Nehyril |
As Nehyril picks his way through the brush to inch closer to the water, his eyes widen in shock as the Varisian's...whatever, vanishes from sight under a single blow. Hells! That thing was one of our heavy hitters. Definitely best to keep out of reach then.
Once again smiling inwardly at the wisdom of his particualr speciailization, Neyril shoots off a third arrow as he breaks through the undergrowth.

Janira, seeing Verrak go down in one blow gives her pause for the safety of the others, but quickly snaps back into action. She takes a cautious step forward, and attempts to rip the axe out of the beasts hands and eliminate an immediate threat. She manages to wrap the whip around the large axe, but it slides off right as she begins to try and wrestles it from his hands.

Aldaeth, do you wish to try and cross the trunk bridge at 1/2 speed for a dc 7 acrobatics check OR go through the river with a DC 15 swim. If you fail the log there is a DC 13 reflex save to avoid falling in the water?

Verrak, even though unconscious his summoned eagle continues to press the attack. It scratches the bovine beast with both its claws but fails to connect with the bite. Meanwhile Verrak's body catches up with the wound and his wounds stop bleeding and clot.
The Minotaur, suffering a multitude is scratches and arrow punctures, decides that possible meal(s) are too much effort and work and decides to go find an easier meal elsewhere. It withdraws and heads away from the group at a brisk pace.
Nehyril is not pleased with the creature turning to run lets another arrow fly. Even at a greater distance, the arrow lodges firmly in the beasts spine, and it crumples to the ground, in a giant heap.
COMBAT OVER
There is still the matter of Victoria and Aldaeth swimming and Verrak bleeding but I know there is some healing still left so I am not too worried

Heh. See above. Z'hor'll already popped you out of the water!
DM Stylz |
Janira, huffs and puffs a bit after the fight. She sits for a bit catching her breathe.
Job well done everyone. What about Verrak, unfortunately I am all out of spells due to the overgrown swine. Can someone else help the lad out, he risked his life for little old me, she says with a beaming smile on her face.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
"Oh, we still have your wand, Janira!"
Z'hor'll scampers across the log that Aldeath fell off of (take 10 for 14). He uses a charge off of Janira's wand CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9, then hands the wand back to Janira.
"I am very glad to see that you survived the beast. He seemed quite... viscious. I think we've figured out what we were supposed to. We actually met a very nice Gillman by the name of Uori! He was stone deaf, but we could still communicate rather well, as long as he was looking at him. Oh, and there were these frescoes, and a miniature Absalom. We slew some creatures inside... but we did not investigate the caves fully. Should we go back in?"
DM Stylz |
Janira smiles as Z'hor tells her all about what was found and seen and documented. She looks up to the sky, then looks back to Z'hor and the rest of the group.
Whether you wish to go back in or return to Absolom is up to your group. This is your confirmation, I am but a guide. If you wish to go back, I will stay out here and start working on my official reports. If you are ready to go back then we can start to head back when your all ready. It truly is all up to you
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Z'hor'll looks to see how Verrak is doing... as he took the worst of this encounter. "How are you doing, Verrak? Did you want to go back in?"
Z'hor'll is barely containing his enthusiasm for going back in. 'There is more to learn, more to see!' he thinks.
"I still have spells left! And I can inspire more courage in you all! And we can talk to Uori again! Hey, we also have that wand he gave us. I think we should go back in, and check out the passage we didn't go down. Couldn't take us that long! Plus, we'll have more to report... and maybe some new flea marionettes to play with!"
Z'hor'll is itching to use his "power joke" on someone.... he knows that it will just crack them up! Hideous Laughter
Victoria Hennessee |
"Is everyone ok? Janira, you had me worried.
Tori will channel again if others are still injured. Otherwise she will ring water from her cloak, pack and hair.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
"Oh, Vickie, I got that... and you too, Aldaeth!"
Z'Hor'll casts Prestidigitation, and pulls the water out of Victoria's clothes and hair, burning a round of performance to create a solid water rose out of the water, which he hands to the Aasamir. He then turns to Aldeath (and the flower collapses back into water), and dries him off with the spell.
Verrak |
"Thank you my friends... I am sure I will be fine. If nothing else, I have learned caution!" he says wearily, though with a smile.
"If there are more caves to explore, then I'm ready"

"Let's head back in. Janira, would you mind terribly if we kept the wand... just in case? Victoria, maybe when we leave Uori's cavern, you should set up the Shield of Faith on us all... Let's go!"
Z'hor'll sprints to the cave entrance, barely waiting for an answer, from anyone. "Rondo, where'd you go?"
Nehyril |
Nehyril mutters at the zealous eagerness of the undine, but turn to follow him nonetheless.
"Slow down you dast idiot! Unless you think you can take on the whole cavern by yourself!"
As he moves towards the caves, Nehyril also calls back to Janira. "And keep an eye on that thing's corpse. One of those horns could make a fine memento."
Rondo Gobbah |
Rondo has been riffling through the minotaur's belongings. Searching
However, at the mention of his name Rondo finally pulls his head out of the clouds and looks at the rest of the party running back towards the cave entrance, "Oh, Rondo was daydreaming..."
"Hey, you are leaving Rondo behind!" he shouts as he hurries to keep up.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Z'hor'll leads the team back though the cavern... checking at the previous battle to make sure we didn't leave anything there.
not in a hurry, taking 20 on a search for 24
After that, we'll make our way to Uori's cave. If the gillman is still there, Z'hor'll will approach him, gain his attention, and let him know that the mites and the other vileness are gone, so that passage is safe for now. Additionally, he will ask, "I apologize, elder, but have you seen or otherwise sensed anything coming from the far passage? Is there anything that we should be aware of?"
Z'hor'll waits for the gillman's response, thanks him for his time, and leads the team down the other passage. Before we go too far down that passage, he will again request that Victoria cast Shield of Faith on each of us (giving us a Deflection bonus of +3, correct?).

1d6 ⇒ 4...MAP UPDATES UNDER SAME LINK AS BEFORE
The cave’s damp air becomes increasingly stale as you continue down through this tunnel, and as you approach this area, the stench of decay grows increasingly evident. The passage turns to the east and opens into a small cavern littered with bits of broken glass, rotting pieces of paper, and other unusable detritus. A lies face down toward the back of the cavern.
As Aldaeth turns the corner, three walking corpse wearing only a few soiled rags, its flesh rotting off its bones as it stumbles forward, arms outstretched.

the skeleton isn't animated, just the 3 zombie
Aldaeth knows the shambling figures to be zombies, one of the "lowest" firms of unlife there is. They are resilient to attacks, excepts for weapons that slash. They are slow, but hardy for something as unnatural as undead are concerned.
Knowing that they are more a nuisance than a true threat, Aldaeth rushes forward to meet his foe head on, taking a mighty swing and felling it in one blow.
