Expect another post tonight, I just need to refresh my memory on certain things.

It's looking like this will be low tier. If that is a problem, feel free to switch out.

Liberty's Edge

HP 45/45; Judgement 2/2; Bane 6/6; Discern lies 6/6; Reroll @+4 1/1; Assimar (archon blooded) F Assimar Inquisitor/5; AC 18(*) | T9 | FF 17| CMB |CMD 13| Fort +6*| Ref +2*| Will +9* (* +1 for each adjacent ally)| Init +4 | Perc +15|LOOKOUT FEAT(use allies surprise/init)| Speed 40; (*Snake Style, AC is 1d20+25 vs first attack)

If you don't mind a level 4 in the game, I'm happy to play, as this looks to be the kind of scenario that Fargrim would enjoy. Alternatively I can swap out for a 2nd level Grippli.

I don't mind, I just wanted to make sure. I hate surprising people.

I'll update further tomorrow, local PFS ran late tonight and I have more rules to go over.

I almost TPK'd my Thornkeep table. Which was a surprise for me.

Also, that scenario you are talking about with the village defense was so mind-numbingly easy when I both played and ran it that I have a hard time understanding how one could have partially wiped a table with that one. As written it was one of the most cakewalkiest cakewalks I have ever cakewalked. I'm sorry you didn't find much enjoyment from it.

Silver Crusade

Male Wayang Fighter 7/Brawler 1 | HP 75/75 | AC 23/13/18 | F +11, R +8, W +5 (+2 vs. shadow, +2 vs. mind-affecting)| Init +2 | Perc +10 | Conditions: Dragon Style

Female Wallaby Familiar (mauler) 7 | HP 37/37 | AC 18/12/16 | F +7, R +6, W +2 (improved evasion) | Perc +7 | Active Conditions: Battle Form, Dragon Style

I feel like that scenario had the potential to be devastating, but my party kind of curbstomped the last bit by having the right composition and spells to incapacitate everyone. I see where it can be deadly, though.

Liberty's Edge

HP 45/45; Judgement 2/2; Bane 6/6; Discern lies 6/6; Reroll @+4 1/1; Assimar (archon blooded) F Assimar Inquisitor/5; AC 18(*) | T9 | FF 17| CMB |CMD 13| Fort +6*| Ref +2*| Will +9* (* +1 for each adjacent ally)| Init +4 | Perc +15|LOOKOUT FEAT(use allies surprise/init)| Speed 40; (*Snake Style, AC is 1d20+25 vs first attack)

We had a group of all level ones. One of which left after the first battle on the road. Actually I think there may have been a level 2 fighter in the team.

None of the rules for the fortification were explained at all.

I seem to recall, in the defence of the GM, that our tactics were not the best either. A fighter jumped over the barrier to engage the attackers rather than stay back and keep the defences up.

It was a while back now. We were swarmed before they even got up to the...unexpected...final encounter.

I'll be updating late tonight. Train delays mean that I'm stuck in Boston far longer than I really care for.

Silver Crusade

Male Varisian 2nd Level Kinetic Chirurgeon | HP 21/21 (NLD 0) (THP 2/2) | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 13 | Fort +7 | Ref +5 | Will +2 | Init +3 | Perc +6 | Burn: 0/7

Agreed that the tactics definitely could've been better on our part with that scenario. I did not realize you were part of that group, Fargrim! I think one of things that got me the most was when the two gallons of water I cast upon the barricade to put out the fire caused it to collapse, yet the weight of numerous attackers climbing it did not...

Sorry about my delay everyone! My department had our annual inspection/memorial service yesterday so I spent all night Wednesday after work preparing for that and then my son got sick yesterday... and tonight's shift has been extremely busy.

Liberty's Edge

HP 45/45; Judgement 2/2; Bane 6/6; Discern lies 6/6; Reroll @+4 1/1; Assimar (archon blooded) F Assimar Inquisitor/5; AC 18(*) | T9 | FF 17| CMB |CMD 13| Fort +6*| Ref +2*| Will +9* (* +1 for each adjacent ally)| Init +4 | Perc +15|LOOKOUT FEAT(use allies surprise/init)| Speed 40; (*Snake Style, AC is 1d20+25 vs first attack)

I have forgotten about much of the details. I remember being thoroughly confused by a lot of the prep work, and we got virutally no guidance from the GM about what effect things would have or how hard they would be.

My memory may be fading a bit of the details here as it was a couple of years ago.

I've done the scenario a couple of times since and not had anything like the trouble, but to be fair, after that first time, I've taken care to make sure that we were logging what everyone was doing and putting a lot of effort into making sure that we were all doing something to contribute.

