DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Just the natural surroundings of rock and cliffsides. The gate itself is the only physical thing blocking the road that leads into the cavern proper.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

That is old school.. wow... Awesome. Time is as much of a factor as your characters think it is. They have been in there a while as it is.. You have only 2 hours til sundown.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith helps Macomb camoflague the vehicle so that it is harder to see from the sky by helicopters.
Afterwards he picks a good spot set off on targeting one of the sentries after the sun goes down.
He sets up an ambush for the sentry so that he can slit his throat.
Ambush 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Due to my night training, the enemy gets a -2
When the enemy's back is turned Smith leaps from out of the shadows like a cat and plunges his Gerber Mk2 dagger deep into the Russian neck.

Macomb and Smith spend some time finding a suitable place to hide the truck, looking for an outcropping or some crevice, but it is difficult, especially without alerting the guards at the gate. They finally find a place that seems to do well enough for the time being.
As night falls, Smith makes his way towards one of the patrols and starts his assault.
Roll initiative, everyone gets a +2 due to a successful Ambush. Then post surprise round actions. Smith just has to roll his attack.

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

As Smith leaps out from the shadows and strikes high on the Russian with his knife. Macomb delivers a stab with his switchblade into the Russians back hoping to pierce the lung and deprive the Russian from a powerful voice.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15 if hit damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The switchblade has the following weapon qualities which may apply.
Page 301
AP (3) Armor Piercing negates 3 points of DR or Damage Save
Bleed: Requires a Reflex Save DC = Damage inflicted before DR.
If failed the victim is bleeding. DC increased by 10 if the attack caused 1 or more Wound Points of damage.
Bleeding is described on page 340
Bleeding: At the end of each round while bleeding, a character
suffers 1 point of subdual damage. If the character takes 1 or
more attack or movement actions during the round, he suffers
1d4 lethal damage instead. This condition is eliminated with a

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 forgot my init
Also forgot that Macomb has Mobile Offense which grants a Final Attack if I moved. so the second attack is below.

So to review my actions this round where Standard Move 1/2 Action

That second attack was garbage. If the Russian is still standing after my first attack I will use Accurate to boost my attack. It lets me roll 2 dice for spending an action dice.

The reporter draws the pistol he was given and takes aim, but does not shoot, hoping that Smith and Macomb can silence the two soldiers before he needs to use it. As Smith closes in, Macomb jumps into action and cuts the first soldier down in two swift strokes. This unnerves Smith whose attack catches the other soldier in his ammo sling rather than the neck he was going for.
Due to Initiative rolls, I moved some things around timewise, but Macomb does use his action die to make that final attack. It technically should take place before your Standard Attack, but I rearranged the rolls to make that happen. I then applied Smith's attack to the second soldier so you wouldn't waste it.
Initiative for round 1:
Majors (24)
Macomb (19)
Smith (11)
Soldier 2 (5)
Soldier 1 (Dead)
Party Up!!

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Place all of this after Majors action. Not sure what he is going to do yet.
Feeling his strikes hit home Macomb turns to take out the second guard.
Didn't realize there were 2. Yikes!
Macomb makes two stabs with his switchblade trying to quickly silence the remaining guard before he can cry out.
Attack1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Again with -3 to the Damage Save due to AP 3
Hopefully the bleeding part doesn't matter again.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith is there to finish the job with two swipes as well,
Attack1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23

Unless Macomb and/or Majors has taken the enemy soldier down already, in that case Smith will drag the dead bodies to a spot with some cover and uses his tracking skill to cover up and blood on the ground and the drag marks 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 = 17

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

The reporter seeing that the other two man have the situation in hand just keeps his gun aiming in their general direction, but you can tell he is getting nervous.

Soldier 2 Dmg Save v. DC19: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 1 = 18
Tough guy!
Macomb's first strike misses, but his second does not. A look of surprise appears on the soldier's face but he doesn't get a chance to react as Smith stabs his kidney and then cuts his throat, silencing him forever.
Majors slowly puts away his gun and helps drag the bodies away into some brush and then watches as Smith cleans up the tracks. "Smart"., he whispers.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith says, "In war, the small things are the ones that can you killed more often than the big ones."
Smith points Macomb to the two enemy soldiers, dead and says in Russian "Товарищ, мы должны носить эти мужские формы, для того, чтобы не привлечь к себе внимание издалека?"
Notice 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 on Majors to see if he understands.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Majors looks at the two of you and puts his hands up in a shrugging motion. "Look, it's great that you guys speak Russian, but mine is limited. What's going on? Are we okay? I don't think they heard us."

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

The reporter apprehensively nods. "I'm not sure I like this idea, but as you said, you're the pros. I'm just here for the story. Just... Promise me you won't offer me up for sacrifice later?" With that, he gives a slight smile and then allows you to do what you need to in order to make this work. As in Falsify/Disguise checks if you take your time or if you do it fast, I roll it...

