Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Roll would have been the same for me... bardic knowledge, only.
Z'hor'll, feeling inspired by the halfling's survival as well as her oratory moves up, and fires an arrow at the cube.
inspired attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18 for inspired damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"Hah! No cube of jelly gonna put me in his roll!"
Verrak |
As Rakessi crouches low and growls, Verrak gestures and mumbles briefly. From his outstretched hand, a yellow blob appears and shoots towards the blob
Acid Splash: 1d20 ⇒ 13 vs Touch (not sure if the +1 on attacks counts)
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Then he bolts down the side passage to allow others behind access
Rakessi |
As soon as the path is clear, Rakessi launches forward into a flurry of teeth and claws.
Pounce attack
Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22 - Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
Claw 1: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23 - Damage: 1d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
Claw 2: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13 - Damage: 1d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Victoria Hennessee |
Victoria will move up with her Glaive ready in the event the creature gets past Rakessi.
Rondo Gobbah |
Sorry, busy couple days at work
Rondo also pulls out a flask of alchemist's fire.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
I think we're waiting on Stylz. There may be a little bit of a race condition going on as well... so, we should start moving forward IMHO
DM Stylz |
Rakessi, bounds forward, snarling. He leaps into the jiggling mass of goo and rips at it with all it might and takes a chunk of gooey mass as well. One presumes it has taken a lot if damage, but the overall consultancy of it doesn't reveal much information.
Z'hor and Verrak both take their own shots with their respective means of attack. Both attacks hit, but the amount of damage inflicted is unknown due to the gooeyness.
The blob, hungry and angry, as much as it can be lashes out at beast who has torn at it.
attack vs Rakesi AC 16: 1d20 ⇒ 11d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (2) + (1) = 3 slam+acid...if hit DC 20 fort save it paralyzed for 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1) = 9 rounds
The ooze, small by the standards if it's kind, lashes out but due to its immature state, it just thrashes about wildly.

Round 2 go:
Party, ooze (27 damage taken)
Victoria Hennessee |
Victoria moves up to help Rakessi
glaive, reach, bard, cover: 1d20 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 1 - 4 = 18 for dmg: 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 1 = 12
Well that hits, but assuming no crit on a blob
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
With nothing better to do, Z'hor'll takes another shot.
bow shot: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 2 assuming you add the cover to AC, not that it matters!
DM Stylz |
ooze are not critted
Victoria, rushes up glaive in hand. She takes a powerful swing at the creature and easily connects. The blade, slices through the creature, and she wonder what her strike would do to such a non-jiggly creature. Nonetheless, her hawing is plenty to cause the ooze to dissolves into a puddle.
Meanwhile, Z'hor looses an arrow which sails far overhead and lands about 60 beyond the creature.
While the party takes care of the ooze between them and the strong voice beyond.
COMBAT OVER
Verrak |
Verrak slaps Victoria on the back. Good kill, friend!". He turns to and walks to Rakeesi, then kneels as he scratches behind the beasts eyes. "Yes, I know you did most of the work... " he says, affectionately.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
"Let's not dawdle, here... it sounds like Janira needs our help!"
Z'hor'll quickly checks (perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10) to see if there is anything of note in the goo. He then starts down the tunnel, to find Janira.
DM Stylz |
Rakessi spits out ooze chucks while Victoria gingerly steps around the gunk on the ground. The group goes towards the passage of tunnel and as you approach the eastern end, you can hear Janera's voice, you continue along for another 120 feet of slick, twisting cavern tunnel and pop out into the bright sunlight overhead
After a few moments to become adjusted to the light, you hear Janira's inspiring words, as the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!.

+2 insight bonus on a single check made to perform the aid another action in the next 24 hours.
+1 luck bonus on Fortitude saves against poison
+1 bonus on a single attack roll made against a flanked target within 24 hours
Terrain notes:
These patches of woodland are also filled with underbrush that behaves as light undergrowth (Core Rulebook 426), creating difficult terrain and concealment. The trees are only a few decades old and do not completely occupy their respective squares. A creature that shares a space with one or more trees benefits from partial cover.
The stream is about 10 feet wide and 5 feet deep in this area, and the water moves downstream from east to west at 30 feet per round. Treat this as rough water, which requires a DC 15 Swim check to navigate. A Large creature can walk through the water as though it were difficult terrain with a successful DC 12 Strength check. On a failed Strength check, such a creature is checked and unable to move farther that turn. A 3-foot-diameter tree truck spans the width of the river, creating an impromptu bridge.
The trunk is slippery from the splashing water, and crossing it at half speed requires a successful DC 7 Acrobatics check, during which time the creature is treated as flatfooted for moving on a narrow surface. If the creature fails this check, it falls into the water unless it succeeds at a DC 13 Reflex save, in which case it lands prone on the trunk instead.

Janira, continues to inspire herself, and coincidentally you as well. Seeing she is quicker than the giant cow, she takes a step back and attempts to remove the dangerous large battleaxe from her foes hands.

Her attempts fails, miserably and she looks around hoping to find a glimpse of hope, but doesn't see anything.

