Setting out at a decent pace, you find yourselves on the road headed towards the old ranch you found before.

Just as you turn on the road towards the ranch, Scab thinks he sees a glint of something shiny in the dista--kra-KOOOWW!!!

Ambush!!

Edward's shoulder plate rings as a massive bullet smacks into it, tearing a hole in the reinforced body suit. Edward and Scab know that only armor piercing rounds could punch a hole in this kind of armor, and that size Scab and Edward both know from history books: .50 caliber, the mother of all bullets. Oh, and Edward is bleeding.

Damage: 2d12 ⇒ (3, 9) = 12 No DR this time around!

The ambushers take another shot, this one aimed at the other human in the group. Thankfully, his aim is a little off, but Marcel can feel the air pressure change beside his head as the bullet flies past him.

GM Rolls:

"ADVANCE, FULL PACE! FOLLOW! ENGAGE AND SUPPRESS!"

Marcel draws his switchblade then sprints pell-mell towards the rifleman, moving like lightning to stand over him, blade ready. "Fire again, I dare ya."

Use the Run full-round action to move at least 100ft and get within you-shoot-I-get-an-AOO range.

Scab moves forward as best his feet can take him (30ft) and takes a shot with his pistol, dialing up the power to max.

damage treated as Large versus DR, range is within my first increment so no penalty.

Edward moves forward 20', unslinging his laser rifle while his auto-healing armor mod kicks in.

Nope, no cover for you. The sniper on the other hand....

As Marcel runs up to the sniper, he sees the improvised cover your ambusher has set up, something of a lean-to with a piece of cloth to cover the entrance. The barrel sticking out of the cloth and the scope attached are dead giveaways. Oh, and the armored sniper is there too.

He seems to be wearing a gas mask of sorts with a black hood over his head, the rest of his body covered in a cloak. He tries to flee as Marcel bounds over the berm, not realizing how quickly Marcel was running.

Marcel's AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Miss

Marcel's footing is off and he swings too high, giving the sniper a chance to flee. Scab's explosive shot hits the hill beside him in a cascade of plasma and shrapnel, the rubble falling in the wake.

Luck is on your side as Edward's laser rifle scores a direct hit on the assailant, striking him in the shoulder, the armor burning away as the laser burns flesh underneath.

Marcel:
Your sniper grunts in pain and you find out your attacker is female. Or a very girly man.

Marcel: 20ft away
Edward: 100ft away
Scab: 90ft away

Marcel shakes his head and keeps pace with the sniper, moving around in front of her. He brandishes his blade. "Ma'am, you've lost distance and cover. Throw your weapons away and drop to the ground and this might not end with you in that ditch." Keeping one eye on her, he scans the horizon.

Move 30ft to get in front of her, ready an action to attack her if she does anything except surrender.
Perception to search for other threats- 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Edward continues his slow and implacable walk, firing again as he approaches.

Move 20', shoot again, LoH for healing.

The assailant certainly does throw her weapon, but not down. Up! She flips the weapon on end and grabs the barrel, using the receiver as the end of a club!

To Hit vs Marcel AC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Ignore DR for now.

Ouch! That'll knock the wind out of you!

Free Combat Maneuver: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Marcel hits the ground after getting the wind knocked out of him by a 30lb hunk of steel!

The sniper keeps running, hoping to outrun her targets, but they seem to be catching up. A bolt of plasma and a beam of light strike their targets, burning away more of the cloak to show an insignia on a suit of black combat armor. Know: Local for info about that insignia.

Scab's explosive shot throws the sniper on the ground from the force of the blast...and they don't seem to be moving... Combat Over.

"A foolish decision, she failed her kill-shot yet continued to fire on superior numbers. Too bad we couldn't take her alive, I assume an interrogation would have yielded actionable intel."

Edward let's his armor's self-repair technology patch itself up, after it fixed his own wounds.

"Do we recognize the insignia? And did she carry anything of value other than her rifle and armor?"

no know:local unless that was subbed out for science engineering or wastes, but i DO have:

heal DC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 to stabilize her if she is still able to be stabilized (as in not at -CON HP).

Marcel grits his teeth as stars spin for a moment, then moves warily over to the woman's body, knife still drawn.
