Sadly, it turns out my current character level spread doesn't support a 4-5 game (except for Mahasi, who has DM credit for the game in question already).

Have fun folks! It's definitely one of the more interesting levels of thornkeep.

You can play it with a level 6 PC if that helps.

Gutted, can't afford Gamin at all.

To be honest, it's a lot to pay for a friend who casts guidance on you and dropping +1 on an ally's attack.

Scabbard of vigour is pretty sweet though, for martial types.

I love that I have gained the condition 'Friend of Gamin'!

Yeah; so far, I have you, Shilyn, Varian, and Orion on board. Amnur will be a floating 7th, while I'm confirming if Mahasi has a legal PC or not for this. At the very least, I'll be looking for 1 person, possibly two. I plan to get this started sometime next week. Until then, relax in the Discussion page as usual :)

BPC: would you clarify for me again, how much do I have to spend to add spells to my spellbook? I fancy a few more 3rd level options.

It's been ruled that the cost of scribing a spell from a non-found NPC spellbook (basically buying access to the spell) is 1/2 the cost of scribing it. In other words, the total cost to scribe a spell from an NPC is 1.5 times the spell scribe cost, or 135gp for a level 3 spell :)

1 = 15
2 = 60
3 = 135
4 = 240
5 = 375
6 = 540
7 = 735

At some point, buying a blessed book can look attractive.

Also, you don't pay scribing or copying costs for the two free spells per level you get as a wizard.

I would like to join you folks with Lirianne the pregen gunslinger. I can then resume with Mahasi for the next adventure. Would that be acceptable for you folks?

Good day folks, Deaglan, priest of Trudd will be joining you.

Deaglan is a ftr1 / cleric2 and likes to do battle with his dwarven longhammer. He normally leaves the discussions to others, and sometimes chimes in with a comment or point that needed to be made. In case you have never heard of Trudd the Mighty, he is Torag's youngest son and the strongest of the Dwarven Gods.

Welcome Deaglan... Nice to have another divine caster in the party, because I'm not much of a healer.

Hey everyone. So I got an email from a player and it reminded to come on here and let you all know what is going on:

My wife informed me last week that she has felt a few times over the last month that she has wanted to die, and she is starting to worry about herself. So, needless to say, most "extra" stuff is getting put on the back burner while we go through this and find ways for her to be happy.

She seems to be doing better every week, but it isn't really something that I am able to give a timetable for. Sorry for stringing you all along. This honestly wasn't my intention. So as far as gaming goes, I am hoping to put a hold on it until mid-summer and then I hope to be back in, but who really knows?

This makes me sad, as this is something that I really enjoy, but I have to do what I need to take care of my family.

Thanks, and I appreciate you all. I hope to see you on here later. If this means replacing me in this group I would understand, but would hope to meet somewhere with you again in the future.

Orion, I wish you and your wife come out of this together and well.

I have been in the exact same situation and can only advice you to listen to your wife and help her get professional aid for this. We found out that my wife lacks some hormones in her system, causing her feelings to be the way they where. Now that she takes medicines her happiness is back and the period seems like a bad dream.

Edit: I realise that our situations are not exactly the same and that "I have been in the exact same situation" does not cover my meaning. What I meant is that my wife had a very similar message for me and that I can relate to your situation.

Thank you. She is on anti-depressants and has started going back to counseling. She lost her mother to cancer last year and it has started a row of dominoes to fall that is causing a serious look inward to find happiness in and of herself. She is trying earnestly to get to that point, and she will. It is just hard for her right now, because she is trying to find value in herself when she previously had none. She is trying to shift her value system, and that can be a very hard thing to do.

Another request: I'm running another PbP for the new scenario Scars of the Third Crusade, a 1-5 investigation mission.