Verrak |
Verrak and Rakeesi both take off at a sprint seeing Janira's peril. Verrak runs towards the log yelling to Janira to get over the river, but Rakessi bounds straight toward the lumbering creature.
Full round sprint for both. Verrak will get to the log, and Rakeesi will end one square before the river, so he get a running start for next rounds jump
Victoria Hennessee |
posting ahead, but should not change anything.
Victoria will move (double) straight south from the cave, entering the underbrush.
"Hey bully! Leave her alone! "
Verrak |
Good idea BUT, you cannot run through difficult terrain AND you can only run in a strait line. Please rest on action or I presume you will each double move towards fight :)
Double move towards fight then please
Apologies, I didn't realise there was difficult terrain
Nehyril |
Nehyril advances out of the cavern and blinks as his eyes adjust to the brighter light of day. Seven of them, one minotaur? Good. Vast difference between Janira and reinforcements? Not good.
Nehyril grits his teeth as he moves closer to the river. As he approaches, he lets loose an arrow from his bow. At least he might help provide the bard a nice distraction.
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 (+5 normal,+1 inspire courage, -2 for just outside of range increment) for damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

The group moves up, one by one. Wishing there weren't undergrowth and crap in the way of their final destination. Verrak curses as he wants to run through the brush, but realizes he will be unable to navigate a at such a pace as he wants and stops near the edge of the undergrowth.
The minotaur, laughs at the puny attempt to snatch his weapon and retaliates by raising it high in the air in an a attempt to squash the tiny threat before him.
axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 252d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12
The axe, cuts deep into Janira's shoulder and you see a spray of blood gush. She falls to one knee at the force but slowly rises. You aren't sure if she could take another blow like that.
The remaining few of the party, still in momentary shock move up to face the beast. Nehyril moves up and let's loose an arrow. Between the distance to the beast, even if the size of a barn door, the arrow sails right over the creatures head, but it does get the beasts attention. And you can hear Janira's voice clear as she continues to rally her and her allies.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
"Janira!!! Get out of there!"
Z'hor'll will move out of the cave, and then go straight south in a double move (which should get him to the edge of the brush).
"Hang in there!!! I have your wand, and will save you!"
Rondo Gobbah |
Rondo continues to move towards Janira as quickly as possible.
2nd double move action
Huffing and puffing, Rondo gasps, "Rondo's short legs are not making this easy..."
Mid-stride, Rondo takes a deep breath and yells in Janira's direction, "Move towards the river, Janira.
Nehyril |
Cor!
Nehyril continues to race forward as he notches another arrow. Firing it at the beast, he calls out to it.
"Hey, you overgrown sow! Let's see how you dance. I'm in the mood for beef tonight!"

Janira, looks around to see what has the foul beasts attention, happy to see her students coming to her aid. She decides to take one last attempt at slowing down the beast before retreating. She takes a single step backwards, and throws a bag at the swine hoping to slow it down just enough for her to make an escape.
tangle bag: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 vs AC 9
cow reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 vs DC 15
She throws a bag and it bursts all over the minotaur's legs and feet. Despite its size, it manages to elude the worst of it, but is still hindered by its general gooey nature of the contents.
bag duration: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Rakessi |
Rakessi attempts to cross the river in one bound...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
He lands and continues to run towards the giant beast, and snaps his jaws at his arm as he closes...
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
I assume that acrobatics check gets him across the river :)
Verrak |
Verrak continues to sprint towards the monster, slowing down only slightly as he tries to cross the log
another double move, getting as close to the minotaur as possible
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
DM Stylz |
AOO on Rakessi: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 202d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
dont know where Rakessi was but sure he jumps the river with ease. The only reason I mention it is because Rakessi cannot run thru the green undergrowth
Rakessi, rushes towards Janira. Verrak commands his companion to attack the large beast. His hopes are to draw attention away from Janira. Rakessi leaps across the river with ease but the Minotaur seems to be waiting and takes a mighty swing. It easily connects with the enemy and rips through it. Rakessi, simply vanishes and leaves the material plane.
Rondo Gobbah |
The difficult terrain begins with the green undergrowth, right? Either way, Rondo will need at least another full round move action.
Rondo keeps moving toward Janira as fast as possible.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Z'hor'll seems to be running in slow motion, waiting for what will happen as we all wait for the Minotaur to swing once more at Janira... or will he turn to Rakessi as the larger threat. 'What is Aldeath doing' he wonders... hoping the the GM will put the Aasamir into delay, or "bot" him, while we all wait. He thinks fondly about how he'll be displaying the minotaur's "horn" after this fight!

The Minotaur give a laugh as the four legged beast tries to Harte in for an attack and easily crushes it with its axe. He sees the others gaining ground and tries to fire Janira, to eliminate a threat he he facing.

Z'hor'll moves up, positioning himself for the leap across the water. 'Gotta get close to that thing, but not too close. Maybe I can disarm it with a burst of water?' using Hydraulic bBurst and Hydraulic Maneuver
"Hey, you big bovine oaf! Pick on someone your own size. Like, not one of us, you imbecilic flea-brain! Wait, no, I've fought a flea, and it had more brains than you have! Your mother wore horse-shoes!" He hopes that the taunts will be understood. If so, he thinks a big cow-thing will be laughing, soon.
Victoria Hennessee |
Victoria will again double move to the rivers edge, ready to cross next time.
"Hold on Janira, help is on the way!. "
She had moved the first round so should have been into the rough brush at the start of the round.
DM Stylz |
Victoria, you will be with Aldaeth essentially, unless I am missing something?
The Minotaur, tries to gore the troublesome halfling and end her puny life. The combination of the tar-like goo and Janira's nimbless she narrowly escapes the bovines pointy horns.
The stragglers continue to move up, heavy armor limiting Victoria while Z'hor moves and calls forth his heritage and shoots a blast of water at the pissed off bull, but it splashes harmlessly on his hands. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Neh, moves up and takes aim and fires another arrow. This time, being closer makes a big difference as the arrow strikes the cow in the leg. It still stands, but it certainly has its attention grabbed.
Janira, laughs at the bull and leaves, being careful to evade the creatures reach.
