I've moved myself in the map near the deveil we're talking to. But I think I'm not the only one there.
What wonders me is that the devil hasn't attacked us yet.
Devil, why can't nobody pass? This place is a temple, so people are supposed to come and preach, no?
Chyras LeBlanc
|
"It's a devil. If it's guarding a temple, i'm betting my chances of dis being a temple of evil."
Who's carrying the oils of bless weapon?
Sele is not going to have troubles with it, but maybe Kenji would like to have it, a monk's fist counts as manufactured weapon for those purposes.
Staying behind the others, Chyras quietly casts guidance on everyone.
Kenji Nishida
|
elementals on the walls? a temple of elemental evil, perhaps? lol
Kenji shrugs... "Most likely an evil place... I'd think you'd want to cleanse it, Sele." Kenji readies himself for a fight.
Keera Airbornt
|
Keera looks at Sele, waiting until he raises his sowrd to act.
Guys, can you move yourselves in the map? I'm the only one near the devil
Sele the Thorn
|
Sele will move towards the devil 30 ft using smite evil and drawing his great sword along the aay. If he can he will attack

I've taken the liberty of moving you all up.

Chyras casts summon monster for a celestial giant spider.
Web, rt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
It is webbed/entangled, requiring a DC 12 escape artist, or DC 12 str check to break. Since it's the one webbed, it takes a -4 penalty on the str check, unless it lands for solid footing.
Kenji Nishida
|
Kenji applies the bless weapon oil to his fists. "Hold it off Sele, I'll be at your side in a moment."
Keera Airbornt
|
Keera casts bull's strengh on Sobrino and sends him to flank with Sele.
Help Sele Sobrino!
Yes the guy who's fighting and has a strange face, but don't say that aloud.
Sobrino´s bite, flank: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 131d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10
Then she turns to Sele; I'm sorry, he hasn't used to work with different races yet.
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Very sorry, somehow didn't grasp that everybody'd gone.
A surprising combination of muscle and grace allows the devil to easily escape the webbing (automatic success on Escape Artist). Still, he's been deprived of precious time.
"NONE SHALL PASS!" He bellows again.

Vassago Ilsidore

Vassago channels what little moisture there is and turns it into a spear of water that he then hurls at the strange demon!
move action to Gather Power for an Empowered blast

In a spectacle certain to fascinate theologians for centuries to come, Kenji grabs the devil and takes him down with him! By the time they land, I'm going to say that the fiend is thoroughly unconscious.
Another triumph!
Chyras LeBlanc
|
Chyras softly whistles at the sudden jump & submission grab.
"Now dat's someting new. An impressive action."
"Wouldn't we benefit from questioning dis ting?
You know, about what's in de building."
Sele the Thorn
|
Sele moves into a more relaxed pose
"I suppose but how are we going to restrain it.. will rope work?"
Sele looks it over to see of it has sharp bits that would cut ropes
Chyras LeBlanc
|
"Maybe, or 'e could 'old it in place, and if de devil tries anyting smart, your big sword can send it to its masters, and explain its failure."
Kenji Nishida
|
Kenji keeps a tight hold on the unresponsive creature until a decision is made whether to revive and question it or not.
Keera Airbornt
|
Come to my side Sobrino. My friends doesn't want to kill that creature. Yet calls Keera her comanion.

In addition to their obvious ability to fly, this order of beings can teleport from place to place at will (makes you wonder why this one didn't try that).
Keera Airbornt
|
this kind of creatures can teleport at will and I'm ot sure if they can even pinned so, why risk at all? Sele, chop it's head of an let's go on
Despite her words, Keera calls Sobrino to her side, so the roc doesn't continue bitting the devil. And wait to see if the paladín agrees with her.
Kenji Nishida
|
"Maybe teleportation doesn't work in here... or the creature might be bound to this place and couldn't use that ability... whatever the reason, I concur, Keera, we need to put it down permanently. Sele, would you do the honors please? or should I?"
Sele the Thorn
|
"I concur.. I see no way to stop it and it is placed as a guardian which will most likely compel it to fight til it can't"
With that Sele will deliver a Coup de Grace attack to the Devil and finish it off.
"May Milani's grace bless your journey so that you may find peace."

