Edwards is greeted by Richards. "There you are. Good to see you're keeping out of trouble. I heard you were working with a few civilians for the Super Mutants."
"Well, what you do in your free time is up to you. There is a matter we need to discuss.
Richards leads Edwards into his office. "As you've no doubt heard, I'm stepping down as a member of the Council. And don't worry, my replacement will be a valued member. And no, its not you." He chuckles. "I have better plans for you. Usually, there is a big ceremony, but we don't have time."
Richards reaches under his desk and pulls out a small paint set. "Part of an old ceremony would involve decorating an officer's uniform. What we do is similar."
Richards starts painting a few designs on Edwards' armor, looking like an old fashioned military rank insignia. "From here, tell me what you want."
You're getting promoted! You're getting your own insignia and armor design. And you actually get the title of Paladin now!

Annabell will spend some time training Tandon to do some parlor tricks so that he will no be feared by any children in the town. She will pet his coat, slightly frustrated that he will no behave himself as he is more intrigued by the twirly things on the roofs and other things that go beep.

While Tanden doesn't learn how to roll over or play dead, the people who look to Tanden don't see a monster, but a pet. It happens.
As Scab enters the Oodo Inn, he hears a loud, squishy cracking sound comes from John Henry's office. The receptionist doesn't react. "Henry will see you now."
In John Henry's office, there is a dead body of a human in the corner with the heart torn out. John is working a coffee grinder as Scab enters.
"Ah! There's one of my favorite Ghouls! Hey, I just got a bloodbrew going. Stay for a cup!
"There was one problem with the engine when my team got there. We saw evidence of another team that would have shown up before we did. From the footprints, they were wearing power armor, but not the same as the Brotherhood. Any idea who it would have been?
"Doesn't matter. We got the engine! My guys are taking it to get repaired with our head engineer. I think you met him before. Adam?
"Oh! Almost forgot!" John Henry pulls a big bag of caps out. "Split that among your friends. I even threw in a few coupons for a free tuneup at Adam's shop."
There is 1200 caps for each member and a free +1 enchantment to one weapon that does not have the Post-War quality.
John holds a mug of coffee for Scab. "Bloodbrew?"

"No thanks... never got used to the stuff" Scab says uneasily. "Kinda used to be human once and all, heh. Not sure about the power armor footprints. More than one set? One of our guys wears power armor."
Scab takes the bag of caps and coupons.
"Adam, I think we met briefly. Let me know if you need help on that engine, heh. Pleasure working with you all. Don't hesitate to give us a holler if you are looking for some capable trigger fingers."
The Nameless GM
"There was more than one set, and they were of different kinds. They didn't look like T-45d sets. Still, I'll keep you guys in mind. See ya later!"
John Henry stays in his office as Scab leaves. When Scab leaves, the receptionist says, "have a good day."
------
Richards starts getting a design set up on the armor. When he's done, he holds up a mirror for Edward to see. "What do you think?" With wings behind it, of course. If anyone is any good with photoshop or something to make the image more real, go for it.

As Annabell is wondering the city, she starts to hear something familiar.
"And he sayeth unto man, 'Live for the morrow, and let not your trespasses press against you!'" It's a line from the Holy Writing of the Marshes, the holy text of the Swamp Druids. And that voice is familiar too.
Turning the corner, she sees Brother Kaleb preaching in the town square. As he see Annabell, he gets off the wooden crate he was standing on to run over to her.
"Sister Annabell! Good to see you again! How has your walkabout gone?"
"Sister Annabell, it's happened!" Kaleb rolls back his sleeve on his robe and she sees that his arm is starting to loose skin. "My transformation has begun! I'm on my way to Nirvana! It'll be a few more weeks, but when my eyes glaze over, I may as well be one with the Marshes!"
"Oh, Father Ahab wanted to speak with you when you came back. He's back in the camp. He said to bring some people you trust. I think it was something to do with the Cave." The Cave is a Vault the Swamp Druids found and worship as a holy place.
"I must return to my post. Good luck, Sister." Brother Kaleb gets back on his Abraxo crate to continue preaching.
Knight-Brother Edward Monroe
"So, what's this mission entail? I am currently without assignment, and the council is not going to meet again until the Star Paladin has been decided upon. Consider me at your service until otherwise ordered."
Without his helmet, Edward seems too young and soft for the wasteland, yet he still keeps his weapons nearby and eyes on the entrances, even as he sits and eats lizard gumbo with his comrades.
"By the way, I have been awarded the title Paladin, now. See my new sigil?" He turns and shows off the winged sword over cog image painted on his pauldron.
Vincent "Scab"
"cool sigil. What's it mean? Also later, remind me to hand over the caps I got from the supes.when there arent so many eyes around."
Knight-Brother Edward Monroe
"The cog represents the Brotherhood, for that is the core of my belief and basis for most of my actions. The wings elevate, and bring height and change, while the blade represents my martial skill and dedication to the right. I would hardly consider myself arrogant, and if I have offended you, 'Crispy', I apologize sincerely."
Marcel the Wise
"An artistic tin man? That's new." Marcel saunters into the shop and takes a seat. "Don't know what your pals wanted, Monroe, but they didn't get it out of me; asking me about the mission. Did we get the caps? Anything planned next? Apart from a market trip."
Vincent "Scab"
"We got some caps, i just figured against brandishing them about around here." If the group is alone he will pull them out and divide them up equally.
Knight-Brother Edward Monroe
"Normally I would share your sentiment, Scab. But here in Old Orleans, with this group, I think one would be most foolhardy to attempt to rob us. Stranger things have happened, though."
At Marcel's mention of the sigil, Edward grins. "I think Annabell was just mentioning a possible mission into the swamps."
Marcel the Wise
I gotta admit, not sure what Lilith has received is enough of a lead to make us tramp into the swamps. 'Bring someone you trust' and 'holy place vault' isn't much of a drawcard; seems pretty obvious we're not going to be allowed to loot it, plus I'm going to say my character isn't too keen on swamp-people. Lilith is fine as she's been level-headed and it's just her, but he's not going to be keen on a bunch of them.