Timothy K Smith |

Smith wraps Majors in a loose knot behind his back that he could easily get free and slips a Makarov pistol in Major's belt behind him within easy reach of the reporter.

The three of you approach the gate and the four that are manning look astonished. "Hey! Found another snooper, eh tovarishchi?", one of them calls out. "No wonder you're fifteen minutes late. Take him to the front, Captain will want to see him." He gestures to one of the other soldiers who operates the crank for opening the gate and allows you through. "Maybe he'll let you keep your prize," he says as he points towards the rifle on Macomb's back.
You walk through the canyon towards the main entrance. The facility seems to be dug into the side of the mountain here, with metal supports and struts everywhere. The guards stand aside as you march through the main entrance. The inside of this place looks like a hangar more than anything. It is wide open and contains at least a platoon of soldiers and probably just as many technicians of some kind. In the very center is what looks to be a large blue storage container held aloft by several cranes. It is marked in Russian as 'FOB'. It doesn't take you long to spot the captain's makeshift office, a large desk surrounded by several technicians, soldiers and driven by a man that looks very perturbed at all of them.
"I don't care! The experiment will continue! Damn the DPRA and damn this 'invasion.' I am not out here in the middle of Hell stomping around for nothing. The Senior Director will get his troops and he will get them when I say they are ready, not a moment sooner! Now get out of my sight and get back to work. All of you!" He slams his fist on the desk as if to emphasize his point. You notice Majors shudder a little.
"Now what?", the reporter whispers.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Sorry, different one. I would have said that you recognized him if you had. Thanks for checking though.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith gives the appropriate salute due to the rank insignia he is wearing vis a vis the Captain and says, "Товарищ капитан, мы нашли этот человек перехвата у ворот, и он нес это оружие. Он может быть прекрасным человеком для вашего проекта."

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

The Soviet Captain, his forehead vein bulging, looks at the three of you incredulously. "Is that so? What project would that be soldier? Hmm?" He walks over to you, not bothering to salute you back so you have to hold it, looks down at Majors, puts a hand under the reporter's chin and then punches him in the face with the other. Majors grunts a bit, but it seems he has taken hits like this before, the way he spits out the blood on the floor. "Well? Speak up. What project?"
Ouch, Error on the Bluff roll. Decided not to activate it because he almost erred on the Sense Motive roll too.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Smith Bluff/Deception: 1d20 + 0 - 6 ⇒ (2) + 0 - 6 = -4
Captain Sense Motive/Detect Lie: 1d20 + 5 - 6 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 6 - 4 = 11
The Captain, Korsikov as his nameplate states, seems unmoved. He simply shrugs, signals some other guards to come over. "Take all three of them to the chamber. Strip them down. I want nothing on them. Nothing! General Secretary help you if you screw this up!"
With that, the guards come closer to take you into custody...
Paizo dice are not good today.. That and Smith isn't the best liar ;-)... So what will it be boys? Go along or fight it out...

Timothy K Smith |

Smith not taking this at all lightly, with his left finger on the trigger of the AK already (he is left handed) says, "Stoi!!!!" with the Kalashnikov pointed directly at the head of the Captain and continues calmly, "КГБ, по словам главы станции Карачи, у вас есть родинка, и мы здесь, чтобы истребить его. Это происходит от высшей власти введен в действие как товарища Брежнева и Андропова. Если вы получаете ближе к моему товарищу и я, мы устраним вас."
Smith then moves and says as he pulls out the notebooks that he had gotten in Karachi from the woman he interrogated and the names therein, while still pointing the strapped AK straight at the Captain and then continues smoothly, "Товарищ капитан, даже если вы не верите мне, наши контакты на станции Карачи действительно подлинными и написаны в этой книге. Итак, позвольте мне представить себя должным образом, я майор Сергей Максимович Долохов и мой коллега капитан России Алексеевич Суворов."
If anyone acts hostile towards him, Macomb or even Majors, Smith will kill the Captain with a three round burst at point blank range. The rifle is on a sling.

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Captain Rushan Alekseivich Suverov Razor maintained a causal grip on the prisoner as Major Sergei Smith switched his attention to Captain Korsikov Commie Scum . Rushan glared at the approaching soldiers daring them to continue their approach as he pulled up his AK-47 with his right hand. His left hand on the bonds of the captive.
Very coolly Rushan says Стоп! Отойдите или так или иначе это заканчивается очень плохо для вас и ваших семей.

Soldiers Resolve/Resist Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Intimidate/Dominate is usually a secret check, but it's fine in this case because getting the soldiers to stop in this case is more of a Coercion rather than increasing their Disposition temporarily.
The soldiers seem unmoved, though the AK-47s pointed in their direction give them slight pause. The Captain is unfazed. "KGB is it? Interesting." That's when you notice the KGB-GRU pin on his collar. "Kill them." He goes for Smith's weapon...

