Bjarke the Brute |
Bjarke stands back and drinks one of the clw potions.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"I don't understand it!" he announces, but will help the others repeat whatever it is they're doing.
Kennald Mercer |
"Well Lads? I'm in a room, it looks pretty normal, though the mirror in here ... might ... be off. Anyone else see anything odd? How many rooms are there?"
Kennald wanders up to the mirror, and keeps staring at it, the reflection, and after several minutes, laughing to himself, attempts to reach into it, before trying to take it off the wall.
Dagki Rangvaldr |
Dagki starts banging on the door.
"Oi! This working?!"
He unlocks the door and tries to step out again.
If this is possible... Two rooms in one space are a bit confusing
Dagki Rangvaldr |
"Oi! Stuck here!"
He starts banging on the door angrily as he isn't able to get out.

THE END: Siege of Serpents

Bjarke the Brute |
I'd like to do the boss fight, but Bjarke's too dumb to solve this puzzle fast. If the smarter characters won't solve it, I figure Bjarke will eventually be able to do this through trial and error.
"Dagki, you lock door again and we open it!" Bjarke yells.
"I think..."
After Dagki's locked the door again, Bjarke tries to open it from the other side.
Kennald Mercer |
I don't think Kennald is smart enough to figure this out, and that I will indeed need to rebuild him as someone ... a bit smarter after this. Also, will be out of town for the weekend with intermittent access. I'll try and check in periodically as I can.
"Ok, I can't figure this out. This room seems to be the key, but I can't make the mirror work. Anyone free to join me and help?"
Kennald heads to the door and tries to get it open to let others in.
Dagki Rangvaldr |
Dagki tries to unlock the door and step out of the room again to join the others.
"Hello?"
I think this from the 18th got missed, where Kennald attempts to reach into the mirror. I think that you were recovering from the plague at the time. Does this change anything?.
Dagki Rangvaldr |
Since no one responds to Dagki inside the normal room he looks for another way out. If there is a window he will break it and enter through the front door. If not he will try and break the door with his axe.
Kennald Mercer |
"I think, I might have found it! Lets see if we can all get into this room. Dagki? Are you OK over there?"
Kennald coordinates the locking and unlocking of his room to try and get Dagki free, so that everyone can end up in the room where you can reach through the mirror.
GM Hills |
Dagki does find a window, and he is able to open it...not break it. Before he climbs out, he hears Kennald.
Dagki Rangvaldr |
Dagki, already halfway out of the window, decides its too late now and enters through the front door again.
"Too late."
He says as he rounds the corner and sees everyone.
"Took you long enough to respond."
He follows after the others through the mirror.
GM Hills |
The southeast corner of this room has broken off along with part
of the floor. Rubble, loose bricks, and masonry litter the edges.
Beyond the opening, blue sky and the Absalom’s city skyline are
plainly visible. A solitary door is closed to the south and a full length mirror is bolted to northwest wall.
The door looks to have recently been held firm, but due to a recent shifting in the angle of the tower, which the group is able to accommodate for as they come through the mirror, the door is no longer blocked.
When the tower shifts during the scenario, it moves a log that blocks the door. It also requires a Reflex save, as you are entering post shift, you are just able to adjust since you aren't in combat.
The blue sky seems to be filled with some sort of magical field that whenever stray debris falls through, it explodes.
The group is able to move around the tower easily and find stairs leading up...upon heading that way they find...
The top floor of the tower is an open, undivided by interior walls but for the small space partitioning the stairwell. Windows large enough to step through line the exterior walls. Immense magical circles are permanently etched into the floor, their lines and curves inscribed and filled with several types of metallic powder. Faint, multi-colored mist roils within the southern circle. Two strange contraptions stand near the northwest and southwest windows. Each device is a large, red-tinted crystalline lens mounted in a frame so that they may be angled in all directions.
Standing in the room are three, very clearly, Aspis agents, who immediately move to attack.
Sago: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Kennald: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Ciro: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Bjarke: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Dagki: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Kennald is up!
Beard has an axe, bandanas have short swords out
Kennald Mercer |
My Apologies, but I seem to have misplaced the map, and can't find a link to it, having checked back through the pages, I still didn't find it, even on page 2 with our first combat. I'll check back in about 12 hours, as I'd really prefer to SEE the map before deciding on an action. I suspect I'll be moving to a defensive choke point between us and them, to help screen everyone arrival. I'm not sure if we're entering this room from a stairway, or a doorway, or if there ARE choke points I can hold.
I'm sorry to hear that you and your family are still sick, here's some warm wishes and hopes that you all heal up soon! <casts remove disease x3>
Bjarke the Brute |
There's a link to the map below the GM's name. It reads "SERPENTS!"
Kennald Mercer |
OH Bloody! So there is. Thank you. I moved myself on the map while at work, and here's the actual actions. Though I am glad I waited till I looked at the map to move.
Kennald cautiously moves past Bjarke to the top of the stairs and cautiously approaches and stabs at the Bearded Aspis Agent.
1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 4 = 20 Defensive attack, -4 ATT, +2 AC > AC 19
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
"You and yours have caused quite the ruckus today, Surrender, or die like the rest we have faced this day."
Should moving on the stairs be an issue, I'll spend a free action to use Agile Feet Domain Ability and ignore any Difficult Terrain for the round.
GM Hills |
Yes the stairs should be difficult terrain, so that is a good plain.
The half-orc tries to dodge around the spear but doesn't quite manage it, taking a deep cut from the spear before stepping forward and slashing with his axe.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
1d12 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
But the weapon is deflected away by Kennald's improved defenses...or perhaps it was just his standard one...
Then one of the two swordbearers begins tumbling in an attempt to get advantageous positioning.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Only to fail to making past the spear of Kennald.
1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 4 = 20
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
And the tip manages to catch the foot of the woman and throw her just right...and she lands on her head in a awkward sounding thwump...and stops moving.
Seeing her companion fall, she simply rushes in to avoid the weapon.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
crit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Crit damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The sword manages it's way past the spear defense and nearly slices Kennalds neck opened, instead digging into the clerics shoulder. Kennald takes five and easily misses getting crit
PATHFINDERS GO!
Dagki Rangvaldr |
"Coming through!"
Dagki yells as he moves up the stairs and to the nearest enemy. He brings down his axe on the poor soul.
"Hihi! Blood look good on you!"
Atk roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Dmg roll: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Bjarke the Brute |
Bjarke moves behind the enemy man, circling him to prevent provoking an attack. He ends up in a flanking position with Dagki and drops his shield. With both of his hands on his battleaxe, Bjarke lets out a loud roar as he starts his rage and attacks.
"HYAAAAAAAA!!!"
Battleaxe, Rage, Flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 29 Damage, Two-Handed, Rage: 1d8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 28 Damage, Two-Handed, Rage: 1d8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12
Bjarke the Brute |
Thank you for reminding me!
More damage!: 1d8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
38 damage total! :D
GM Hills |
1d8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13 Axe is x3
And without another word, Dagki malicious slices the Aspis agent's head off, a grim spray of blood seems to wash all over him.
A...cage in the corner seems to be fighting to open, a creature of energy within, straining...a bright flash of light occurs and two more creatures appear in the room...both made, seemingly, of pure electricity.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Kennald, Sago, and Bjarke are up!