As the party talks at the table, a man covered in mud walks up to Annabell.
"Annabell! I didn't know you liked the gumbo or I would have offered to pay."
The mudman looks at the party gathered. "So this will be the team that rids the scourge from the Holy Cavern, is it? Oh, sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Kaleb, and I have been stationed in the city square the spread the good word.
"We need some assistance with a little problem in one of our Holy places. Recently we had a problem with a few molerats digging in and killing the plant life, but that's nothing a few prayers didn't fix. The only problem is that now there is something else living in there. We don't know what, but it's killed anyone who's walked in. At night, we hear the sounds of knives being sharpened, but whatever is living in the Cavern is not human."
Kaleb rummages through his coat and places something on the table. "If you're looking for incentive aside from the eternal gratitude of the Druids, consider this." On the table resides what resembles a computer chip, but it's smaller, and the circuitry is way more advanced. The moment Kaleb backs up, a small red LED turns on. "The Cavern is filled with small wonders such as that. We have no use for them, but I feel you fellows might be able to find a use for them. We only ask that you leave the plant life in the Cavern alone and intact. We hope to have your answer soon. Annabell, you know where to take them should they agree."
As Kaleb leaves, the computer chip makes a beeping noise. Know: Science (Arcana) to know what that thing is. Know: Engi will work too, but the DC is higher.
Vincent "Scab"
"Hmm, interesting stuff. Not really sure what it does, heh, but more pieces will hopefully make a clearer puzzle picture."
The Nameless GM
Scab and Marcel take the little chip to the most tech savvy person they know: Adam, the Vaultkeeper.
When they enter his shop, there's weapons and electrons and gizmos abound. Adam is at the front desk, working on a motherboard with a magnifying vizor on his head. Andy approaches you as you enter.
"Welcome to A&A Mechanics. Wait, Marcel and Crispy? Good to see you again!"
Adam looks up from his work. "Hey there! Good to see you! What can I do for you guys?"
When the situation is explained, Adam takes the chip and looks it over. "No way..." He takes a soldering iron and starts working on the chip. After a little bit, he plugs it into a terminal and starts typing on a keyboard. "There is no way this information and programing can fit on this one chip. There's ten times as much information than on the largest holodisk we can, or rather, could build. Wherever this chip came from, whoever built it, they've got one hell of a mind."
"The chip itself seems to be a prototype. The little light comes on when exposed to sunlight, and the beep is when the charge is complete. This chip can hold information pretty much indefinitely. I'd love to get my hands on some more of these."
Vincent "Scab"
"Interesting. What kind of stuff can it work with? And a solar charge, heh. Interesting indeed."
Marcel the Wise
"So it's a solar-powered data chip with extremely high information-density? What is the charge powering; does it need a constant charge to maintain the data, or is it doing something else? And can you figure out from the ports on this thing what it's meant to plug into?"
The Nameless GM
"It could work with anything, really. The ports and plug-ins are universal, but I don't recommend putting it into your pip-boy. The data overload could short it out.
"As for the charge, there's an internal battery to keep it active, but it isn't a standard nuclear battery. From what I can tell, it's an old fashioned watch battery, but rigged to recharge with a solar source. As long as energy is supplied, the information saved on the chip could stay there pretty much forever."
Vincent "Scab"
"Hmm, i could see a lot of potential uses. Robots, libraries, bigger pip boys... say, if we come into possession of more of these, would they be worth anything to you? Maybe you'd also be able to teach me a thing or two about them?"
The Nameless GM
"I was trying to get some of the info, but I wasn't able to get much. For now, it looks like just a manifest of some kind. Mostly just computer parts, some herbology supplies. I'm thinking there would be other manifests with more supplies."
