Constantin the Azlant |
Can I find out the result of my spell?
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Krolmnite shakes the cobwebs away. Glancing around for a moment, Who hit me! He stares at the spider, I bet it was you! He advances next to Glenn and let's loose an earth blast at the spider.
earth blast + pbs + IC: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 26
damage + pbs + IC: 1d6 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 9
GM Upaynao |
Whoops. I looked at it and thought "Huh, better remember to make both those checks. And lookee where i'm at. :(
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
The Spider doesn't seem fazed by the burst of sound which would have felled a lesser man... Or woman. However, Krolmnite's blast and Constantin's Word have more than bruised her upper lip.

Constantin the Azlant |
If at first you don't succeed...
Constantin maintains the ear-battering barrage against Ouidda.
Friends, finish her forthwith! Ere my magic melts away!
Dazed and Sonic Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6. A DC 14 Fort save negates the daze and halves the damage.
I'm granting a +2 bonus to attacks and damage, and a +1 bonus to saves vs. Charm or Fear in a mixture of morale and competence bonuses
Rogar the Relentless |
Rogar trundles all the way up to the Spider and shouts over his shoulder.
"Dammit, Ivar! Now's not the time to fantasize about bones!"
Double move
Trixalana |
Round 2
Seeing that her companion is still suffering from the magic effects, Trix rushes over and slaps Aquavious across the cheek. "Snap out of it!"
Round 3
She then quickly casts a spell upon Aquavious to protect her against evil. Protection From Evil.
Aquavius |
The wind blows all around her, and for a bit, everything's peaceful.
Well, until a sail slaps her in the face. A 3 and a half foot tall sail? Huh?
Reality comes in as Aquavius comes to. "Huh, wha? Sorry about that, something about art? What happened?" The undine grumbles, and then pets Ivar. "Hey, wake up. Your boss needs ya."
Aquavius will spend a standard breaking the fascination over Ivar, then moving into the room.
Glenn Kerosin |
Glenn quickly poisons a dart and blows it at the tangled woman
Dart, DC 15 Fort save on hit, take laat roll as dex damage on fail: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d3 ⇒ 2
GM Upaynao |
@Khana: Your arrow still did not hit
Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Again the Spider is able to withstand the sonic assault!
Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
However, Glenn's dart does cause her to be further incapacitated.
Defensive Casting: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
In her frantic attempts to flee, she cannot seem to word her spell correctly!
Round 3-4

Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
It suddenly occurs to me that the danger in this fight is not that we get killed, but that the Spider escapes - something to consider in our tactics.
Khāṇa advances and takes another shot...
shortbow, courage, flag, melee penalty: 1d20 ⇒ 8
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
arrow retrievable on even: 1d100 ⇒ 57
...which lands, in almost comic fashion, in the fireplace.
Rogar the Relentless |
Seeing that that Aquavius has roused Ivar from his daydream about soup bones, he barks an order.
"Pincer maneuver, boy!"
When the the hound is in position, he strikes.
Free action to order Ivar to flank and then ready an attack for when he does. Ivar double moves into position and the attack triggers.
Attack (flank, IC, PA+FF): 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 23
Damage (IC, PA, challenge): 1d10 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 16
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Krolmnite lets loose another earth blast.
earth blast + pbs + IC - into combat: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 22
damage + pbs + IC: 1d6 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 12
Aquavius |
Aquavius moves behind the couch and peers over to the Councilwoman.
"Now, where was I? Oh yeah. Surrender already so I get drinkin with Rogar a little bit sooner. Or don't, and meet the Pirate Queen at the bottom of the ocean. Makes no difference to me."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Aquavius seems more lazy than determined.
Constantin the Azlant |
Constantin strides forward confidently, wildly lashing out with his whip to try to distract her from Rogar's blows.
Aid Another: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) - 1 + 2 + 2 = 7
I'm granting a +2 bonus to attacks and damage, and a +1 bonus to saves vs. Charm or Fear in a mixture of morale and competence bonuses
Glenn Kerosin |
Glenn pulls a second net, ready to drop it on her should she try to escape
Check to see if she takes more poison damage, DC 15 again
Dex Damage on fail: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Net Throw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
GM Upaynao |
Trapped, beaten and bloody, councilwoman Ouidda collapses onto the ground, unconscious as guards fill the room. Unconscious but not dead, they bind her limbs and gag her before transporting her out, but not before a loud noise coming from one of the discreetly concealed closets makes everyone in the room scramble to open it, arms at the ready. Inside, troves of paperwork, all seemingly signed with the spider sigil you've seen previously, but more importantly an elderly man, himself bound and gagged. Amenopheus the Saphire Sage.
Going through the papers as Amenopheus is freed, you see names that you might have heard of: Chalfon Dalsine, Kormiggon Sussworth, Hondo Heru, Caggrigar... Some of the papers even seem to suggest that she was behind the assault on Skyreach and the Grand Lodge in Absalom. More nameless contacts are mentioned, but who they may be remains a mystery. More worryingly, a letter in elegant script from a person signed only “the Needle” promises that “the Red Mantis will see the assassination through upon the orders of your ally.”
Amenopheus' first words are of concern for the Pathfinders within the Almas Lodge and Venture Captain Bracket. He reveals that he attempted to become a double-agent for the Ten to spur them into action, showing them that the Society is vulnerable to treason at the highest levels of the organization. To do so, deception needed to be used, and he needed to appear the traitor to the Society.
Nonetheless, the crisis has mostly been averted, and things in Almas can return to normal for pathfinder agents, even though many guests still remain unaccounted for, as do a number of the Spider's hobgoblins.
Krolmnite Quissabom |
As the Sapphire Sage is freed Krolmnite stares in amazement!
I bet it's a good thing we showed up! I had no idea the treachery ran so deep. I'm glad she was caught before she did even more damage.
Aquavius |
"Well, this is quite a haul!" Aquavius smiles. "The problem with double crossin', even for good reasons," she looks at the Sapphire Sage, "Is that you attract the wrong people."
"Now then, if we're done here?" Aquavius waits briefly for another outburst, or kidnapping victim to escape, or something to ruin her day. "Rogar, let's find a bar and make a mess."
Rogar the Relentless |
"Yeah, let's leave the readin' to the boffins. Come on Ivar, I'm sure you can get a bowl of ale as well."
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
DC 17 Appraise, Inspired: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 9 + (4) = 19
"Wait for me! I just found out about a great local saloon - a legitimate one this time! Without being too legitimate, of course."
"Business prospect" identified for Exchange Faction Objective.
GM Upaynao |
The cell where the Spider awakens is cold, and her once fine garments are in tatters. Groaning softly, she thinks back upon her actions at the People's Council. Why in the nine layers of Hell didn't I escape?
Suddenly, a heavy jail door opens and a group of people walk briskly down towards her cell. Standing up, she walks over to her jail door, pulling at her bindings. She cannot speak, because of the gag in her mouth, but as the figures come into view, she cannot help but smile. You'll make a fool out of me only once Pathfinders. I will get my revenge.
The heavy cell door clicks open, and Ouidda steps forward to freedom.
