Pliinki, the derro savant, laughs at you spitefully. She believes the obelisk was hidden here by Diirinka, the derro god, and that it contains “unimaginable power.” Pliinki and her fellow savants hope to harness the obelisk’s power and use it to conquer Gracklstugh. "No one is my master but Demogorgon! And I will never tell you anything more!"

Per the spell description, she certainly recognizes you as an enemy and doesn't feel a need to be particularly helpful. But there's some information there. Good idea, Irdril.


Yea I read the spell and figured it was still worth a shot.

I had to roll the saves so I could tell you the effects and describe what is going on. Cyrus, Eddrikk, and Galinndan gain a level of madness. Track this under conditions.

Cyrus:

You experience vivid hallucinations. Dragons swirl all around you, attacking you and your friends.

Disadvantage on ability checks for a few minutes but you see through the hallucinations enough to still fight.

Galinndan:

Suddenly you see enemies all around you!

You must attack the nearest creature every turn. It's up to you how hard you attack.

Huh. You're right Kanzen. Somehow, I missed that you could go. But don't forget you're frightened by the quasit! Go ahead and go twice now.

Cyrus launches a shaft into the approaching demon, who grunts hellishly in pain. The demon begins ascending the mesa while the flying bat like creature flies forward and bites at Kanzen!

Kanzen is bitten (5 damage) but manages to shake off the creature's poison. The dretch climbing the mesa gets closer and soon Irdril, Kanzen, and Cyrus are all hacking and coughing at the stench of it! The tiefling and the drow manage to shake off the scent but the goblin, the one most likely inured to such odors (besides the dwarf), succumbs!

Cyrus is poisoned until the start of his next turn. In addition, he can take an action or a bonus action but not both and no reactions. Party, GO!


Irdril fires at the remaining stinky guy.

Kanzen drops his bow, quickly drawing one of his blades, and takes a terrified swing at the evil-looking creature floating around him! Last round, free to drop the bow, interact object to draw one sword, then action to attack? That work?

However, the drow is obviously so scared that he can't focus his mind well enough to land the strike! Desperate, he then draws his second sword and swings twice more.

Galenus, just fyi it doesn't take an action to maintain a grapple in 5e. It's automatically maintained until the grappled creature makes an opposed roll to break out.