"I was thinking about that, and if I had a few more of these, I could whip up something pretty easily. A couple more copies and I'll be able tell the code from the information and work up a way to get the goods from these chips."
Vincent "Scab"
"Well, sounds like we should try to find some more of these, no matter what we decide to do with them, heh."
The Nameless GM
After meeting up with the group and explaining what's what, it is decided that Annabell should lead the party to the Druids as she knows the best way to get to them deep in the Marshes.
We're gonna fast travel for a sec, but we are coming back to real time pretty quickly.
Annabell is able to get the party through the Marshes pretty easily, seeing how she grew up in these trees and knows the place like the back of her hand. Having a +13 to Survival is nice too.
Eventually, Annabell leads the party to what used to be a boat rental shack. Discovered: Manny's Airboat Tours Now rundown and covered with moss and plant life, the shack is yet another sad reminder of what this great place could have been.
Outside are a couple of hooded figures playing a game of cards. As Annabell approaches, one of them stands, ready to open fire with his lever-action rifle, but lowers when he sees Annabell.
"Sister! Good to see you again after so long!" The figure lowers its hood to reveal a young man very close to becoming a Ghoul like Crispy and Scab. His skin is so pale and weak you can see his muscles underneath and most of his hair is missing. His voice sounds like he has a sore throat, but it'll never heal. When he sees the Tinny behind Annabell, his rifle is back at the ready. "Who are your friends?"
Annabell Trinity
"Brother Rodrick, These are some traveling companions that I owe my life to. Saved me from some nasty Mutants while savaging for supplies. Brother Kaleb told me about the holy cave having some electronics in it. We were wanting to get a look at those. I would make sure that nothing else is taken. Would we be able to get back to the encampment to go there"
The Nameless GM
Rodrick the half-ghoul's eyes dart back and forth between Annabell and Edward. Eventually, he nods and lowers his rifle. "Alright. If Annabell trusts you, I'll make an exception."
Rodrick heads into the shack for a moment, then comes back out with a set of keys on a keyring and a few burlap sacks. "So there are a few restrictions on travel to the encampment.
"First, the Tinny can't be armored. The boats can only carry so much weight, so we have to make multiple trips. I've got a few bags you can take your stuff in.
"Second, no weapons on the boat. I'll get those to you on he second trip.
"Third, no one except for Annabell can see where I'm going. Sorry, but it's just procedure. Only Druids can know where we're going. And in case you're thinking of using those Pip-boys to find out where we've been, we are prepared for that."
Rodrick tosses the sacks on the ground. "One bag each. Set your stuff in and put the other one on your head when we head out."
Vincent "Scab"
Scab will take his combat shotgun and put it in the bag.
They only asked for weapons, after all. One should be sufficient to make them happy.
"Yeah, if you take my shotgun... heh, nothing will save you if i find another" Scab says, trying to be menacing but ultimately failing.
craft gunsmithing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 to remove vital parts so my ballistic fist appears to be more of a prosthetic gauntlet

Marcel doesn't greet the man and simply says "I'll go on the third boat."
When Rodrick is sailing away and out of sight, he methodically begins hiding a club, his silenced pistol, ten rounds of ammo for the pistol and a landmine on his person.
Take 10 on Sleight of Hand checks for 15
Also, while in town I buy a stick of rebar to use as a club
The Nameless GM
Before Rodrick leaves, he turns to Marcel after hearing Marcel plans on going on the third trip. "No, you're not. First trip, or no trip. I'm not making a third trip. Two trips is the friends and family special thanks to Annabell. You take the second trip or you stay behind." This guy is adamant. To convince him otherwise, you'll need a diplomacy or enough caps to make it worth his while. A Prof: Trader works too if you think you can barter your way out of this.
For Marcel, taking 10 on the SoH is no longer available since he's watching you or leaving you.
Crispy, very good roll for the pistol and your ballistic fist is now a fancy glove. You've got one MFC in your pistol. If you wanna take another, give me another slight of hand.