The fortress is your oyster (kinda). Where to now? You can go forward, up the stairs in the foyer, or into the little room on the other side of the secret passage.
Sele the Thorn
|
Good idea
Sele moves back to the bypassed room and opens the door
Kenji Nishida
|
"Aye, we shouldn't leave any areas behind us from which we could be flanked." Kenji follows close on Sele's shadow.
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Chyras, I assume your eagles are gone now that you've summoned the spider? You actually should have had to dismiss the former before summoning the latter - or was one of them a summon monster spell, rather than spell-like ability?
Although formerly full of finery, this large hall has been completely ransacked. Scarlet drapes lie in tatters on the floor, obsidian pedestals are smashed, and shards of red and black clay cover the floor. The southeast corner is the only exception—a large table sits there undisturbed. On it, the cultists have reconstructed an idol of Moloch: a large, armored flame creature with the head of a bull. Three torches line the chamber, but they are near the end of their lives now, casting only dim light. As a result, it is easier to see (as some of you surely do) the light shining through the viewport from the secret passageway, which is concealed as part of a torch sconce.
Otherwise, there's really nothing in here.
Sele the Thorn
|
Sele opens the secret door if he can if not he resorts to bashing it
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
It's only a viewport, not a doorway - it hardly matters, however, since it's just the same secret passage you fought the evil sorcerer in.
Kenji Nishida
|
"Thanks.. wasn't quite sure it would work when I started it... got lucky."
Chyras LeBlanc
|
I'll just spoiler that, if we didn't discover the sorcerer the way we did, he'd conjure a harmless image of a skeletal warrior to try and scare us away, in this room.
Chyras LeBlanc
|
"Now...shall we see what resides inside that big building?"
With the creature from the fiery planes guarding a building, Chyras takes precaution, and reads from a scroll, casting endure elements on himself.
"Devils like warm places, i'm not taking chances."
Sele the Thorn

Back to the other building then..

By the way, did you decide to loot the armory across the way?
The bridge leads to the second part of the citadel, which looks like a giant stone bonfire from the outside. Inside, the walls are of thick stone covered with plaster with 20-foot high ceilings. It is still very hot.
The red glow of lava dimly lights this vast room. Rivulets of molten rock thread the hall’s floor, fed by streams of lava flowing down the walls. Four enormous forges are spaced evenly around the room, with large hammers, bellows, anvils, and tanks of water dripping on the lava below. A circular ramp rises gently near the center of the room, looping above the lava channels before disappearing into the gloom above. This room is actually well-ventilated, providing some relief from the oppressive heat of the rest of the fortress.
Otherwise, the room is dominated by the noise of hammering, which comes from its sole occupant - a Dwarf forging a spear point. He doesn't seem to notice you - yet.
What do you do?
Sele the Thorn

Move to where I feel he can't see me and use detect evil on him
Paladin detect evil 1 round works like 3 rnds of focusing on a target with the spell

Sele sees no true Evil in the Dwarf's heart, and introduces the party. The Dwarf turns slowly around and looks the party over with his one eye, a wickedly-gleaming pinpoint. He smiles and bows obsequiously.
"Greetings to you. I am Vulcus, smith on retainer to Mistress Hafshi *giggle*. If ye are here to fight the Molocheans, then I suppose we have a problem. Mistress Hafshi bought my loyalty in the slave market, when I swore that I would help fuel her cause if she bought my freedom *giggle*. Which she did. It is my obligation as part of my duties to stop you, you know."
The smith stares at you. It is hard to tell underneath all that beard, but you think he's biting his lip.
"She did not buy my loyalty for much, though." He grumbles.
Keera Airbornt
|
Really? So that Mistress Hafshi asked a smith to stop those who dispatched a Magaav? Your skills should be impresionant.
Or your Mistress' interest in your well being is veeeery low? She adds with a smile.
Also, as we are stopped right here and we're not making attemps to go past you, we can talk a little, don't you think?
I'm specially interested in who's that Mistress Hafshi? Besides your former owner, of course
Sele the Thorn
