Homebrew. Caravan caught in Mana Wastes

Silas Warner is the chosen protector of a caravan sent from quantium in Nex to Martel in the Mana Wastes. There are some very important dignitaries that are enroute to Martel. Although the journey has been treacherous, they have come to a grinding halt just 18 miles south of Ecanus where they are currently pinned down by a large band of gun-wielding gnolls. The caravan has closed in to fortify itself the best that it can. Supplies are running low, while casualities increase. Whatever your initial reason was for signing on to the caravan, it hardly seems worth it.

Character Guidelines:

25 point buy
no evil alignments
200 gp staring wealth
Level 1
Dead magic zones=Chaos, so be mindful of your class. Silas is a Holy Gun.

Backstory need only to be enough information to tell why you are on this terrible trip.

Need an avatar and crunch

Core races, unless they can be worked in by story. I'd like to allow the Artificer third-party class as well.

Note: I don't have everything added up but the character is built except for spending 200 gold

Darius:

Darius
Darius, orphaned as a young kid, was raised by the Shield Marshal David Aragon and traveled with him everywhere. Then, while traveling through the wastes to Nex, they were ambushed and killed. a few days later a "prospector" dragged his corpse into Nex and collected a "finder's fee". A crazy witch (of some sorts) cast reincarnate upon his body and brought him back, but as a half-orc. He worked off the debt and signed onto this caravan to head back to Martel where Alkenstar's gun marshals are headquartered. He isn't sure what they will think when told that he, a half-orc, is the (sort of) adopted son of the now dead Shild Marshal David Aragon.
half-orc gunslinger
feats
1st: rapid reload
gslgr 1: gunsmithing
gslgr 1: EWP firearms

Traits

2. law enforcer (from knights of inner sea but just seems to fit character)
S 14 (5 points)
D 16+2 (10 points)
C 10
I 14 (5 points)
W 14 (5 points)

2. survival
3. acrobatics
4. perception
5. intimidate
(6.) climb
(7.) heal

I'm cool with players joining and playing. I want to avoid a western feel, and go with kind of a steampunk/ mechanical fantasy.

I'm going to dmpc Silas, add another npc and the three of us will keep playing until others join. Right now, we are knee deep in dying comrades as armed gnolls are lighting us up with muskets.

Go ahead and finish Darius and I'll activate gameplay.

Finishing up right now.

Just introduce yourself to Silas or Armistad and start killing gnolls. (in Gameplay)

Done and done.

Still looking for more. Flavor, style and RP over mechanics.

Is that with respect to what I posted or with respect to character creation? I originally assumed the former but since this is in recruitment I thought perhaps it is the other.

No Darius, you're good. Just trying to get more players.

I'm going to say instead of a dead magic zone, the wastes are wild magic zones.

Mechanically, here is how it works. Roll a 1d100 ; anything 35 and under is failed magic; 36-89 is normal; 90-100, the magic is doubled in duration. (I hope this works.)

Great name by the way!

I gotta turn in for the night. Hopefully some more will join in by the time I get off work tomorrow...sometime after 1600 est

When Silas Warner came looking for a scout to accompany a caravan across the wastes, Grillik only had one question. "Will there be gnolls to kill?" Silas assured him there would probably be plenty, and Grillik nodded. "Then I'm your man. When do we leave?"

Now, facing down the horde, he smiles a mirthless smile as he cocks another bolt into his crossbow. His double axe sits at his side for when the ammunition runs out.

Crunch in the profile

Welcome aboard Grillik! Find something to take cover and fire away!

Are you still looking for people? I'd be interested

I'd be as well. Have an idea, working on it right now. Just hope a melee combatant can survive the current situation.

Yes, still looking for PCs. Pitch me your concepts.

Idea is for a monk. I would first like to ask you though, are you ok with combining Sohei with Master of Many Styles? Strict RaW they won't work but the conflict comes solely from the fact the Sohei adds a bonus feat option and MoMS replaces the bonus feat options.

It is okay. I play for fun and refer to RAW as much as possible. Fun and flavor trump RAW however. I hope this is okay for everyone.

The character is here, just doing equipment now

Would it be alright if I made an Athasian Bard (non-magical bard)

Heres the variant

Sure ^.^ (one I'm done building my character)

i might join in on this later, gotta see the outcomes of a few other recruitments i have posted in.

Character here, crunch complete just say when I can jump in.

We kind of need you right now. We are getting ready to charge a bunch of gnolls that have been using us for target practice. Apparently, there is also an alchemist. Help.

A Story Teller known as Merrilin goes from town to town as a traveling performer. Sometimes you’ll find him within the home of a lord speaking epics long forgotten, or maybe you will find him at a small inn entertaining the locals or possibly on the streets playing with the children and fascinating them with wonderful tales. His origins are unknown, oh he will be more than happy to tell you where he was born and how he became a traveler, the only problem is the story changes every time. He leaves as suddenly as he appears with a smile on his face and some coins in his pocket.

Merrilin found himself on this expedition while traveling with the Quantium dignitaties. These boring folks need some entertainment while traveling, and Merrelin was the perfect Halfling for the job. Now that the caravan is in trouble Merrelin prepares his weapons.

7) 3x [1sp Inkpen – lbs]
8) 5x [2gp Dagger, 1 lb]
9) 2x [5gp Knife, Switchblade, 1 lb (concealed)]
This knife has a spring-loaded blade hidden inside the handle.
This weapon is treated as a dagger.
Special: This knife can be designed to look like another type of object (a DC 15 Perception check reveals the deception).
Action: If held in your hand, you can activate it as a free action.
10)[4sp 2cp] 1 loaf of bread, 1 hunk of cheese, 1 chunk of meat (1.5 lbs)
11) 2x [40gp Blue Whinnis Venom (One on a switchblade dagger, one in vial, made from craft for 1/3 cost) -- lbs ]

Sounds good? If so may I proceed to combat?

^ 3 mistakes

1) swap the STR and CON
2) ignore the Venom not on the dagger and subsequently 40 gp added
3) Take off 1 of the regular daggers and add a Short Sword, raising amount spent by and weight by 1 lb.
