You recall hearing something in a class about medusae and "writhing". Maybe this is one of those.

Irdril:

This is some kind of ooze. They are acidic and harm the weapons and armor of those fighting them. You also think acid and slashing damage will do no harm to it.
As Kanzen is about to learn.

Eddrikk stands still, shocked that such an odd thing could be such a deadly hazard!

Galinndan slashes at the pudding with his magic blade but it merely divides into two more puddings which lash out at those around them! Magic shortsword, yes? No corrosion.

Seeing Galinndan's lack of success, Kanzen opts not to slash twice at the pudding in front of him... But the puddings are less pacifistic and more HUNGRY! One lashes out at Galindan but misses the dodgy elf. The other attacks Galenus and breaks through the Dwarf's weakened armor! The one near Galenus keeps burning from Cyrus' fiery attack.

7 bludgeoning and 21 acid to Galenus! Another -1 permanent penalty to your armor! Party, GO!

Kanzen and Cyrus nearly finish off one of the oozes while Eddrikk leaps into the fray and pulls Galenus to his feet and toward safety. But the oozes move forward to attack again!

Galinndan needs to make a death saving throw. Cyrus, Kanzen, and Eddrikk may act this round. Galinndan is in a lot of trouble. Unless killed or distracted, the black pudding will go after the unconscious food.

Kanzen runs forward, grabbing hold of the unconscious Galinndan and dragging him away from the ooze. He then interposes his body between the creature and the elf.With rough calcultions I should be able to double move up to him, then drag him back behind Eddrikk... Assuming there's an AoO in there for me too.

I'm not sure how you can pull that off, Kanzen, as the ooze is on the other side of Galinndan. Do you mean to leap over it or run around through a different tunnel?

Given Glabbagool's warning, I'll assume you're trying to parkour over the black pudding. I'll allow it with an AoO for rule of cool.

Eddrikk, whom are you healing? You're not in reach of Galinndan. Let's assume that's for Galenus.

Kanzen leaps nimbly off the wall and over the ooze! It strikes him as he goes (25 damage, -1 to the ac of your armor). Then he stands brave in front of it and the ooze strikes out again! It nearly penetrates his weakened armor but Kanzen barely leaps over its pseudopods!

Folks, let's pay a little more attention to the map. Galinndan is out of range of healing word and the dwarves are blocking Glabbagool from moving to help. I moved the dwarves out of the way, Glabbagool went to help, and I moved Irdril into range for healing word.
