At the time there was no place to 5-foot step to. Zokon could have 'moved' away, but the ooze would have gotten an AoO the moment he turned his back to do so since he had already taken a standard (attack) action and therefore can't 'withdraw', which is usually a full-round action unless you are staggered and normally the only other way to move away from a foe you are engaged with besides taking a 5-foot step.
Technically a player character would have to take action their action all at once at their initiative. We use block initiative to keep things moving, but you still take all your actions when you are up (because otherwise my head would explode). I could see a case for Zokon delaying until Numalar moved out of the way first. However the tactics Numalar wants to employ this round wouldn't work as he would end up either behind Celyne or around the corner and with no line of sight to the targets of his spells.
So the options are: Zokon 'moves', Numalar 'moves', or you come up with something else this round, maybe shuffle around and get into attack position for next round. If Numalar/Pete's going to be away when this posts, the final decision is Zokon's.

I think the idea was for Zokon to "move" normally, with an Acrobatics check to avoid provoking the AoO. He only spent the standard action, and would have had a move action left to get away, opening the way for Numalar. So order would be: Zokon attacks, then falls back acrobatically, then Numalar attacks and rides away on his mount to someplace down the hall that Didymus thinks smells interesting.

Depends on how you interpret 'paralyzed'. Some folks like 'cartoon paralyzed' where a person is just stuck like a statue, but others go with the 'Strength 0' interpretation. In 3.x I tended to favor the latter for realism, but PFRPG leans toward the former. With these things I think cartoon paralysis works just fine. There are no penalties for having objects in your hands when attempting to break a grapple/pin (only when you are attempting to grapple) so you certainly could have your weapons in hand assuming you had them in hand when you went in, which makes sense to me since you are in a dungeon. Still, if you stand, and attack, and don't kill it....

I am inclined to agree. You may want to withdraw here. Scarlet is asking for you to move out of the way.

The eagle strikes a pair of parting shots then Scarlet slices at the gel with her swords and the thing looses what solidity it had and falls like a big gelatinous landslide to flagstone floor burying a petrafied, mucus-covered Luna.

Aside from Luna the party discovers among the rapidly drying ooze: a masterwork heavy mace, and set of three clay mason jars covered in flakes painted glaze that did not survive the cubes' acid. Each jar contains an oddly colored alchemical sludge--like the half dried remains of a potion. The largest is nearly empty except for some blue goo at the bottom. The medium one seems the most liquid and most full. It is a transparent green. The last and smallest has a soupy red liquid in it.
