Mr Senzer, we've come to arrange a delicate business matter with you. I'm afraid we'll have to wait until everyone else has left before we can discuss anything further."

Brayden Green |

You won't be discussing anything business with him. He has enough businesses with the three of us here. I suggest you leave, before things get rough, and unpleasant-like. Two grab out whips, and one grabs a crossbow and they wave them menacingly.

rolling INIT and doing prepwork, etc. 5 month old has a cough and runny nose, so bear with me. I'm doing everything one handed, lol. Should be up soonish.

Brayden Green |

As a side note, for the INIT, Mylvwara, I don't see your stats posted, so you are rolling a 20 with no bonuses on INIT. Go ahead and update those if you would like to add any of your bonuses on stuff I roll for you... Ask me or the others if you aren't sure how they did it.

On his turn
Amnur turns to fully face the threatening folks, and slowly draws his waraxe, "You sure this is a fight yer wanting lads?"

![]() |

"I say we just kill them; in a town a town like this, bodies are easier to handle than captives.", smiling as he draws out his blade.
"You chaps must think really highly of yourselves to threaten us with two to one odds in our favor."

Seeming to ignore the growing disturbance, Shilyn continues to browse, keeping an eye on things out of her peripheral vision, as she tries to make her way toward the left side of the two with the whips. She picks up an item here and there, looks at it and sets it back as she works her way around.

Brayden Green |

They wait, seeming to be ready for a fight (crossbow loaded, whips at the ready, etc.)
Outnumbered? One whistle from this chain and I'd have you outnumbered 5 to 1. I'm not sure if you are new in town or not, but we run this place... Consider us city guard, and salute when I talk to you.
(Clearly not dressed as a city official, dressed like a thug)
SM if you want. Your take 10's are telling you that there might be an ounce of truth to what he is saying.

![]() |

Hmm, call his 'bluff'? or try and come back later/at night for a secretive meeting? We could leave and follow them if they take Senzer away, then try and ambush them?
Amnur harumphs, not liking how this is shaping up, "I've never been so good at saluting. But a'fore we all kill each other, is this fellow even Mr Senzer?"

Brayden Green |

I am. And... he looks from one group to the other, clearly wanting to run and hide somewhere.

![]() |

As long as people are feeling talkative...
Amnur half-turns to look at Senzer, "Seems we're not ready to leave just yet. So Senzer, why is the 'city guard' in yer place posing as thugs?"

![]() |

"Alright then, ladies and gentlemen, you heard him. If his hand goes anywhere near that chain we need to kill him as quickly and efficiently as possible."
I pause and give the man a thin smile, "Is that what you meant?"

Brayden Green |

In an instant, things go from just bluffing and bravado to deadly...
Round 1. Follow INIT. Will resolve tomorrow.

![]() |

Giving the stats a quick browse, our only real diplomatiser is Oriandor. We don't know anything with which to make decisions or plans in this environment. In different type of adventure we might well be able to offer bribes, manipulate, deploy out own reputation and contacts, etc. All we can do here to people who intimidate us is either (a) intimidate back, harder, or (b) run away.
And, as this is part of the mission, running away isn't an option.

Brayden Green |

Correct Mylvie. YOur options here were to:
A) Fail
B) Fight here
C) Fight later (which would have acutally been much worse off for you later, and have had much less interesting rp in a later aspect of the mission, so...)
B seems the best selection, to me.
As a group, you should decide if you are doing lethal or subdual damage. They are brandishing whips, but have scimitars hanging at their belts.
The fighter or rogue types would know that although a blow with a whip doesn't particularly feel good, it isn't likely to kill you. Now, a blow with a scimitar, I think everyone has enough experience to imagine what that does to you.

![]() |

![]() |

As I already noted, I'm aiming for lethal damage. On that note, are you going to put the thug tokens up?
If one is near the door, Oriandor will move in to strike, aiming to flank if someone provides the opportunity. If there isn't an enemy within 30' of the door, he'll stand guard, readying an action to strike at anyone who moves within reach.

Brayden Green |

It's not dotting an updating for new posts... I think that is why we don't have much going on here. the "3 new posts" thing...
Ori, thanks for the *reminder* ;) (whoops)
Baddies tokens are up. Let's give it a few hours and see if everyone else just happens to stop in even without an update. If not then I'll bot the rest of them the first round and send out invites.
On second thought, do one of you want to volunteer to "wake" the others and send them a pm to let them know it isn't updating new posts (for imaginary points, and a "GM, may I" future favor...) :)