Round Order

Soldier 3 (21)
Macomb (20)
Soldier 2 (18)
Majors (17)
Soldier 1 (10)
Soldier 4 (7)
Smith's Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) = 5
Smith's Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6) = 12
Total damage done= 52
The captain rushes for Smith's gun, but the old soldier's trained reflexes were faster than the desk pilot's, a couple twitches of his finger sent several rounds of 7.62mm FMJ barreling towards the officer's head at a velocity of 715m/s and they didn't have far to go, so they hit hard. The head of the former KGB officer turned into the equivalent of spilled borscht as his body limply fell to the ground...
Soldier 3 Morale: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Seeing his base commander shot to death right in front of him, one of the soldiers slowly lowers his weapon as his jaw and most of his body goes slack.
Macomb up!

Timothy K Smith |

Smith quickly says to the enemy soldiers in a shout like a hard nosed Russian drill instructor, "Предатель мертв! Товарищи, падение ваше оружие!"
This is just to give another enemy pause but Mac liquidate some commies, would ya! :)

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Razor throws the prisoner to the floor on top of the fallen captain and braces his AK-47 with both hands. Seeing that the guard closest to the Captain has lowered his weapon he pivots pointing his gun at the next closest guard Guard2 and lets go a 3-round burst into the man.
StandardAttackBurst: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage1: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) = 17
Damage2: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5) = 15
Damage3: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) = 9
Macomb after firing his first burst moves to take a defensive position behind the Captain's desk diving over the top and bringing his AK-47 up to fire out a second burst of fire directed towards a different guard Guard2
StandardAttackBurst: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage1: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5) = 12
Damage2: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6
Damage3: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6) = 16
Macomb Initiative falls to 18. But hopefully the desk provides some cover. I also threw Majors right on top of the dead captain so he is out of the fire path and may use something on the Captain to get free and grab his gun.
Macomb from behind the desk shouted.
Товарищи не тратить свою жизнь и жизнь вашей семьи. Предательская Капитан был нанесен с. КГБ имел дело с ним. Если вы бросайте оружие, мы можем доказать, что мы говорим без дальнейших потерянных жизней.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

I presume you meant Guard 1 or 4, since your first burst was to Guard 2 already...

Majors Shot v. Guard 4: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Soldier 4 Morale: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Macomb opens fire on two of the guards as he dives for cover, dropping both in a few seconds. Majors manages to free himself and grab his pistol, but his lack of training is obvious as the shot only manages to catch a piece of steel piping on one of the cranes holding up the container.
A moment of indecision crosses the last soldier's face. He takes a quick glance at his other still standing companion and then makes haste to the nearest cover, behind one of the cranes.
Round Order

3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6) = 15
If he isn't down he fires another 3 round burst in his direction 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 if hit
3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) = 10

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Soldier 4 Damage Save v. DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Soldier 4 Damage Save v. DC 22: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Soldier 3 Morale: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Smith let's rip another burst into the soldier than ran to cover. The soldier was quick, but Smith's rounds tore through his leg and he went down with a thud.
The last soldier, seeing his comrades fall, decides discretion is the better part of valor, slings his weapon and turns toward the approaching group of soldiers and runs...
Macomb up!

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Razor deciding that the several bodies of Russian soldiers on the floor might spoil any attempt at bluff their way out of the situation decides that they are fully committed to their current course of action.
Looking around he notices several cranes supporting a shipping container. He decides that he will attempt to cause mass chaos by using a crane to lower the shipping container.
He decides to make a break towards the closet crane moving quickly from obstacle to obstacle. He stops behind an obstacle to let loose a 3-round burst into the back of the retreating guard.
Razor will use the full round action move Defensively which enables him to take a standard move action and gain +4 to his defense.
Combat Mobility - increases the movement of this standard move action to 60'
Mobile Offense - Allows a final attack during this standard move action.
Using the 3-round burst with the final attack.
StandardAttackBurst: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage1: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) = 9
Damage2: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) = 13
Damage3: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6
So Johnny can move 60' towards a crane. If he can get in driver seat this turn he will otherwise he will use the crane for cover.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Gonna have to activate that one.. 4GC dice remain. Macomb's weapon jams, will take a full round action to clear it. You make it to the crane but will take a move to get into the seat and ready it to move.
Macomb makes bolts for the crane, diving for cover as he lets loose with a burst from the AK-47 in his hands. The heat from all the firing must have altered the chamber as instead he hears a distinct 'Kachunk' sound. The weapon jammed.
At Smith's command, Majors sees an opportunity and takes off towards the opening to the cave.
Out of combat for 7 turns, you have that many rounds of actions to attempt before the shooting starts. GO!

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Macomb pointed his AK47 and pulls the trigger as he ran. His stomach dropped as he heard a "Kachunk" sound indicating a weapon jam.
F#$%! He shouted in English before he could stop himself.
Once he reached the crane he took a quick look around. He decides to attempt his plan with crane before clearing the weapon. He slings the weapon over his shoulder and clanks against his FN sniper rifle. With both weapons slung over his shoulder its a difficult climb into the driver's seat but Macomb makes it up there.