Silver Crusade

Male Varisian 2nd Level Kinetic Chirurgeon | HP 21/21 (NLD 0) (THP 2/2) | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 13 | Fort +7 | Ref +5 | Will +2 | Init +3 | Perc +6 | Burn: 0/7

Not sure if this matters, but Falshin does not carry much in the way of armor and/or armaments. He only wears a Lamellar Cuirass and the only weapons he carries are two daggers. Technically his walking stick is a Hanbo, but it looks more like a walking stick than a weapon.

Liberty's Edge

BTW I'm at a conference for the rest of the week, so posting may not happen.

I didn't notice an update from what Fargrim may have learned.

Just to figure out timing, is there time to visit the field where the body was today, or will we need to wait to morning. Just want to make sure we don't waste on opportunity since we are on a clock

Sorry again. Wednesdays and Thursdays are local game days so I get home too late to post a coherant update. I'll post tomorrow.

Great RP thus far btw.

Alright here are your chronicle sheets!

I also would like to apologize if this went slower than I had advertised or than you wanted. I have had a lot of things going on lately, between the special, my professional and academic life and I'm sorry that this game had to take the brunt of it. I don't think it excuses the slow pace at times, but you certainly deserved an explanation.

As always, I like to ask for feedback. Feel free to provide it! And, if there are any portions of the adventure that are/were unclear, I am more than happy to explain them to you.

Sound off when you have your chronicles and when you've checked them.

Also, I am going to put a plug for myself: I will be GMing at GenCon this year, GMing Through Maelstrom Rift until I go cross eyed. I'll also be doing Solstice Scar at subtier 7-8, and a couple other scenarios. If you are there and have a ticket for those events, I'll be glad to meet the people behind the screen!

Liberty's Edge

Thanks. I think I was the biggest issue for speed of the game for about a month with internet/power issues in the Memphis suburbs. Of course, Paizo issues didn't help either. Every game I was a part of lost momentum at the same time.

Liberty's Edge

HP 45/45; Judgement 2/2; Bane 6/6; Discern lies 6/6; Reroll @+4 1/1; Assimar (archon blooded) F Assimar Inquisitor/5; AC 18(*) | T9 | FF 17| CMB |CMD 13| Fort +6*| Ref +2*| Will +9* (* +1 for each adjacent ally)| Init +4 | Perc +15|LOOKOUT FEAT(use allies surprise/init)| Speed 40; (*Snake Style, AC is 1d20+25 vs first attack)

This didn't feel slow to me. I enjoyed the change of pace and I think not making a single attack roll during the scenario. That is Fargrim's kind of a mission.

Silver Crusade

Male Wayang Fighter 7/Brawler 1 | HP 75/75 | AC 23/13/18 | F +11, R +8, W +5 (+2 vs. shadow, +2 vs. mind-affecting)| Init +2 | Perc +10 | Conditions: Dragon Style

I went into this scenario knowing Arnold would be very much out of his element, and ended up thoroughly enjoying it. I had no trouble with the speed, especially given that real life happens and the site was being quite fickle. Thanks very much for running!

Silver Crusade

Male Varisian 2nd Level Kinetic Chirurgeon | HP 21/21 (NLD 0) (THP 2/2) | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 13 | Fort +7 | Ref +5 | Will +2 | Init +3 | Perc +6 | Burn: 0/7

I also had no issues with the speed of the game! This scenario seems like it could be a beast to run via PbP, but I think you did a fantastic job with it!

Silver Crusade

230524-12 | Male NG Human (Varisian) Occultist (Haunt Collector) 1.1 | HP: 13/14 | AC 15 T 10 FF 15 | CMB +4 CMD 14 | F +5 R +1 W +3 | Init +0 | Perc +4 SM +4 | Speed 20 ft |

Yes, thank you for running this, it was very cool! The only time I really noticed the hiccups was during the site issues, and that certainly wasn't your fault.

Liberty's Edge

Unchained Rogue/Mouser 4/2 | HP 41/41 | AC 24, T 17, FF 24 Uncanny Dodge| Fort +3, Ref +13 +2 vs Traps, Evasion, Will +1 (+2 vs Fear) | Init +5 | Perc +15 (+2 vs Traps/Surprise)Trapspotter | Luck: 3/3 | Panache: 4/4 | Charmed Life: 3/3 |Effects:

To be honest I would like things to move a bit faster to help keep involved and in character, but as others have said most of those were due to the site being a pita for a stretch. Non combat scenarios can be hard on everyone sometimes. I'm glad I was in it with Frankie vs a more combat oriented character. Also having group members spread out doing different things can be difficult, especially on the GM's end.

Long story short: I enjoyed the game even with the slow downs sapping a bit of my in character-ness. I hope I didn't put too much of a burden on the rest with my often lack of usefulness other than maybe a distraction. (8 int and 8 wis are bad options for an investigation!) I've got some interesting choices to make for this character now that he's got 3XP. Thanks for adding to his character building process and looking forward to playing with you all again sometime.
